Those are not the stock headers. As soon as you fired it up, I knew the exhaust was not stock. I love an M156 with headers. The O2 sensor wires are like that because it needs harness extenders for the rear sensors. That looks to be an American Racing Headers setup. Had the same on my W204. I miss my W204 C63 every day. That CLK63BS likely has around 460 whp
@@czarekaj1098 definitely not the weistec system. Those have a v-band near the collector and shorter runners. ARH has longer runners and even uses the green O2 sensor extenders. Like I said, I had the ARH system. And that system isn’t cheap either. $3500
Bet that thing sounds like NASCAR when you step on it. Thats one thing I love about AMG Benz cars with the V8, you'd think with the overhead cams and stuff they would sound more exotic, but no its just a slightly different riff on that high revving, thundering bass American V8.
Very similar exhaust to my 383 LS1. Headers, high flows, into merge, hotdogs, into rear mufflers. I have an extra 2 hotdogs to make 4 though. Yeah not stock there. Knew it when I saw it and knew it's done right🙄
Remembering how Tyler Hoover was overwhelmed with emotion driving that Mercedes convertible worth millions in California. Car wizard had similar emotions talking about this car. Then he drove it. Probably called Tyler up and said to come see this car. Tyler probably came over and they both cried together seeing the greatness of this car.

I remember that car being one of Jeremy Clarkson’s (of Top Gear fame) favorite cars at the time it was released. He had his sideways with smoke coming from the rear wheel wells…and it looked amazing! A VERY nice car…
If you're watching the wizard then you are a car guy and should know who Jeremy Clarkson is without the ( of Top Gear fame) lol. I will admit I love his new show Clarkson's farm and has nothing to do with cars or anything Grand tour related.
I read Clarkson’s review for the CLK 63 AMG Black. He commented that the only issue he had with the car is that the ride was too hard. So for his CLK 63 AMG Black, he got someone at Lotus to tune the ride.
@Dominick It was 500 HP not 508 as i mentioned. Mercedes is notorious for underrating the HP and Ft-Lb on their cars. Regular CLK63 AMG was rated at 475 HP. This one in the Car Wizard shop is the Black Series. Their prices are now sky high. Another example is 2009 MB SL65 AMG Black series.
Just to let you know, if you have any paid product placements, sponsorships or endorsements, you have to set the option for the video that it includes it or you can get in trouble with RU-vid (and there are people out there who will report videos for the fun of it). So the Vornado thing could get you in trouble, even though you acknowledge in the video that they gave them to you.
@@ElwoodPDowd1970 Yeah, don't want Wizard getting in trouble over something so simple... RU-vid is definitely not helpful in situations like that (they deleted almost 200 of my videos just for getting reported, and never even told me why, which lead to me just quitting youtube)
Is that the one where he burnt the rear tires off it in about a half hour or less. Of course he was driving the thing like a mental patient so that wasn't the cars fault.
@@BA-gn3qb spent almost 40 years in Dallas-Fort Worth area and never saw an air conditioning shop. Now in Southwest Florida and still haven't seen an air conditioned shop including the local Infinity dealer. I imagine an air conditioned shop pays for it by charging the customers 200 bucks an hour for labor.
@@BA-gn3qb building would've had to have been built with air conditioning already in mind. Wizard bought an old warehouse building for a pretty nice price. As the other guy said, no autoshops have AC, it would cost too much money with all of the cars in and out of the shop and hot air moving in. Makes the AC work harder to keep things cool. Just not fiscally possible in a large shop like Wizard's

Front bumper is unique to the Black cos it needs to match the fender flares which aren't on the standard models. 2k is actually very reasonable given its value and rarity.
Long tube headers were NOT stock. Just from you revving it you can tell it's missing a few emissions parts 😅 Also, did you remove the front belly trays? If not then it's definitely missing some pieces.
I was thinking it had to be missing it’s front undertray, the way the ducting we could see was made requires the undertray to flow air properly. I bet the car struggles to cool in Florida summers.
@@bryancohn9406 I would certainly put a wind fin of some sort under there knowing it'll be in FL. 'Assuming there isn't an engine splash shield for it anymore, An air fin or two = up to 50° cooler and no fuel vapor locking issues. Fuel boils at such a low temp.. Also wrap the fuel lines if they aren't upgraded for heat.
Had the pleasure of driving one of these several times a few years ago and I will never forget the experience that this car delivers. Truly my favorite driving experience to this day.
@Dominick sold roughly May 2021 for $14,500. Daddy doug refused to let me put a reserve on the car with carsnbids so I sold it privately. I picked it up for $3400 in April 2020, but did over $10k in documented maintenance. I had a manilla folder containing all the work since new.
I almost bought one of these in 2012 with 65k miles for $51k. Instead I was stupid and bought a 2009 BMW E92 M3 because I wanted a manual transmission. Regrets and the M3 later had rod bearing issues and needed a new motor.

my insanely rich boss in northern germany used to have some special mercedes, i wish i had paid attention to what it was, it also had special seats (this is back early 00's). He just had me chauffeur him and didnt mind me beating the crap on small roads or the autobahn. it was a crap job and i got just as fast out of there in a peugeot 306 :P
Just because something is not Japanese reliable, it doesnt mean its not reliable at all. Stop falling for stupid myths. Mercs are perfectly reliable cars. They just have a very long range of cars and some of them are really bad. The overall reliability of the brand is quite mediocre because of that but they also have some excellently reliable cars as well. You almost can not go wrong with en E Klass for example. Streets here in germany are literally filled with them. 90% of the taxi fleets are E Klasses. Lots and lots of them bordering the million miles while doing a lot of bumper to bumper traffic. Hell, the last gen E Klass was even named the most reliable car in its class by an insurance company study here in germany.
These are everywhere in Europe. EVERYWHERE! My garbageman has one,the guy at the carwash has one. The busboy where i eat has TWO. And the Euro spec ones have 507 bhp.... We use them in demolition derbys,that`s how common they are
I worked as a valet in college and someone drove up in one of these. It was a high school graduation present. It's the only time I've ever seen one in person; the car is amazing.

Coming to the specialists name who build that engine is Johann Schmidt … let me try to write it as you’d pronounce it, Joohaaann Scchmitt, the o is stretched long, as is the a, the double name is short. Schmidt is like the Sch from Schedule, the dt is like a double TT, short. It’s the German short version of Johannes, or ENGLISH for John (joˈhan) Schmitt in English is Smith, I hope it helps. I always remember this car from top gear and the clarkson videos that were done on it, he said that this was actually the stig's favorite car, and it was a proper hoonigan machine, like doctor Jekle and Mr Hyde, a proper german super muscle car, built with all that is good about mercedes and none of the bad, like that is a very lucky man to own that machine lol and clarkson actually bought one I remember, which for a guy who reviews supercars for a living is saying something. and PS thank you misses wizzard, but you did cut off the engine not a little prematurely there at the back end lol like WHOOPS lol
Those headers are aftermarket. AMG did not install full length headers on these stock. The zip tied O2 sensor wires are harness extenders because the long tubes place the sensors farther down the exhaust. Alex from Legit Street Cars installed long tubes on his white AMG. You see the stock ones are shorty tubular exhaust manifolds and a real PITA to install.
I ive in Denmark, and someone in my local area used the have a KLEEMAN tuned version of this Black Series CLK AMG......the thing sounded absolutely insane
As the owner of a "normal' CLK AMG 5.5 this is the holy grail for me. Amazing car. Unfortunately only handful here in Australia and they command crazy money when they turn up for sale. I think Clarkson owned one of these. There was an even more mental version of the CLK called the CLK DTM, sold in Europe only from memory.

That thing is beautiful. I see alot of e92 m3 influence, maybe someone will say I’m stupid and this was designed before bmw designed the e92. I honestly don’t know they both came out around the same time, this clk 63 is a beauty though and I’m sure a lot of fun to drive. I like that “dainty” shifter too.
