Use your left hand to pinch the line and feel the bites when you’ve lost your float, keeping the line quite tight. It’s called free lining. Good effort

That's the pond i was on about go to that pond on a small lure and u will catch perch and they won't be small

I usually have one, but I lost it on the weekend while Carp fishing so no longer have one, getting new one soon tho, never usually use them for smaller fish tho so thanks for the advice
