I didn't know he was special when I was little, I just knew that he was really strong and fun to play with! Roy ALWAYS had few minutes and fee kind words for me. Thank you Roy, from the officer’s kid at the Dog Track who was always so excited to see you. You are just as great of a human being as you are a boxer, your greatest accomplishment.

He had poor boxing fundamentals. He relied on his speed and reflexes, so he kept his hands down, stuck his chin out, and clowned around. Once he started losing his speed, he was easy to hit because he didn't have good fundamentals to fall back on.

Roy Jones Jr. Wasn't shit highly overated, it's hard to believe he's in the hall of Fame of boxer's, he joked and showboated all the time because he knew his opponents wasn't on his level, he wouldn't have done that against someone on his level, he dominated boxing during a cold time in boxing, he never had any grudge matches with someone on his level, any grudge matches he had was against someone who was a nobody, Hopkins and toney were both old and out of shape and washed out, and sadly Roy ended his boxing career on his back.

Me, being 4 years older than Jones Jr. saw his progress from the debacle at the Seoul games of 1988 up through his fall from grace after the second Tarver fight. Jones Jr. always looked "out of this world" versus average to decent competition, and looked "very good" versus highly rated fighters. Although he never KO'd a highly rated fighter that I can think of(Castro, Hopkins, Toney, McCallum, Tarver & Trinidad).

Fastest boxer there ever was. Heavier weight with a minimum weight speed. Also the best 50-0 dude, never avoided any any unbeaten prime challenger and waited till they start declining, just took all that there is and never seen as a ducker. If he hadn't made a mistake going to HW and coming back down, maybe he would arguably be with if not over Ali on the goat list🤤
