Same here. I didn't watch baseball until 2018 when I came upon an Ohtani's trending article. I have become a huge fan and have been watching him since then.

That's awesome to hear. As someone who has been watching on and off for my whole life this season has been the most exiting in a long time. Acuna might go 40/40 this year, Tatis is dominating, Ohtani is healthy for the first time in years, Padres have emerged as a legitimate contender to the Dodgers, and The Yankees are awful :) Life is good.

We're also unlucky enough to see our starting pitching give up 9 in the first 2 innings some days. But games like this make being an Angels fan very enjoyable

@@Rylopero Heaney, Quintana and Cobb’s FIP’s are elite this year, great expected ERA (and a lot of inherited runs by the bullpen), and they were very good the last two years. 5 2020 Alex Cobbs gives you a rotation ERA in the top half which gives you a solid chance if you have a great offense. Quintana had the 23rd lowest FIP in baseball in 2019 and improved it in 2020 albeit in only 10 innings. Angels pitching is not great but it was above average on paper before the season and if you look past ERA we are excelling in all the important categories like FIP, hard hit %, k/9, HR/9, pitcher WAR. And we lead the league in BABIP while also leading the league in soft contact, meaning the league is hitting the ball the softest off our pitchers while also having the highest batting average on balls in play. Actually crazy to be on polar opposites of those two metrics, basically tells a story of tremendous execution and terrible luck. Also realize we’ve given up roughly a third of our runs this year in 3 games. Anyways rant over. Been telling people since the beginning of the season this team has the pieces to win and I definitely ain’t stopping just bc our ERA isn’t too hot first 20 games while closer details reveal great performance.

@@kevinqn3221 No way a manager would tell a slugger like Ohtani to bunt. The Rangers had the shift on where there were no infielders down the left side of the field. This may open things up for him in the future as now teams see that he is not hesitant to lay one down the 3rd base line with a bunt. The man is always thinking with strong baseball fundamentals and skill.

We've seen pitchers support themselves before, but NOT as the number 2 regular hitter in the line-up. Oh, and as tied for the MLB lead in HRs. Historic stuff!!!!! Actually it was during the Ohtani's "interviewing process", when he and his agent sent out the letter, asking each team to specified his role and how each team would use him. I was like, Wow, a player has that much star power; this is unheard of. And I started digging on who Shohei Ohtani was. I watched every highlights of Ohtani during his playing days in Japan. At the end of the day, I was completely sold. 😊. Yes, I got a lot of Ohtani's Rookie cards.
