Oh myyyygosh! What a coincidence. Just a few days back, like about four days back, I was having this conversation with my husband and I said hey, where the fish... is Shobha De and I was pleasantly surprised to chance upon this episode. I've been delighted to watch her & listen to her. She has always been amazing and I'm thinking that, she's is even better now . A very entertaining episode and I'm simply happy to see, someone I idolised, after a long long time. My day is made.....the year actually. She's so good with words, maybe, Cyrus you must have Tharoor and her in one of your episodes......I was thinking Sabira Merchant too. Am I asking for too much.....no....right.

That's true, people have told me my tongue works like a sword without drawing blood. I think all Satara people are like that, honest and direct, why waste time? Way to go Shobha, my mom is 75 too and rocks at her age, she is way ahead of her times.

The best ending to any podcast / interviews I have heard. And I have heard quite a few. To all the veggies out there - that is the pain of a non vegetarian that you will never understand. I am with you Shobha - not a fan of SRK the actor. his interviews are a treat. It is the same with Shobha as well. Not a fan of her writing , but love her personality and how she has gorgeously paved a path for herself. That voice at 75 . Full love only.

Cyrus you live in Maharashtra so you are a Maharashtrian. It’s as simple as that every person who lives in Maharashtra from any race, religion, caste, creed etc is Maharashtrian. We love everyone and it’s probably only the most secular state in India even with its problems. So do hell with these politicians who wants to divide us. Indian first at heart ❤️

Maharashtra probably the most secular ? I don't think so. The state which has a city called Nagpur which is probably the hotbed of Hindutva movement, had complete dominance of Pakistani Islamist affiliated Mafia gangs in 90s and early 2000s and many other factors. I do agree some of the problems are exaggerated and do not exist now and Maharashtra might be one of the most secular states unlike what many think, but there are probably more secular states in the country, some notoriously secular in some circles like WB and Kerala. I would actually put North East, TN and Karnataka also up there but Maharashtra is indeed more liberal and secular than most. I appreciate the rest of your comment and I didn't want to offend Maharashtrians but just needed to say the above.

Shobha De's father was a judge. For sometime he was posted in Mahad Raigad district. Yes her sister is Mandakini Tata. Manda was my father's classmate and a good friend of his till his demise.

I wonder how a woman so Conscious about her Looks at her Age writes about Food & I wonder how She has not called her Book " Grab The Grub " . Definitely the Famous Two Share the Attitude of " I ( We) Care Two Hoots ....... ". Incidentally Hinglish was introduced & made famous by Bharat Dabholkar's one liner Amul Advertisements.
