Thanks for a nice and very kind respons! I have a question though... And I understand that its not optimal or maybe not even prefferable. But is it possible to run Dmg-Close? IF you dont have the luck or absolutley doomed :)) Get Flay-Duration and then have the luck to get Crit-Dmg on a rouge as well? I understand it preff. But until you even get close to that can you run that insted to start at least? Or do you see anything else that is better to run until you have a remote chance get That amount of crit on the build to get started? Also a Huge thanks for taking the time to really get into the impotrence of the game play loop and Rapture. (I am probabaly the only yahoo here that did not even were close to understand this IF you had not deep dived into the importence of the game loop)...SO BIG cudo for singel this out and really pressing the subject. Awsome video and Been a Humbling "Roll of Tampering" but damn! Is it a FUN build... (Even though I sure am a noob and no were near thoses numbers but ..baby steps ;))

Hey! It definitely is baby steps. It all comes slowly this season. Marathon not a sprint. You can use damage to close but you lose out. You're basically double dipping because crit damage applies to Flay and it also increases your bleed through gushing wounds.

Welcome to Diablo 4! It is a lot to take in. I'm glad you decided to try it. Just learn one thing at a time, eventually it clicks and it doesn't have to happen overnight. Hey thank you so much! I can't wait for you to try it. In this build flay duration is incredibly important and you can't afford to give it up. You lose so much dps. For other bleed builds grandfather can work but this one you'd lose too much.

Hey! They are completely different. Bash clears trash super fast but bosses slow down and flay classes trash slower but melts bosses. I do have a build for bash that rips through tormented bosses. Nothing hits as hard as flay though.

I alternate using leap and charge for trash (also using flay and rupture) (instead of steel grasp) as it's a quicker trash and overall faster movement and flay, rupture so you can have best of both worlds (similar to how we were using dual skills in s3)

So many different variations out there. It's good to try and see what works best for you.

Had to unsub for the pun though.. =P I am at only 30% Crit Chance which is rough but I did manage to DPS test at 74% before I made the biggest mistake in D4 history and salvaged my whole gear set because I forgot to favorite it lmao. The difference in damage that high crit chance brings is hard to even put into words tbh. Anyway got a good amount of gear back now so just gotta up that Crit Chance again and its sorted!

Hey thank you! Been working with one of my officers on building boards. It's been a lot of fun. Moving marshal for more res if you need it is a good choice! I'm so glad we got all these scrolls this season.

Unfortunately I seem to be hitting the damage wall trying to do pit 114. My stats aren't quite as good as yours but I think my main problem is not wanting to let go of melted heart of selig. I was hoping that switching out the rubies on my armor for strength gems would help make up the difference but I guess losing aspect of elements and having lower percentage on adaptability aspect is hurting my damage too much. I can just barely keep up with the timer and of course that leaves me no time for the boss which sucks as I feel like I could probably knock them down fairly decently if I could get the chance.

@kylerichings3065 yeah this build definitely will be tough with melted heart if you're focused on damage. It takes a little practice and luck but you'll get it down without it on.

Yeah nice thing with Bash and Ramaldnis was that it scaled off resource and melted adds a lot. I'm just not that great at shadow boss mechanics 😂

The shadow boss is one of my least favorite haha too mich running around.

I'm building a guide right now but the mid-season patch is buffing flay. So it's only going to be stronger.

Hey. I've been using it to farm T99s in just a couple minutes. It takes a little bit to get set up before it runs well but once it's set up the notes fights are about 30 seconds.

That's so awesome I'm really glad to hear it helped you! It's a challenging build to use. I'm still learning the best way to push but in big groups at high levels I started waiting longer to rupture unless I really needed cooldowns. I also try to hit as many targets as I can and yes focus on elites. They give you the most progress.

Yeah lot of button mash up to keep all skills active with shouts resulting to massive damage 😅

Hey! Yeah flay is not the best AoE. It's a tradeoff. The boss fights are way faster though.

Yeah haven't gone through your whole video yet but I'll try following your planner instead and see what happens. Got sucked into trying to finish my heartseeker rogue build but I feel like it might get stuck at higher pits but we'll see.

Hey! Thank you. Yeah you're right. Unfortunately you'd lose out on so much damage.

I think it's a worthy trade off to have ONE roll of Rsize somewhere on your gear. Your overall DPS is going to be high enough with or without another DMG roll. And clearing mobs is a massive part of the pit. I'd rather get to the boss 2 minutes faster and not be pressed for time but that's just me.

You definitely can. That's the best part of this season. There are so many ways to build a character.

@@cliptis86 the way I look at it is the difference between 38 billion and 40 billion isn't going to make or break the build. And more ofen then not, I die to the mobs more then the boss itself. Being able to hit that outer ring of trash after using steel grasp that you normally wouldn't hit really expedites your pit times.

If it's working, then definitely don't change it. The amount of variants I've seen is so cool and they all work.

I switched to bash at 92. I'm glad I didn't switch to Flay right away. Bash is simple, tanky and strong. It's really fun and cheap to get into. Flay isn't.

Hey! Bash is king for just hopping into a build and clearing a ton of content. Especially the builds I made for bash. Easy and quick to get into. Flay hits WAY harder on a single target, though not so much on groups.

Hey! I might have missed it. I'll look and update the planner. My barb that I play actually runs 62% poison resist and then I use elixir of antivenom but I didn't want to put something in the planner that relied on an elixir. You can roll a cold damage stat somewhere in place of HP or str which ever you need less. Or try for 25% crit on all res affix.

Hey! I actually love iron skin! I tested it over and over. The problem I found was that I had to be losing health to pop it, and I felt pretty squishy. After I changed my build I didn't feel squishy at all. I ran T123 without it and felt great.

@@cliptis86 very nice I will def give it a try since to be honest I feel the same, just got out of a t111 a bit ago and the fact the bosses have to hit me to proc iron skin makes me think i'll be 1 shot before I can actually get iron skin up

@@cliptis86 So I did some testing between your build and the Chinese flay build I talked about on stream with iron skin. Best i've managed with the chinese build is 16b crits with my current gear, with your build I did manage 22b crits on dummy, haven't tested how survivability compares in 110+ pits yet, but will send feedback. I did notice I have about 50% less berserking damage in your build, as well as a bit lower crit damage, currently only have about 60% crit chance thanks to poor gear rolls, so I could def optimize more, but with less stats so far I am doing more damage it seems. just did a 110: Things are dying faster without a doubt, boss fights need a little more dodging, but the 110 outlaw sharpshooter boss melted pretty good, only death was due to bone wall trying to tank it. Mitigated most mechanics by doing 1 early rupture for attack speed buff then building bleed as much as I could just before first echo spawn then rupturing to lower his hp as much as possible while mechanics were minimal.

Hey I'm making a guide for that hopefully today or tomorrow. Crit damage for all bleed builds this season is one of the more important stats because of gushing wounds.

Got it, I think Swiftness on skill tree, Berserker aspect and ghost walker on boots is the best way for Speed variant.

Hey! All builds can use anything you want but you'd lose a lot of dps. You'd cap out in how high you can clear, especially with this build. If you wanted to use it to learn the play style you definitely could.

Hey! I actually started with Iron Skin on myself and with the changes I made to the skill tree I went from feeling squishy scared when iron skin was not available to cast to feeling super tanky, my health didn't drop too much. It was a really big quality of life change. I LOVE Iron skin. I just didn't feel as good with it on for this build yet. I maybe change later. Shouts heal you with this build and cooldown rupture plus steelgrasp.

Thanks for the reply. I suppose if you are feeling very tanky that would be a good reason. But I feel like iron skin is too good to not take as it's supposedly bugged at the moment. Instead of healing for 10 percent health as the tool tip says, it instead heals you to full and puts a barrier. There's also a neat aspect which can make you unstoppable if one wants. At least for me, the healing from shouts isn't enough and I'm using the attack speed from rupture so I'm enjoying iron skin at the moment. But I'm glad to see your insight. The damage reduction and fortify from challenging shout can't be slept on.

@frankschwarz408 yeah a lot of the build I have put out run iron warrior for the extra DR and the unstoppable. It's a great skill it's only downside is you have to have taken damage before you can use it. I love iron skin, so it's a great choice for people to use.

@@cliptis86 Just swapped out iron skin for challenging shout and have to admit it feels better without iron skin.

@flamingjob2 hey the legendary one gives you max. I got mine around level 66. You just spam the helltide boss until it drops.

Hey put the item in your stash, log onto your rogue, temper it and put it back into your stash

you will want the legendary marksman finesse temper recipe in order to get the max, roughly lvl 50+ bit of a grind but only way unless bliz allow crit dmg temper for other classes, best way to get this is either through maidens and get to wt4 with a buddy. i was in wt4 @ lvl52 and actually got the recipe in the capstone run (as had the blue and yellow recipes). also keep in mind you will also want to temper once u get it on the barb so use the pity system dummy gear if not rolling the crit dmg within 1/2 rolls

I can see the frustration in this but if we got everything right the first time we'd have nothing to do. I run into the same things. One of my weapons is currently an 822 item level because everything bricked. I still cleared 120 in the Pits with not the best gear. I have pieces without greater affixes on them. It's meant to be a slow progression. Everyone would have quit already if we weren't still chasing items for our builds.

Hey! Bash hits so much harder than flay does. Flays direct damage is relatively low and paingorgers doesn't proc the bleed from Flay. So it doesn't give much benefit. I tested it a lot when I started Flay

Hey! You lose a lot of damage with the grandfather, unfortunately with the build. No one is doing trillions this season. Even the strongest players are up to about 80 billion but that's getting close to almost perfect gear and weeks of set up.

Hey D4 website is really buggy. It allows you to put in 226 points but only says it's 225 sometimes. Just remove a damage node somewhere to unlock the last board node

Hey you should check out the gameplay loop I hit for 10 billion. This build has gone up to 15 billion for me with bad gear. It's crazy to see. You'll really like it and you can tell him you do more damage now than he does.

Hey! With the new flay builds that came out, the barbarians now hit harder than the golem necros. Barbarians are up to almost 40 billion hits with Rupture. It's actually pretty insane. The downside is that you need amazing gear and great masterworking rolls. With decent gear and ok masterworking rolls, I got up to 15 billion hits. I love minion necromancers. I played it on the PTR and I've played one every season of this game.

I've played a Barbarian since the launch of the game and it's always been strong. I got lucky and picked the right class haha

Hey good point! I did miss that. You gain a 15x multiplier when healthy. It's big damage.

Thank you! The run I recorded I was testing over and over with and without iron skin and iron warrior. It felt so much smoother without since I wasn't waiting for my life to dip to allow me to use iron skin. I love that skill and use it in most of my builds but this testing it felt better without. I ran like ten 110s in a row to be sure.

Welcome back. My brother is a ranger. It's not better or worse. It's a harder hitting build but it's harder to play it.

Helltides is the best place to get gear. So if you need to farm that's the place to be.

Hey! Thank you! Flay duration is the most important temper. If you wanted to build the paragon board into damage while berserking to drop it from the weapons you could, but you need at least 300% to max your bloodrage node.

@justinsurpless4137 no problem. I covered it in the paragon board section. You stack vulnerable damage to add to the hemorrhage node. It takes all your additive vulnerable damage and converts it to a multiplier. With Flay you're generally trying to run a 2:1 crit damage and vulnerable.

That's a good option. I tested it too but it only works when you're killing monsters. If you use rage of Haragoth your cooldowns are almost instant with rupture so I used that because it multiplies with gushing wounds and it's useful on boss fights. Disembowled doesn't work on boss fights.

Hey thanks for watching. It's stacking the bleed. Every time you apply a new bleed during that duration it adds to the total amount. If you can attack 10 times in the duration of 1 bleed it stacks 10 times, if you extend that duration and can attack 20 times in a single duration you get 20 stacks.

@ho1mi8ci7de4 no it's ok. You level a rogue until the legendary aspect drops for you with crit damage temper. Then you put the piece of gear you want crit strike damage in your stash from your barb. You temper it on your rogue and then put it back into your stash for your barb.

So I have make a rogue? Level it to what? And making a rogue gets me the crit strike damage tempering on barb how? Sorry trying learn from ya is all

@cypherrbw1852 I would just move 1 point around. Sometimes D4 build bugs out. I was putting a point in a glyph board one time and every time I added it a str node in the middle of the board would highlight.

Hey! I have done that before. The random high bleed ticks come from gushing wounds, or the weapon damage range, or even if the target is vulnerable, or you crit vs not. If you hit a target that's vul, but don't crit that's a big difference from hitting a target that's vul and you do crit, vs hitting a target that's vul, you do crit and you get gushing wounds. There are so many multipliers and variables in this build for damage you'll see numbers all over the place.

@@cliptis86 But if I hit the main target dummy, the secondary arent supposed to be vulnerable, yet sometimes they are. It seems there is some sort of an AOE going on that I cannot explain which trigger exploit on the secondary dummy. Also the variation is so big with the same test: I get 500k, 3M, 5M, 8M, 10M, 15M and my all time high 20M (with my crappy gear) tic damage all doing the same basic test. I stand still, crank damage during a full sun, full moon, then pop warcry on the next sun and wait till berserk buff is almost done. Also you would think I would get my highest number when the aoe pops up and makes the secondary dummy vulnerable but it is not the case. The vulnerable sometimes is exploit glyph. Every time you hit something and it only happens once every 20 seconds they become vulnerable

@@cliptis86 But I only hit the main target, There is an AOE (that trigger exploit) I cannot trace the origin from wich makes every other secondary dummies vulnerable. I am just trying to understand the extreme variance there is while exploding rupture. I get there is variance within the dummies on a particular explosion but every explosion is WAY different with the same parameters (stand still, crank for 1 sun, 1 moon, then pop warcry on the 2nd sun and rupture just ask berserk will end). I get tics of: 500K, 3M. 5M, 8M, 10M, 15M, 19M between the tests; always different for the same test. Also since rupture reset the cd of rupture itself, if my 2nd rupture is a smaller tics, will it override the previous rupture that had a bigger tic damage? That would be bad. Edit: I need to try without Ironskin but I feel I would get killed. I have +15 warcry and that 10% bonus I have to waste to get my fortify would amp my damage. Not to mention I am very slow with those warcry boots and the speed from rally would be a nice qol. I need to try it. Do you die more? Is the 20% reduce on pants help a lot?

Did you use the same skill points and paragon board or is it different?

Almost the same paragon, same skill points, all my stats are higher than yours, but 2 hits from your flay is 2mil, 2 hits from my flay is 200k, even if I spam it its additive, unlike your hits that are multiplying the bleed that is already there

Hey, no, it caps out at 100% I notice a big difference in running 58 when I use heart of selig vs my normal amulet with crit chance.

@shadowen4258 you can't see all the buffs you have up at one time. So if you have too many buffs you won't see it. When you're on a horse or in town you can't see it either. If you watch your attack power every 7 seconds it will go up and down. That's elements.

You need to level a rogue until the legendary temper drops. Helltide boss is the best place. I got mine at level 66. Then you have to be on the rogue to temper and put it back into your stash after you temper.

@@cliptis86 thanks ! Its very diffiicult to make the rotation and rupture at the right time ... i have the same gear as you and i dont heat like you... very strange ! do you have an idea on what im doing wrong ?

Having the right stats on gear is only a small % of doing damage. If you're glyphs aren't 21 you're losing damage, if your tempers aren't right you lose damage but your biggest power boost is masterworking if you're only 8/12 you won't do the same. If you're 4/12 you'll do WAY less. Even getting to 12 you have to have the right rolls of your 25% increases

@@cliptis86 i see! Im actually at 8/12 all glyphes 21.. i have the right affixes on every gears.. so i need right now to level gears to 12 and i have less dps because i dont have strengh like you i saw you had 380 on rupture i have 310..maybe its the main reason

@moh7039 that definitely will help a lot. That also comes with masterworking. If you have strength on most of your gear you'll gain 15% more going from 8 to 12.

​@cliptis86 I didn't get one flay duration but instead got a rupture size on one of my swords, seems to help a ton with mob groups. Thought it was bricked but actually it's kinda great.

That will be ok early on but when you get to the high levels you'll need the duration. If you're not planning on pushing high levels then that's a great way to do it

Hey D4 builds seems to have this issue sometimes. I'll try to find it today. Someone just told me about it this morning. I'm at work now but when I get home I'll look. There are extra nodes in some of the additive damage board you can take out. I don't know why it let's me put in 226 points and says it's 225.

@@cliptis86 i mean normally i would only use exploit on a build that has no great way to vuln targets, you chain things and make them vuln, so all your getting from it is the +vuln damage. I take it that +vuln damage for this build is good enough to warrant the glyph. Sorry i'm quite new.

@B455PL4Y3R Hey! Yeah in the paragon board section I covered the Hemorage node. All the vulnerable damage that you stack gets converted to a multiplier with that legendary node. So you can get upwards of 100%(×) with enough (+)vulnerable damage.

I'm going to make a build video soon but there's a lot of bash builds out there doing billions of damage with bleed. You need masterworking at 12/12 for most builds to br strong.

Hey! This build with good gear goes up to almost 40 billion rupture hits. It's not the bleed they does the big damage it's rupture. Bleed is big, rupture is huge.

Hey! No I can't do that. Don't give out your login info to anyone! The whole point of games like these are too explore and learn how the characters play. Make sure you complete your Renown, level your glyphs to 21, do all your Tempering and get your masterworking to 12.

What's your flay duration at? You can only hit as much as your bleeds can stack. If they start falling off in between ruptures you will cap on damage.

Hey! No paingorgers doesn't proc the bleed and flay doesn't actually hit too hard. So having the extra temper and aspect was better. I tested it a lot.

Yeah, bash bleed is awesome. I haven't tried it yet. I'm finishing flay. We are up to 25 billion rupture hits so far, but my gear is less than optimal. Once I finally get it rolling, we'll be over 30 billion. My bleed ticks only are going up to 850 million now so I have a long way to go.

Especially with Flay getting buffed.

100%! I love dust Devils, but unfortunately, it can't do billions and billions of damage, so it can't push super high into the pits.
