Got these thinking they were the slightly larger Panfish floats ru-vid.comUgkx_rJB7cli5f1ofPVGgn80S7Yj4vqwq0gU they work just fine. The smaller size lets me carry more in my tackle box, and the 3 color choices are nice for different lighting conditions, backgrounds, etc. They aren't the most durable things in the world. But, as cheap as they are, it's not heartbreaking to lose one or have to replace a worn one. The price on these fluctuates wildly, from about $9 to almost $16. So, time your buy accordingly.
Looks like a lot of fun, a little constructive criticism though, you’re breaking your line by thrashing your pole around. Let that fish fight the pole a little. You’re not gonna stop em when they want to go, let them tire theirselves out a little.
Lol I was thinking the same thing. I love your enthusiasm and excitement. The Chrome thing is just a tad over stated. Think about it….. what if you fish the lake in June and get a true bullet Chrome fish? You have no where to go. Do you call it Chrome Chrome at that point? 😉 Amazing bobber downs and great vid!
Man you guys are aggressive on the fight! I manipulate my drag a little more. Sometimes I let them take line to tire themselves out depending on the situation!
None better that fighting a king! Used to fish Lake Michigan in the 80's! First king I caught, tried to thumb the spool to slow it down and burnt my thumb! Temperature fishing with down riggers and rarely got skunked. Never lost my taste for salmon either, as there are soooo many ways to cook 'em up!
Learning a bit from your bobber float videos and seeing what it looks like when the bait gets hit. Been learning from a friend. And had my first fight with a chrome today. Super late in the season but hey I'm wanting a fishie.
Every fish is a “head shaker” like I don’t get announcing that. And when you’re sitting there wrenching on the fish trying to horse them in without letting them fight may be the reason you keep loosing them 😂
dont horse them so much and let them run youd land alot more, also if you were pinning you would deff of stuck more fish! just throwing my two sense in.. fish on!! enjoyed the video.
Great video as always. I wasnt there so dont know the layout of the river but try not to horse them in and just fight them a little more if you can and you will land more. Also I hope you released the first fish as it was clearly foul hooked. You can see at 4:27 the bobber didn't go down but only moved slightly before setting the hook. Possibly her just swimming into your line or bait and after netting her you can see at 5:33 mark that it is hooked in the bottom of the jaw instead of inside the mouth.
If you have ever float fished kings before you know that they are known for eating like blugil sometimes, small flicks or twitches in your float are often bites and short strikes. These are hard to pick up on camera bc of how subtle they are. This fish ate a bead, which was probably slide down after the fight, but I can promise you the hook was inside the mouth. Thanks for watching tho tight lines👍
When float fishing steelhead we set the hook on irregularities in float behavior as the bite can be soft. Such as the float rising in the water, or straightening on the mend, indicating a take that lifts splitshot. I haven't fished kings much, but I wouldn't judge too much based on what the float did.
Way different then we fish Here on oregon coast are nooks drain the bobber and keep it pinned under water good job having eye of the bobber....how do your fish cut there pale or red ?
Nice action! Thanks for sharing. Those fish looked a little colored. 20lb leader should be plenty for these kings. Let the rod do the work rather than horsing them in.
Laughing my butt off. I think this guy pretty much knows what he is doing, no net and yes he pretty much had to horse them right there. Those were beasts! Nice video
Dude nice bobber downs but for the love of god just loosen your drag a little bit lol you don’t need to fight them with full force it increases the chance of breaking off or ripping the hook out exponentially..like what happened in the video multiple times
Many fish off camera were lost on looser drags. These fish were eating and running directly into the multiple log jams surrounding the hole. Thanks for watching 🤙🏻
Wouldn’t call those fish “CHROME!” “Dime bright” “chrome as chrome can be” “soooooo chrome.” You literally said the fish were chrome within the first .012 seconds of hooking it without even seeing it.
Correct, the ones he caught isn't technically, "chrome", but they're indeed still pretty fresh and strong. The yellowish green color would tell me the fish has only been in the river for a week or two. So I honestly don't have an issue with him calling it, "chrome". This would be an issue if it was in the middle of October and he's calling boots chrome lol.
@@sbsoutdooraction3055 damn I'm gonna have to head up north soon to hit smaller streams, I'm in the grand Haven area, north pier is right by my house but not sure what to cast there any tips?
Seeing you guys horse the fish and not letting them fight. Pisses me off. The fun of fishing is the fight. Plus your using so much force to horse the fish in that's why your snapping your line. Learn to let the fish fight. Loosen the drag, let them fight, have alot more fun.
@@sbsoutdooraction3055 well, can't do much when they go under log jams and timber. I'll I can say is that take your rod and put it sideways while fighting the fish, you'll have more control of them.

NEVER GIVE THEM A INCH!!!!! LOCK THAT PUPPY DOWN AND PULL. We run 9weight spay rods turned in to float rods. 40lb braid to 17lb Pline leader. Sick hole good early numbers this season so far.
@@sbsoutdooraction3055 They are hooked in the mouth. Use that to your advantage, lay your rod over almost in the water and steer them away. Sometimes the fish will end up in the lumber yard and you can't help it. But you may be able to lay your rod over and steer the away. When I say this. Work with the fish and not against it.
Great fishing but I think you should invest some money in to a float real you will have better control I live in Canada and I do a lot of fishing for salmon and rainbow brown trout and we all over here used float real you should check one out but great fishing I will subscribe to your Channel❤
Im not hacking on you at all(we all have our own way of doing things) but omg you are crazy aggressive fighting those fish!i know there is a ton of snags you have to keep them out of.but most the break offs are when their in open water bud?switch to braided line on main, and 8lb braid(30lbs strength) for leader maybe?been fishing in Washington for 45 years, and I've just absolutely land more fish with braid.we tested mono vs braid on leader(see if bites were less) and didnt make any difference at all.a tad bit in summer, when there was crystal clear water (and was stealhead in low clear water)that day was only mono bites
Hard to tell in the vid but there were logs running through the middle of the holes in multiple spots. I believe all but 1 or 2 in this vid were breaks from snags. I definitely wouldn’t be surprised about the mono vs braid thing tho. Seems like when they decided to eat they just do. Maybe something to consider for next season tight lines👍
What poundage do you use on your lines that you're literally ripping them on to shore.... Also, I'm trying to figure out why on every hook up, there is a need to jump into the water and run after them into the hole ... just asking
@@sbsoutdooraction3055 i have to agree you were fighting way to aggressive, i think rod was being used plenty I thought you were going to fall back a few time. Great footage though.
