What he did is called a cat leap and can help you climb a wall. If he couldn't make the normal distance just jumping then that is the next best thing. (Also it looks cooler).

If anybody wanted to know, that vr game is called Stride, and I love it, but it works up a sweat really easily and makes me really tired. I play on Oculus "Rift". When I say that is, I play on Oculus Quest 2 with a cable that connects my VR to my PC
