These people are morons there is no way that Microsoft is going to buy valve look at the problem they had with just getting Activision Blizzard. The majority of the countries around the world would not even allow this to go through. And it would cause such s*** storm that the stock would probably crater at Microsoft
Yeah you're absolutely right when you think about it Microsoft spent $70 billion just to acquire Activision Blizzard. And they're only again to pay valve steam 16 billion I think that steam is probably worth at least $130 $140 billion to acquire that. I could be wrong but I'm sure there's people who know more about economics than I do.
Alex man, you forgot to mention Dreamcastguy saying that Gabe is "shorting his stock in the company" to lower its value... Like you said before in the video and this is me adding to it... STEAM IS A PRIVATE COMPANY, SO THERE WOULD NOT BE ANY STOCK TO SHORT!!!!!! AAAAHAHHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH!!!! Dreamcastguy is one of the biggest f**king bulls**tter in content creation history. His entire comment section are believing both his stupid ass video AND Dior's bulls**t tweet with no proof. Like, do people just believe ANYTHING people say on Twitter? For the love of Pete...
this! If he was at least consistent about reviewing the Game Genre and Gameplay, he wouldn't be such a clown(not a big improvement mind you, but still, anything would be better still...)
He gave starfield a good score but then the moment people started shitting on the game he started shitting on the game. I don't know why people take him seriously.
@@TheLazyFatMan Nah he was sh*tting SF from last years showcase and abruptly ended his stream when his own chat started roasting him for it. MCG saw just how easy it was to milk the SF hate. Dude's an Opportunist
Microsoft is not buying valve but what they are doing is making a deal with them by putting steam on Xbox store front. do pony’s even know what going on?
@@chriswihulu it’s is still rumours has it that Microsoft is making deals with epic games store and steam but I could see it coming to Xbox if the hardware is up to par but then again I could be Wong
@@utsavpradhan2754There is a huge difference between a couple of executives throwing ideas around for what if and people putting money and time and investment into acquisitions. Those emails showed between a handful of executives that they were just shooting the shit
@@abdel1143 The FTC didn't get involved in the Zenimax acquisition, that was the SEC who did. Also, the minimum isn't $140m for the FTC, its $111.4m. The CMA would still most likely take a look at the deal and they were the only one who put up any sort of fight with the ABK deal.
I COULD see Microsoft and Valve striking up some sort of partnership for say an Xbox handheld device or allowing Game Pass on Steam and Steam on Xbox consoles, but Microsoft straight up buying Valve... yeah it ain't happening.
So stupid and diseneguous, it broke Alex. Max is up there with the likes of Harman Smith as a fanboy who will say Anything, irrespective of how it make them look. Remember that bullshit he spewed about the Sonic movie before the trailers dropped?
I had a nightmare last night that the mouse problem I had a few months ago was back, and I think I would rather have that nightmare again than the nightmare you just described.
I figure IF there was any kind of offer made it would be for a partnership, especially if the rumors to put steam on the next Xbox have any merit to them
Dreamcast Guy's review of hellblade 2 is hilarious, he said it was terrible even though it's basically the same as the timed exclusive playstation original which he gave nine out of ten.
People need to learn that this is what happens when you believe twitter too much. I've never been on it because the original 128 character limit meant you can't have a meaningful discussions there. And now it becomes obvious that twitter is a place for dunking, knee jerk reactions, and gossip circulation.
If you want real proof of Dreamcastguy being a PS fanboy look at his review for HellBlade 1 then look at his HellBlade 2 review and compare what he had to say bout each.
Someone should post a rumor that in view of Microsoft's recent layoffs Sony is going to buy Xbox. I'd love to see what kind of a fool Dreamcast could make of himself there. Good vid
I think my boi Alex is going to pop a blood vessel, have a stroke and go into cardiac arrest all because of 1 Dreamcastguy video. That's a lot of damage 😂
I can see Microsoft doing a steam deal putting steam on Xbox as they have a good close relationship but not to buy steam out right that would be just stupid
I saw something on my Google feed. I was like, "Yeah, okay, bro. Not even close." I could see a deal to work with them for a mobile console or something.
Gabe Newell is in the top 20 richest people in the world and we don’t know how much he’s actually worth. Just like we don’t know the actual value of valve.
Finally some people with a level head, I’ve seen so many pc players acting like the world is coming to an end, hell I’m an Xbox player and I knew this was bs the second I heard it. All u need is 2 functioning brain cells to realize how stupid this rumor is, but of course it was made up to push more MS hate (not saying anyone should like them)
I find it funny that, people think that Steam...the MOST SUCCESSFUL game distro platform of ALL TIME, would sell to Microsoft. I mean...Our Lord and Saviour Gaben wouldnt do that to us.
Valve will only sell after Gabe dies, mostly because Gabe has shown time to time that he dislike big corporation, not that Valve themselves isn't big but they tiny compared to Microsoft or Apple and Amazon
Dude, Gabe is an MS guy. He is comfortable with promises. No deals, no contracts, not even a hand shake. If he were to sell, MS would be on the short list, and he will likely be looking to get out of the game. Dude spent years in NZ just living life during Covid. He is likely looking to just enjoy the rest of the time he has and I could easily see him cashing out.
PC Game Pass should come to Steam including World of WarCraft and include the Sub into Game Pass. They make more from pets/mounts/race changes than the sub anyways.
I heard this rumor a couple. I'm a gullible s.o.b. but I thought this was b.s. and started laughing about it. I can't believe people really thought this was true. I'm not surprised DreamcastGuy latched onto it. 🙄
Value owns 2 of the biggest eSports. CS and Dota. As well as the largest marketplace for PC games. 16 billion just doesnt even make sense. 16 trillion would make more sense.
A simple google search produced the statistic that, in 2022, Valve generated $13 bn dollars in revenue, that year. How then, would Microsoft acquire the Steam platform for only $16 bn, when Valve makes just a few bn less than that, year over year. Another great video by the way, Alexx!
Dude thats a guess based on analysts, Some had them as low as 6, and some as high as 13. Only the people that work there and probably only a few of them know how much the company made.
I know it's not going to happen, but $16bn for Valve??? that's the lowest of lowballs I've ever seen, you'd have to offer close to what Microsoft paid for ABK for Valve to even CONSIDER selling.
Valve Steam is literally bigger than Microsoft *game store & EGS & GOG & Ubisoft Connect & Origins combined. Valve are doing fine, even if there is AAA game apocalypse. They don't need Microsoft money.
As a console player that isn't a fanboy let me break it down for the fanboys if Microsoft made Gabe and valve an offer it would go down the same way it did when they wanted to buy nintendo and got laughed out of the room
I think that Microsoft just wants to reach an agreement with Valve to bring the store to their platform and they want a way to not compromise their sale, I think what they are looking for is to have part of Valve's shares, because the rumor of Valve reaching Xbox is strong, but Microsoft buying all valve is very unlikely to do so and unnecessary if all they want is to incorporate their store into their platform
Sheep mentality is strong its kinda like with this ac shadows thing, its kinda funny see how something small escalades into something so big just becuse ppl make an echo camber 😅
Well, there is no supporting information to add legitimacy to this and I don't see it happening. But, from what I can find out Valve is recently valued at $8-10 billion. So it would be well within Microsoft's budget. Also, Valve is a private company like Bethesda was, so regulators would have less influence over the transaction. Finally, Gabe is an ex-Microsoft employee and reportedly still has ties and a good relationship with Microsoft.
So is he saying Steam is a bastion attempting to defend gamers against the evil onslaught of publishers and the dark ages? So he admits Valve is the perceived good guy?
So the other day, I went to GameStop, as I always do, to buy some gaming stuff. But when I entered it I was shocked to see gabe newell talking to Phil Spencer. They sat in the furthest corner of the store so no one can see them or hear them. Phil was carrying a black suitcase with him. Gabe was starring at a device, I think it was a white handheld console, I remember it had a white Xbox logo on it. The phill smiled and told gabe, see this old man, this is the future of gaming. All that power in the palm of your hand. Gabe looked up at him and phill opened the suitcase. I think it was filled with dollars. Phill asks, so do you accept the deal ? Gabe was looking at him bewildered and said, I’m not sure about this. I don’t think it’s the best course of action. Then phill smiled even more and offered gabe a 3 pack snickers bar. Gabe was in awe as he didn’t know snickers bars came in a 3 pack. He gently took the bar and smiled back at Phil saying, ok then, it’s a deal. I didn’t even watched the video yet before posting this, I was just curious if dreamcasts story was better than mine
I agree with the statement that Microsoft buying Valve would be bad. However, I have my high doubts that this "rumour" is real. People rightfully called out that since Valve is a private company, that no competition authority can block the purchase. What they fail to realize is that after the purchase, if Microsoft uses Steam/Valve to kill competition in the PC Space, remember Valve is the only company who actually gives MacOS and Linux native access to their platform, then the competition authorities can fine Microsoft and force them to divest either Steam, or even Xbox as a whole. And believe me, they'd have all the ammo possible because Windows is a monopoly, and using Steam to kill off Linux and MacOS gaming would 100% be a violation of anti-competitive practices. What's likely happening, is Microsoft and Valve are getting into an agreement to get Steam on Xbox, and for Microsoft to have a sweet deal from it.
