The song is mainly about depression, anxiety, etc. and not insanity. Depression makes you feel insane because of how much you think about negativity, along with that is the impulse of wanting to suicide while anxiety has you feeling like you are very different from others and you shut yourselves from people, not wanting to be a bother. Coming from someone who is literally diagnosed with a depression disorder and anxiety disorder who wants to be cured from it as soon as possible, thank you.

i feel like this song is about depression, but it's poorly depicted as "insanity"/"psychopathy" because that's what other people perceive it as. and the ending is how beginning to get better feels, a brief flicker of hope before things go back to being how they were. i could be looking way too deep into this but i've suffered from chronic depression for years and this song is exactly how it feels. becoming distant, fading into nothingness, feeling helpless and alone, everything you could think to do (therapy, medicine, etc.) not working, and eventually just kind of giving up.

I love how everyone who used to listen to this had some kind of creepy pasta phase 😭 I actually discovered this song not too long ago from just seeing it on my recommended but man do I empathize with it. I really don’t think this song is about being insane, it’s about depression and as someone who has MDD this song resonates with me very well. Putting on a fake and happy image in front of family and friends, you wait until everyone is finished with the laughing and talking bullshit so you can finally just run away and break down. “The weight of the air is torture”, you feel awful even getting up in the morning or partaking in anything because you don’t have any motivation to even have woken up. You don’t even wanna hold a conversation with anyone and don’t respond to any messages or calls because to be frank you don’t have the energy to respond and no one checks up on you because you’re afraid you’ll annoy them. Because in reality, nothing caused this. It was your own brain. You just question yourself of why this had to happen, even with nothing going on. Then, something good finally comes. It seems like light is peeking through the darkness at last. But the next moment, you’re just back to your original, depressed, ill state questioning when it will end. It’s quite literally a real life nightmare. The beginning also sounds like it could indicate suicide, talking about a departure and how it was foreseen and “exiting from this fairy tale”. I can’t help but tear up listening to this song because it reminds me so much of my illness and my past attempt and self harm. Thank you for making this, Circus.

Haunting, yet fascinating... I almost would like to dissect the song itself to delve into its true depths, and the singing is just captivating. Its as though I am being intoxicated with its beauty; fantastic, yet very sad. And by god, it uses one of my favorite words; Corruption. I just wish that more people would realize that insanity is not all "fun and games and I wanna be just like Jeff the Killer!"
