I just got back from a week long trip up there fishing with AJ. He runs living legends guiding service. Best musky guide on the lake. We boated 7 musky over 5 days, saw a bunch of giants but they just were not eating. I can’t wait to go back next year. Great video guys. By the way, the first musky we got on the boat I caught on the flap 9. Pretty please make these available for purchase, I need one in my arsenal. The smaller version is cool, but I want the Flap 9.

I like that version of little running in place when he hooked that musky on the start of the figure 8 ! Have you ever seen a musky pull in a fisherman while figuring 8 ing ? Be a good idea for safety belts..lol

Love the vids man. Wish I could catch muskies like that where i am but the only lakes around here they don't get much bigger then 10lbs and they wont hit anything but top water in the small lakes.

Another great show. 2 questions for Lee. When is the flap tail 9 going to be available for purchase. I've bought from your site several times but I see the big ones not on there yet. Also, what reels are you using. The one with the groovy tooling on the side plate. Thx.

Can anyone explain what they are talking about when they say "cut the hook"? Are they shaving the barb off?

MuahMan, whenever the hook is in a spot where it may be easier to cut it with a bolt cutter then tearing it out of the fish we will cut at the bend of the hook so it just falls out. A hook is cheap and replaceable and if can reduce the injury to fish we do so.

Logan Savage they're great. I have the the 300 and 400 sizes. Smooth, nicely detailed and extremely well built. A little heavy but it's because they have a lot of metal in them. They are really built for saltwater. They are probably a little overkill for muskies but you'll like it. I've replaced my tranxs with it. Way more comfortable.

Todays Angler ok thanks for the reply back. I am a beginner musky angler and I would like to know what is the best musky rod and reel setup when your on a budget? And maybe some of the best affordable baits that will catchem? so I live up here in Wisconsin so there's some monsters!!

For a rod I recommend a Chaos Tackle Assault Stick in the SWAT model, 9'. Reel whatever you can afford. Check out musky flee market on facebook for best deals on used equipment. Baits #8 and #10 bucktail, Mid size Medussa, and one of my Water Chopper surface baits should get tou started.
