@@limboprime5926 wasnt the arg solved? I havent seen anything about the details of the ARG(and im not one to actually try and solve it, im just gonna wait for someone to make a yt vid explaining the whole thing), but i seem to remember someone saying the ARG got solved at some point
Upon seeing the game I actually thought how cool it was if this was actually made irl, i never knew anyone will actually do it. Bravo I can’t wait to see where this would go
This video is inspiring me to do so, although i plan on doing a different section of the game :) it would be cool if 2 other people did the other sections of the game, so it could come together into 1 big game
i would recommend using magnetic paper! it comes in roles and would be perfect for cutting out the card shapes, it should be significantly easier than using the strips like you are!
This is sick man, honestly if you’re able to you should totally try and hit up the Inscryption team because this is legendary, I’d play this without a doubt
omg this is amazing! it's exactly what i thought about when i was playing inscryption. it looks so good the cards you drew so accurately, the only thing missing now is a cabin and leshy lmao
This looks amazing! I grave a few questions (nothing bad just questions) are you planning on making a board/map, totems, items or anything else? How would you implement those? Are you planning on making bunches and releasing them publicly? This looks amazing and I have NO idea how you did this but I can’t wait to see what you do with this!
you're genius! I'll be glad if you will start to sell this board game in real life! I like this game, but it's sad, that I can't play it with my friends, for example.
I work for a company who specialises in magnets actually, have you thought about using magnet foil? Same principle as the magnet strips but lighter and slightly more flexible. Also you can cut it to whatever shape you want. Keep us updated, because i want to know how this project will go!
This is a great idea but wont the cards stick together in a deck. A lower comment mentioned putting a thin metal sheet in all the cards so they don't stick together but the sigils are still magnetic so they stay connected
@@TheDerpyDeed lol then why not making even the robocards and use real bolts for the act 3? That would be a really nice idea, having the possibility to play in both act 1 and act 3 :)
Is inscription becoming the new DND? I swear if you were to talk to the game developers and fine tune this and sell it I'm sure you could get a lot of money from it. I'd love to play this
It'd be awesome :P I can imagine it being expensive though, a lot more is needed just for a single card Edit: I guess metal cards with magnetic sigils would work maybe? It would probably be cheaper.
You are not the only one. It looks so good and daaaamn I want some. And as some say, speak with the developers of Inscryption. They'll be thrilled for the idea
They did tease it in a way actually, in one of the spoilers: secret videos, the lucky card guy was actually doing a inscryption card opening video, implying that they did make real life cards, which might imply a card game in the future?
I was thinking for things like Ouroboros, where they can gain insane amounts of attack/health, you could use little whiteboard magnets so that you can write in the value then stick it onto the card
However, if were keeping the immersion and artstyle consistent. Maybe 6 sets of number magnets can be included. But maybe its better to just cap the amount of strength/health the ouroboros can have in a real game. Buffing the ouroboros to 999 seems like a boring mechanic to deal with irl.
@@thatoneswarmdrone6409 there is a cap for unbuffed cards, the most amount of health a lane can have with normal cards is 14, 2 urayulis one behind the other, if you wanna one shot the moon you can also go up to 40. anything more than that can't possibly make a difference unless you're giving leshy buffed cards or adding your own cards to the game
personally i love the idea of the cards being magnetic - its so much smoother than sticky stuff that would lead to both the cards getting grosser to hold over time, and the sigils losing the ability to actually attach to the cards as the sticky stuff gets peeled/rubbed off. sure, the cards may be a bit heavy, but personally i like how that sounds. almost like the weight of the cards is the weight of the life you are about to play..or some other poetic/symbolic statement you could make about that. deffinetly keep working on these!! this is a super cool project !!
i absolutely feel the same! i love the sound when the sigils attach. my current setup isn't optimal, it's fiddly. i think i have a solution for this; less fiddly and more magnetic. but it's more expensive... i'll post an update video of this soon, keep an eye out 🔪 ;)
In mosts board games, heavier and thicker "cards" (like hexagons in Catan/Suburbia) made with cardboard seems more important stuff which would be used everytime in a game session, so a heavy card would seem like an important card each time you play them
Magnetic cards are indeed cool and the heaviness is neat and adds to them I was the right age for Bakugan as a kid, which worked with magnetic cards, so I can attest! xD
Honestly the imperfections that don't impare your ability to use a card is fine. A lot of inscryption felt home made, stitched together, or otherwise imperfect or unprofessional in style. So slight bumps, slight drawn things, and such fit the style of inscryption well in my mind. Wonderful job prototyping this stuff.
I feel like inscryption should be an actual game that comes with a “starter pack” that includes a pack with a few weak cards like that you get at the beginning of the game, a balance, a couple balls for the balance, and a map so that the “leshy” can draw your path. Then you can get booster packs which include stronger cards like ourabourus and amalgamation, as well as magic packs and bone packs and technology packs like the ones you use in act 2. Just my take on what it’d be like.
I wanna play this game irl so badly, but even if there is an irl game of this, I dont have anyone to play with because no one I know will be interested in this...
Love the idea of using magnets to add sigils and such. Brilliant! One idea I think you might like (or dislike): if stacking the creature cards in a deck becomes cumbersome and awkward because they all magnetically attract one another, try lining them with a sheet of metal instead of magnetic tape. That way, they can still attach to the magnetic sigils, but not to each other. I can imagine it would be very annoying to try and peel or slide them off the deck just to draw a card. I remember the Bakugan card game did that back in the day (I don't know if they still do, it's been years. But it is to my understanding that the game has made a comeback recently). This can also help reduce the card's thickness if you so desire, and can help keep the card's overall profile nice and even without any bumps. If you want to give this idea a go, try to look for springy sheet metal, so they don't bend out of shape as easily. Anyway, keep up the good work. Can't wait to see where this goes :D
@@vladde i'm late to the party, but if you dont mind my asking, what metals were you able to find? on amazon i was only able to find a singular one foot sheet (instead of bulk), which doesn't seem all that sustainable for a full deck, let alone multiple sorry for any bother !
well I think it will be way harder to get a good deck cause you have to choose the sigil and choose if you want a copy. And I don't think theirs a card limit on the actual game
Have you thought of using a steel mesh within the cards, and have the sigils be magnetic? It might make it thinner as well as more uniform in their texture.
This would be so cool, imagine being like the antagonist of the game, teaching your friends how the game works and watch them slowly get better, them going through the events of the game like the trapper and campfire and having the masks of the bosses and others in the game and creating your own bosses for your friends to fight.
Have you thought about trying iron foil instead of magnet strips inside the cards? I imagine it should be thinner and allow for better-feeling cards, as well as avoiding a side effect of the deck getting sticky and hard to shuffle with each other.
this idea might be the best alternative. an iron foil would also be much lighter and you wouldnt have to create a seal around it with the cards like you do with the magnetic tape because the iron foil can be so incredibly thin that you basically couldnt see it if you just sandwiched it in between two layers of cards. it might even be cheaper than magnetic tape too and iron foil usually comes in much larger sizes so with the foil you *COULD* actually do the strategy of making cards here 3:39 but wouldnt run into the problem of the Wolf card @ 4:13
@@King.-Arthur if there was like, not a lot of foil yeah, but if we're talking an entire layer that's between the two layers of the card that is as big as the card itself it should be fine
if he was to do this there would still be an issue of getting the glue or adhesive perfectly smooth on the front and back card plates honestly the best method would be positive polarity magnetic dust mixed in with glue for the card and negative polarity magnetic dust mixed with glue for the sigil but to ground magnets fine enough to feel nice to do something like that would be expensive (he might be able to find something on the internet but he would probably need both positive and negative grounded magnets cause otherwise it probably be strong enough half way)
This is incredible I love this project I can’t wait to see what happens next. If I were you I wouldn’t use the sticky stuff I would stay with the magnets, sometimes it’s nicer to have heavy cards it’s a little cathartic to place them when there heavy. and also sticky stuff would just feel unpolished and possibly leave residue on the cards.
If the sticky stuff is used, it possibly would require a laminated surface to make it easier to clean residue and not damage the card. At least that’s the best way to make the cards work without the magnetic tape and even then it will have its own issues…
I would like to see Inscription to be turned into an actual TCG. However, despite your magnet cards being a flipping brilliant idea, I think it would make them a bit too expensive to mass-produce. My idea is to just officially sanction sleeves with the bonus sigils on those sleeves
I like the idea, but talking Game balance, if the sleeve doesn't fit seemlessly, or shines differently than a regular card, a player could tell that they're about to draw they're upgraded dude.
If I remember rightly, Act II (which is the closest to a 'true' version of the game before Leshy's takeover) doesn't involve any sigil manipulation. And it doesn't have any card manipulation beyond turning a couple specific duplicates into a Merged version. So if that's the Act used as a base for what in-universe Inscryption is 'normally' (remember, the game disk was found in a booster pack of Inscryption cards and the guy was already familiar with what the card game was) they could probably just make regular cards.
@@TheRealPentigan True, + it'd make sense in lore since Inscryption only had one run, as in, it was only manufactured once, that's why Lucky Carder made time and time again to say they're rare.
I imagine the tcg would be like a two sided tournament chart. If you win you can progress while also getting to ubgrade your cards like in the game. And the two finalists at the end of the charts will duke it out on the finals
I think Bakugan did the magnetic-core card thing, too. It was hit-or-miss with the gameplay of rolling spring-loaded marbles onto them to make them pop open, but since you're just directly placing the sigils and numbers on the cards, it's more stable here... Also +1 for the "I have a mighty need for official Inscryption cards" crowd.
I really want this to be an IRL DnD Card Game. I can just imagine me or one of my friends playing as Leshy with all the masks he would wear and everything. Oh, and a suggestion... I think you should make the game map magnetic also, since the game map in Act 1 also randomized. And a photo of a specific card placement like the one you can find in the cabin which gives you bonus items to help you through the game. (The clover, the bee figurine, etc)
Honestly. THOSE ARE PERFECT and from a perspective of a board game designer this is super smart way to do the sigils. If you ever want to consider to make those as a real card game or a real life version of the card game from all chapters you should contact a game creator and just do it with his blessing. I would also love to help with this type of project
About the misaligned cards, I would say to not be so scared of them, they can add character to the card. For example the Cat you showed, you had to draw the top and it didn’t really look much different if you didn’t point it out. The cards already are designed to look handmade, so mistakes like that arnt something to be entirely afraid of
So the issue I'm seeing with using magnets/putty/velcro is that you could easily run out of sigils/numbers. I think a good idea would be to make laminate cards with no numbers and ink stamps. That way you can use the sigils and number so to change as many cards as much as you want, and changing them would be easier.
A lot of Inscruption is going up amd down, like you have to track health and buffs, so while a stamp would make it appear better, youd have to kepe wiping everything off and restamping
Imagine one day this becomes available in stores: in a card pack, and every card pack has those 2-3 adding sigils. I would be like: "shut up, and take my money!" Like imagine the possibilities: combining D&D and card games. Also it would be nice to have the other Scribes deck's, that are a bit more completed than in the act 2. I don't need to mention how every Scribe has different special play off abilities (beast cards could be stiched with sigils, by sacrificing... Magnificus had the ability to erase and draw abilities with magic. Grimora could undead the card, and po3... Well po3 is kinda wasted potential. I think po3 is the most boring Scribe since like a robot he can't create anything new, only what already exists.)
Combining DND and card Game is called Magic : the Gathering They are made by the same company and we've recently got a Forgotten Realm set of Card, with creature such as Drizzt and Minsc.
They probably meant more so gameplay wise, since there’s a “DM” in inscryption rather than just two players. MTG is fun tho, need to get back into it smh
i feel the reason has to do with their roles in universe for the creation of the game. Leshy capture the likeness, cost, and maybe the stats of the creatures, Grimmora did unwritten abilites, the rules of the game, and stats (if leshy isn't responsible for them), Magnificus did all the sigil abilities, and po3 created dupicates. effectivly po3 had no role in the creation of the cards other than how many there were. kinda sad when you think about it.
@@Dratspider that makes a lot of sense. I had similar thought, but it wasn't yet crystallised like your was. I didn't want to give it to much effort since inscryption is a game that leaves a lot of things unsaid. One of the thoughts is the significance of number 4. There are 4 scrybes, in mythology there are 4 archangels... The world is empty and dull until they show up, bringing creation, or at least locking creation inside cards... It's all Genesis like. The player is presumably God, as he is stronger than any of the 4, and game only exists because of him. The tarrot card reading: the tower (triangle, "three deities" the ones responsible for the creation, the tarrot reading of the card is destruction of order, meaning they fell apart) The three persons from the triangle are most probably: 1.The Fool: Barry who didn't outlive his plot... I would say his death involves a cliff, as it bears a meaning to a tarrot card. Also he is probably the reason why they fell apart and because of that his own undoing, since the fool signifys a new beginning. He heard something "Big Ear". He stole a disk and crossed the sea woth it. 2. The Empress: "with the power of triangle she helped to create inscryption" there are two interpretations: 1. She is a part of the triangle, and alongside other two she is responsible for the creation. 2. Barry the fool entrusted the disk to her, and she helped finalise the game, the game that we see. Eather way her card signifies creativity. The birth of creation. One that gives form. "Her name was the only inscrybed one." - She is the only one with a finished product and the first one to test it out, before her death. In a game the ghoul is hit by an ice shard, in real life she died in a fire... Ironic. 3. The Devil: and it's creation OLD_DATA (death) the Karnofel Code, the one whose evil inspired the Scyrbes eniminity. I would also like to add that each Scrybe has his own will, that most probably comes from the data: Leshy: to make player's into: cards; beasts; things. Probably the essence of what the Karnofel code does. Manipulates people into things. PO3: the will to replicate. He wants to spread inscryption to everyone. Grimora: the will to die. Every creation must come to an end. A mercy of sort for endless malignity. She is most probably representation of Data's selfawareness. It knows what it can do, and resents it. Magnificus: the will to survive: or rather the plea for one's life. His "terrible wish" mentioned by bridge builder is most probably achieving immortality. If he becomes immortal, that would mean the immortality of Inscription and thus the old data. He already experimented on his students. He gave each a dimension of suffering for eternity. They achieved eternal life but at a price: I would even say their suffering fuels the magic of gems. His goal is pretty much solidified by sybolism of his inscybing item: the brush, as painting something makes it immortal. When we Cobine the wishes of the Scyrbes we get basic principles of a living thing. Wish to change things in its environment, to reproduce, to die, and to become immortal. Those last two are at first sight the two opposites, but they are also very intimate (Magnifus letter to Grimora) as they are opposite sides of the same coin. Magnificus is high above in a tower, Grimora is below ground in a crypt.
honestly I would buy these real fast. my boyfriend and I love playing tabletop games together, but any roleplay stuff usually takes a lot of energy to prepare and a lot of card games have the problem the they're kinda driven by their booster packs, which can get expensive over time. I think a complete set of like the first game cards for a hefty price like 100€ (or probably more, seems like a lot of work) and then separately sold sets for card types in later game (think each scrybe could have an own set, but idk if the cards after that differ enough to sell them extra) would be a neat way to break it up and let people build their own experience also also I think this would do great on etsy, but idk if the game devs would be okay with that
If you put this on sale on ebay or whatever you wish, I would be SO willing to buy it. This is amazing and I love what you did with the sigils; Seriously, brilliant idea.
Yo, this looks really cool, but the squirles when given an aging sigil become elder squirreles or smth like that. So it would need a magnet at the top. Regardless tho, this is awesome!
I feel like it would probably be better to switch it out with a whole elder squirrel card rather than add another layer but that's just my experience with other card games.
After playing the game, as an artist all i could think about was designing and making the game in real life so im so freaking happy this video popped up for me!! I cant wait to see how it turns out💜
looks really good, I think you should rather keep the magnets than making the sigils sticky, because even reusable sticky stuff usually gets worse over time and sometimes leaves gluemarks
This is amazing, I became a massive fan from watching Markiplier and ManlyBadassHero so this game is incredible to me. Now that I see this amount of care with extraordinary levels of creativity with the sigils and card designs officially blew my mind, if there is a link to a kickstarter or even immediately on store shelfs then know I will be one of the first to purchase the cards at full price.
This definitely works for the D&D feel of the game personally I've been thinking of rebalancing and printing some out to make it a functional competitive card game. I think the idea has a strong framework for the purpose, but you'd have to get rid of the turn 1 wins or at the very least make them insanely convoluted to make it a fair game. If you balanced out the positives with some negatives I could even see the totems being something that could be brought into a real version of the game for a dynamic touch
I think this game only works as a d&d style rpg, building your deck and buffing your cards is the most fun part imo. Maybe you could make a competitive game with multiple rounds where you have events in between where players add more cards to their deck, buff them, sacrifice them, etc
Im making my own cards, but without magnets and a middle layer of thin cardboard, I’m planning on using the gum you talked about for health damage and sigils. This also takes a lot of time but probably less than doing it with magnets. If I get REALLY invested in this I’m planing on 3D printing totems and masks for all of Leshy’s characters, but doubt I will ever get that far. This was really cool tho, kinda wish I thought about magnets but also kinda glad I didn’t, good luck onwards!
This is so cool, might be hard to make the complete set because the majority of cards are modular and it would require a lot of magnet and printed cards but you already did a lot. Thanks for sharing your ambitious project.😉❤️
You can also create some death cards.Just make a blank card even without a picture.Make some magnetic faces and other cosmetics. And when you die you pick some random cards and make a death card.(I think cosmetics are not really needed but that’s a one way to make them always look different)
Oh my god, when I saw this game, I instantly thought "it would be so cool if there would be a real life board game of this game. But I wonder how would you make it"
Maybe instead of magnets, you could use static stickers/clings so that the cards aren't heavy, won't get sticky, and then you don't have to put anything in the middle of the cards. I have a board game that uses these to cover tiles, with them sticking really well. I'm fairly certain that they will stick to the cards. You might not see this but I thought I would just through it out there.
i dont think its a good idea because those stickers lose most of the sticking power if they get dusty or dirty and the game shold be build as solid as possible :D
Seeing as the terrain cards just sit idly on the field, are never in your hand, and only gain modifiers from other cards placed next to them, you could just place the modifiers and health updates on top of them without the need of magnets.
Yeah, there's probably gonna need to be some restrictions set. Don't want people to be using some of the more BUSTED card/sigil combos in the game and whatnot.
For the numbers of attack and defense, maybe try using a erasable pen, instad of magnets, it could be more simple for having them, I think too many magnets for one card would be kinda complex to manipulate while holding a full deck
Uhh.... sorry to be " over critical" , but.... it appears your doing it wrong. : / Assuming your going with the " leshy " version of the cards, the proper material, is parchment or vellum. If you find that somehow to " gross" , bleached kambucha leather could be used as a substitute. : / As for the " sigils" .... there stamps. Plain, old, postage style stamps. While difficult to remove from regular paper, they hold tight, but, are still EASILY removed, from parchment, vellum, or kambucha leather. : ) This is ALSO how the cards survive, being stabbed, skewered by the fisherman's hook, having there numbers changed ( via parchment scraping) , and, being hit with the pick axe, as, you can repair that sort of parchment / vellum, with a little plant latex, or, fill it with " untanned" kombucha. The " magnet" approach, is more appropriate to the " computer" section, alongside using the " bk digimon" style tin cards, with etched aluminum holograms. This approach explains; The campfire ( making the ink run with heat, which also decreases the " sturdyness" of the vellum) The " brown" ish color The fungal doctor ( kambucha is a yeast culture, easily mistaken for a fungus) And, why so much of the " leshy" section, is focused on " meat". The hardest part, is actually converting some of the " tools" your allowed to use over. Fortunately, there's a solution; The " knife" , is replaced by a prop, as figured, that contains some of that " electric joke gum" in it. Its placed against the eyelid, as a sort of " test of courage " , that, while being non harmful, may be a bit scary, then, an eyepatch is applied, till the end of the round. The " pliers" , are a little trickier.... Baisicly, hook up a " squeeze " stepup motor, to a flashlight crank. The number of " teeth" earned, is equal to how many squeezes someone can give the crank, letting the motor " zap" them, in a five second interval. The rest should be fairly simple. : ) However, for style, material strength, and portability, I DOrecommend, making the cards a bit " smaller" , when.... .... When , making.... , the.... .... The.... .... , ... , .... , ... , The.... the.... , ... , .... , ... , The.... g.... , ... , .... , ... , G.... game ..... : /
Idea for lighter cards that can still be modified: have the modifiers be a folded piece that has two magnets, so the magnets pinch the card and hold on.
this is AMAZING dude, the idea of magnetics cards is so cool! i really dont mind if its heavy, it actually makes the cards feel more unique! id absolutely love to get a deck like this, great stuff!
Was really hoping to see [Smoke] and [Greater Smoke] May I suggest giving the creatures a bit of invisible UV paint/ink where the glowing would appear when empowered? ... Also, since he's not alive/awake, shouldn't your Stoat's eyes be closed like in the tutorial? :P
The creators of the game should watch this, and take you idea (but credit you in the box so it isn’t plagiarizing you) and you should also do the same thing with the bottom corners because whenever you cut and combine them, or when you raise them above the fire you improve them…
All I have to say is I hope you finish these cards I always like card games like this and if you finished these I'd probably be buying a ton of them just so I can play against other people with them you're doing a great job and I hope you keep it up
So I just picked up this game recently and I love tcg. What I could recommend doing for sigil is to create sleeves with all the different sign on them or even simpler just put the card in the sleeve and slip the sigils in. Like changing power and defense is minor. You can use dices to indicate damage points. That's just how I would do it as I'm used to it from playing MTG lol
That could work. Alderac Entertainment Group, or AEG, is known for their printed transparent sleeves. They use them in a lot of their board/card games like Mystic Vale, Edge of Darkness, and Custom Heroes.
Oh my god, I was just thinking the other day how cool a physical card game would be! The magnetic sigils are genius and I would absolutely buy this game in a heartbeat!
If you want to make bones more simplified for the physical version; you can count bones using a graveyard instead of bone counters. The side effects are when using a rat king's bones, you use them all even if it's less than 4. Another side effect is that death recurring card don't give bones so you can't get infinite bones from infinitely sacing creatures. That is assuming you don't use counters.
ooh, that's a nice idea. i still havn't though too much about how the gameplay would be, but that is definitely a nice idea! i'm actually planning to make bone coins from wood. i have a contact who has access to a large machine which can laser cut in large sheets of wood, and i could probably get around 100 or so coins from one sheet :) (we've done something like that in the past for another project)
Idk I thought people would just use coins for bones... because if someone makes a whole set(cards, bones and totems) the amount of bones will be limited.
@@uteriel282 I know, but unless you play mtg then you won't have enough tokens on you. Plus it's more convenient to use your discard pile that's just sitting there to count bones.
Have you thought of using standard quality playing cards with zero glue gravity grip stickers? Not sure how much the price of manufacturing would differ but you'd get the normal thinner cards that you can still modify to your cards content hundreds of times with no damage. Pretty sure because the stickers would.Be no glue you'd also not have to worry *too* much about storage. Just have them in a box and they shouldn't get clogged with any dust and the likes? (this is just an assumption, have never worked with gravity grip stickers before but they seem like the perfect fit for this project). The cards in game imo look like standard american so 57x89 (standard being 63x88). Just if you want to get ot reaaaallllyyyy accurate with the actual game haha! Can't wait to see what you make out of this you have all of my support!!
This is amazing to see, Inscryption's card game was something I could actually see myself playing, seeing someone bringing that to life, and in such an ingenious way, is incredible
You know, I've been spending the last week thinking about how to accomplish this! This was the best idea that I could come up with also! Great to see such progress! Keep it up!
This seems really interesting - good work on the cards, can't wait to see what's coming! I know playtesting is a bi far off, but there's definitely some balancing that needs to be done when building decks. I was thinking of some sort of power system (dunno how exactly it would be implemented) with adding Sigils onto cards and a fixed number of non-Squirrel cards. And, of course, an outright ban on some game-breaking combos. Corpse Eater + Unkillable and Unkillable + Fecundity are utterly busted and no fun to play against.
@@nothing982 That's the strange part of balance with this game, it's a single player experience where you are meant to overcome the opponent. So balance isn't meant for fair 1v1 encounters. I think the best way to balance this is keeping that idea in mind and designing in a fair imbalance. From the gameplay I've seen, the enemy dude gets to mess with the setups or premises of matches, but the player gets tools to swing the balance midcombat. So, the gameplay should be designed with that dichotomy in mind, if there is a set ruleset. The "enemy" player might draw from a deck of gimmicks allowing them to skew the premise of a round in their favor, and the "player" player accumulates tools to use over the course of a game. The "enemy" wins if the player doesn't reach the end, and the "player" wins if they do reach the end. (btw please no spoil i still have to play this)
@@SrKing-dm4ku The game sort of already has that imbalance, where the player gets to use a totem every fight, whereas the enemy can only use it on specific fights, but the enemy can always play any card without playing the cost - like playing a bone card on the first turn I think the odds are skewed in the player's favour because cards can be improved throughout the run in various ways. I think in an actual card game this would be hard to make fair, so maybe instead of campfires etc, there would be more opportunities to remove cards you don't want in your deck (maybe a new trader type character?) I like the idea of a set of sabotage cards though, sounds interesting
Instead of using magnetic cards you could make a magnetic playing field. You could have the board be magnetic so that when you wanted to put a sigil on a card it would be attracted to the board. This would make the cards lighter, cheaper, and faster to make.
Maybe you could use non magnetic aluminum foil or aluminum tape for the cards and use the magnetic tape in the sigils so the cards don't stick together and are lighter
You mind selling these at some point like I think if you asked the developers they would be very happy with luncheing this idea as they have said I believe there open to making it a trading card game and adding new cards
