Im 100% certain that ama wouldn’t have penalized Leib for that... With that being said, I think the “takeout” was a solid block pass, and I would’ve done the same.

I think everyone in the top 3 has a pretty solid argument for winning. Palmer could say Leib cut the track, so in theory there shouldn't have been a need for the contact....but Leib also cut because he was forced off from the brothers crash. Leib did accelerate off track; but that is probably the weakest infraction of all of them. Leib could say DQ for the intentional contact. Also Palmer cut the track after the contact which could be a penalty. 3rd place could say DQ them both for their separate infractions. That was kind of like a super close boxing fight that you tell yourself it could go either way and you'd understand. I think if I were the judge, I'd have ruled for equal splits between the top 3, and if that didn't fly I'd give it to 3rd place (if you are gonna call one infraction, you gotta call them both). But I wouldn't knock any choice the judges made. Would be a super tough decision with no answer being 100% right.
