@OrigamiByBoice maybe you could do a separate tail piece and have this one slide onto it. Then you could do different tail styles. But then again that might sound dumb. I could be talking nonsense lol
@@brittneyp282Many people don't like using 2 sheets or scissors/tape in origami, origami and supposed to be only one piece of paper without cutting or adhesives, maybe not the same for everyone but for me, going against that makes it feel like my origami isn't as good as it would be
How do you design a crease pattern when you don't know exactly what you want it to look like? N in order for that to be the case that must mean it's computer assisted or completely computer designed and not your own creations Or you must be a super Saiyan origami beast
Great Question! The video is a simplification/joke about the process, but steps are still real. After studying many phoenix art photos and drawing my own references, I can break down the phoenix into how many “flaps” of paper I need to fold and how long they are. Then I convert them into a crease pattern with basic box pleating techniques. For a design like this, it is actually not difficult or very special to design compared to what is possible. Me and The Plant Psychologist have dedicated many of our youtube videos teaching this exact process. Of course it has taken years of practice and hundreds of designs to do it as quickly and have a vision of the final result, but the basic knowledge to start designing is taught by us on our youtube channels! It is quite fun indeed and does not need computer assistance.
But in terms of the knowledge to make this specific phoenix, its years of practicing origami. Hours studying formal drawing and anatomy. Hours studying character creation, comic book creation, manga creation, sculpturing, other paper arts, doing critiques with other folders, hundreds of hours studying crease patterns, etc. Not only do I train my hands, but I have trained my eyes too and it makes it easier to do things like this phoenix 👍
Even if you had to kill off phoenix and make it a dieing phoenix we're as the tail is falling off and turning into back into its ash form would you literally killed todashi modi

Useless dish (aluminum foil and straw without fire 🔥 (real fire from like a lighter [suggestion]) really though) we just need actually correct heat for pill to turn to gas. Hi OBB I’m trying to fold the original phoenix but I’m having trouble folding the wings and the head. Do you think the head and the wing are similar to the v2
@@OrigamiByBoice here's an idea for that: the one you are redesigning you can make it v2 and upload later and upload the tutorial of the older one as v1 if you wish, because as i said earlier i cant wait to make it!

I have practiced designing for many years, so I can think about what needs to be in the design: head, tail, feathers, etc. Then because I know how to create those flaps and the proportions, I put it together in a crease pattern. If you want to learn to design, you can watch this video:

Also watch my guides for shaping and reviews on my origami competitions. This will help give you foundation on what to learn.
