Inscryption - Part 12 (ENDING) 

Mark: “I’m not getting rid of wizbot, I’m emotionally attached to him” *everybody loved that*

Grimora felt somber, Leshy felt melancholy, and Magnificus was just like “YUGIOH, BITCH!”

Leshy's part of the end really got to me. You spend the entire beginning of the game seeing him as this scary villain, but by the end you realize that he just wanted to have fun playing this card game with you. Despite the antagonistic role he played at first, that last duel truly feels like sitting down to have one last game with an old friend.

"No matter. We don't need to keep score." At that moment i realized how much Leshy didn't give a hell about what happened. He legit just wanted to enjoy playing a card game. That's probably why Kaycee chose him, because he didn't have some twisted ultimate motive other than to play the game. Whereas P03 wanted to be the center of attention, Grimora wanted to burn it all down, and Magnificus was in a world of his own.

Grimora accepted death, Leshi tried to make the most of the time he had before it, and Magnificus tried to fight against it. Three different reactions to knowing your death is coming.

Leshy's game: A lovely tabletop RPG with intriguing characters. P03's game: An open world RPG with more focus on gameplay than story. Grimora's game: Chess with battling. Magnificus' game: DUEL MAGES!

You know, when you lose against Leshy at that last game, you didn't lose. He will say "Score doesn't matter. Let's keep playing." Got me teared up.

Leshy: "Golly gee I sure did enjoy these last moments, good game" Magnificus: "IM GOING TO SEND YOU TO THE SHADOW REALM. ITS TIME TO D-D-D-D-D-DUEL"

“It’s okay, we don’t have to keep score.” I always liked Leshy, and that line made me realize at the end of the day, he just enjoys his game.

The thing with them all shaking your hand at the end is just general card-player etiquette. After a game, you shake hands. Magnificus crawling his way toward you to shake your hand was him showing his desire to not be seen as disrespectful, even despite how he may have been talking during the game. In the end, it is just a game.

Even after having the scoring system removed and having his cards beaten over and over with the OP Ouroboros, Leshy still shakes your hand and says GG. What a true gamer

Every time Mark shouts ‘DR FIRE ESQ.” I can just imagine PO3 rolling his eyes XD

Leshy's part will always get me. Especially when he asks for "Please, one more round" and his final goodbye. Fuck man. I'M NOT CRYING YOU ARE!

Leshy's ending was so nice. It actually felt like two old friends playing cards.

it really deserved the "Most Innovative Gameplay" award. I'm glad it was nominated at least.

i love how mark felt the same as i did when leshy died. its incredible how they managed to turn leshy into one of the best characters. hes just an ai boi who wanted to play card games in his cabin.

I just realized that Leshy destroys P03 when the game is 69% uploaded. Nice.

Leshy just turning into a guy wanting to play cards with an old friend melted my heart

"We shall both be meeting our makers soon" is such a great line knowing what comes in the ending... it straight up telling you at a time you would ignore it and forget.

I'm not sure if anyone actually noticed this, but when rewatching the video after a while, I couldn't help but feel that when the player shakes Grimora's hand it looks almost apprehensive, like they're afraid they'll dissapear with her, while with Leshy, it feels almost confident, like you're shaking a friend's hand for the last time before they leave... It's just a really neat detail, even if it may just be in my head.

Love how he says Stunted Wolf is Grimora even though Stink Bug is the one always talking about death

i just love how after the duel disk comes out he immediately changes Magnificus' voic3e for the rest of the sequence its so funny

Leshy's part was so reminiscent of how I felt in the last 30 mins of Unus Annus. What a interesting feeling to feel again.

Are we not gonna talk about the absolutely amazing voices he gave the three scrybes when meeting them in the dredger room?

Mark: “I’m not patient enough to sit and wait for this” Also Mark: *tries to brute force his way through a puzzle for 12 minutes*

Mark: "I've combed every inch of this place, there is nothing." Narrator: "He did not comb every inch of this place, for he missed the mycologist."

A game like this only comes once every so often… so good! I wish I got more of Grimora, she seemed to be the wisest, willing to accept fate, kindest to her minions, etc.

I hate how close Mark came to find the secret boss battle by even mentioning that there use to be a way to get mushroom house and I would love for Mark to get more lore playing Kaycee’s Mod and losing his mind on how brutal that can be

Leshy saying “No matter, we don’t need to keep score” was really kind of bittersweet.

The moment Leshy said "It was a good deck. You did well." I just MELTED... it actually got me emotional

What a perfect ending. First a Joke with Grimora Then a sad goodbye with Leshy and last but not least a Yu-gi-oh battle with magnificus

I literally dropped in tears when the last battle with Leshy came to an end, it was too emotional for me to just see Leshy just vanish, it was heart breaking. This game was such an experience and a roller coaster of an emotional journey from start to finish, it was amazing.

What I get from this ending... is the fact that this girl's death was NOT an accident. Maybe she knew some bad stuff going on, and they decided to get rid of her. The fact they killed the Lucky Carder just like this kinda shows it.

Leshy's ending was just so great. It was like visiting an old friend that I haven't seen in a long time and saying goodbye with one last game of cards.

Mark: I know that feeling man. I remember that feeling.. good luck man Also Mark: *Those are scrub numbers babies get those numbers up!*

Magnificus needed to shake your hand because he had to show his honour as he is a person with pride in their game and needs to show his opponent respect as well

Leshy's final game actually made me cry. He was about to be deleted, and still he just wants to play one last game with you as long as he could before he goes.

I don’t know why but when Leshy’s eyes make that rumbling sound when it spins it fits so perfectly with the atmosphere.

Each of the ending fights broke my heart. Grimora knew her time was coming but she thought there was enough time for a fun boss fight Leshy kept playing with you after the game became unplayable, simply because he knew it would be his last Magnificus was fighting for his life the only way he knew how and, even after struggling against you, still wanted to give you a proper goodbye And all the while the game gave you a sense of how the other scribes would have welcomed you to their tables as game masters You neither defeated nor lost to any of them, they just wanted to play using whatever time they had left.

"Once you take away the score the game sort of becomes pointless" What a masterpiece.

At 54:21 Leshy says “There never seems to be enough time to do the things you want to do once you find them.” I’m pretty sure that is a reference to the song Time in a Bottle.

Somehow, i always felt as if Leshy was the most sincere among the other Scrybes. From how he told the story of your character trudging through the maps he had made, the little encounters he made along the way, even how he sets up the scene for battles from normal encounters to boss fights. In that moment, it felt as if he was just a Dungeon Master trying to immerse us, the Player, in his world. He is twisted and unhinged in some aspects, as shown with what he does to your avatar whether you win or lose, along with how damage is calculated by Teeth and even Eyes on the scale, to even photographing his fellow Scrybes into playable cards. But ultimately, i felt that he was the only one who was genuine with his intentions. He just wanted to play with us, and build a world with which we can play in. Man i wish there was more to this game... maybe we could play a full version of it with whatever is inside OLD_DATA becoming a final boss that we can beat to show our worthiness as a Scrybe. I know this is probably a mediocre idea, but... at least for me, i'd prefer it rather than have an entire world full of possibilities just.. die. Sorry, this isn't a complaint on the story of game. This was a beautiful and ultimately gut wrenching tale of loss and the acceptance of it. It's just that... i wonder what the game would have looked like if we could play it like just a normal game

Leshyyy :( out of all the phases his was truly my favorite, the effort he put into characters and bosses was phenomenal. I would have loved to see Grimora's pirate though.

This game was phenomenal, I absolutely enjoyed every second of Mark's playthrough Leshy's final goodbye made me cry, in the end all he cared about is playing those last few rounds, it would've been nice to get a bit more of the others but it was fun to see how they would've played at least I really need to try this game out for myself, and the way it ended just left me speechless, bravo

Mark's Yu-Gi-Oh voices were exactly what I needed to cheer me up after Leshy's segment.

WAS NOT READY for the feels Leshy brought on. I. WAS NOT. READY.

the main things you missed, from what I remember are: - the final holo-pelt, of course - solving the goo mage puzzle (I think at least one of the other sigils is in the cuckoo clock in p03's room) - the key you received from the mycologists in act 2 can be used to access a "secret boss" in act 3, via a hidden arrow - accessing the secret crypt in grimora's lair in act 2 (the relic you got can be used as an offering to access it) there's no other ending to the game (though things maybe slightly different depending on what you have/haven't completed, I'm not sure). the one you got is the true ending though, despite missing a few things. ALSO, the dev has released an official mod for the game, called "kaycee's mod", that basically turns the first act of the game (leshy's cabin) into an actual infinite roguelike. it's currently in beta and new stuff is being added pretty consistently. it's very fun, and I think you'd enjoy it!

It's amazing how Leshy feels like a villain in the beginning. It feels like he's holding you in purgatory because of his sadistic ways, but you later realize he did it just because he loves playing card games. At the end of the world, he would like to do nothing else.. than play cards. The Guardian of a terrible truth. I think we all mistook you for a Villain, Leshy, And I'm so sorry. And now, at the end of times: we realize you were the Hero. Good Game, my friend.

Mark's introduction of Dr. Fire Esquire really feels like a Hearthstone legendary card being played

Watched Mark play through this entire thing, about 12 hours at this point and I STILL really want to get it. That's how you know it was made well. I can't wait to build my own deck and meet Leshy, myself :)

Leshy's ending was so sad, seeing all those original cards just went on for the last time

There's always a lingering sad feeling whenever Mark finishes a series that you enjoyed watching. That was a good run.

The Lonely Wizbot survived, by the way. He was trained for oblivion, and deletion seems pretty similar to that.

2nd time watching this I still cried even knowing how it ends

I love the ending credits with the lonely wizard, perhaps this is just head cannon but maybe, just maybe the reason he's on the ending credits is because of Magnificus' "training" (torture) of sensory deprivation allowed him the ability to survive in true nothingness, as in the game itself got deleted and he's all that's left since he's all that's able to comprehend and understand nothingness (in this case deletion).

Mark being somber and enjoying his game with Leshy was the best part of this whole series in my opinion. He wanted company and in the end we were there with him as old friends.

The end of Inscryption feels a lot like the end of Unus Annus. Approaching the end, everything slowly starts getting deleted, and no matter what you do, it will all be deleted. You just relive the hits and relish in the time you had.

Seeing him battle Magnificus made me laugh so hard, "it's over kiaba"

am i the only who started crying when mark said " goodbye leshy" something so painful yet sad to let go. one of my favorite series mark has ever done.

PO3: Which card do I scrap? Mark: I'm thinking about fishbot. Didn't really grew an attachment to him. PO3: Which one do you hate? Fishbot: "choose me." Mark: Well HE volunteered

Leshy and his section in the game will always be my favourite, it's got so much character it's hard to not love him. His final fight is really just there to make sure you get hit right in the feels

“You’re like the 4 chaos gods, you are all just awful” is the quite an accurate comparison I think lol

So no one’s going to talk about the fact, that this poor man, who was just a card set opener, had investigated this cursed game he didn’t understand trying to find out what was so special about it, only for it to cost his life in the end. I know the main game characters have meaning, but this entire time I feel so bad for The Lucky Carder… to draw that one unlucky IRL card. I gotta admit I jumped when that happened, I did not expect him to get literally shot.

Hi, yes, my heart is broken. Also even though P03 was kind of a jerk, I feel a little bad we didn't get more of an ending with him. The Leshy bit with him was excellent, don't get me wrong... But imagine how it'd feel if we went to go against P03 and his head was just there, broken? And there was nothing to do? I feel like that would've been nice, idk

This game had so much more to it than I ever thought it would have.

Despite having watched through this whole series before playing the game for myself, I still legitimately teared up at Leshy's ending. The music and atmosphere just hits so hard. What a game.

This was one of the coolest games I think I've ever seen him play. So happy he got through the whole thing.

I love Leshys ending, it’s so perfectly sad, leshy is proven time and time again to be the least of the 4 evils. He’s perfectly content to just chill in his house and play cards with passerby, and really what’s some magic camera murder among friends am I right?

The fact that this game's lore included an arg with real buried floppy disks in the coordinates Luke mentions is really fascinating. So much effort put into this game.

It feels kinda nice that the devs have implemented an endless mode now, leshy gets to forever enjoy the games he wanted to last a bit longer.
