Beginning is the mouth of LM River....and i know the spot right where you started. I remember when that little island was merely a scraggly mangrove bunch holding onto a oyester bed...good spots all along those entry channels to those backwater areas too
Very nice video! I’m new to Tampa bay and I’m struggling to find good spots to fish... what would you recommend ? I’ve tried cockroach bay Apollo beach by the power plant and Ruskin south shore and nothing... can you share with us at least 1 good spot please ?
Awesome video! I fish Englewood and Boca Grande a lot so I am big on snook fishing too. Were you using the helmet strap for this video? I have been getting back into posting on RU-vid lately and was just wondering since I use a gopro. Tight lines!
I use kast king braid.have had zero issues with it.better than the big braid names.softer and cast better and farther.not to mention the price.dont always need the big name stuff but if people wanna blow their money go ahead.
Yes not so much gill nets that I can tell but they are running large nets in an open bay and picking everything up. It happens every year in this area. They have been caught before but they just laugh at law enforcement telling them that they will pay the fine and be right back out there. Very frustrating to say the least.
Tampa Bay Fishing Channel Surprised that they are not placed in jail or their boats seized. I have heard of boats being seized for a single overslot fish.
Yeah they get about a $4000 fine pay it and go on their way. But I heard straight from an FWC guy that one guy finally pissed him off enough and got him a year in jail. But that was a while ago.
+Tampa Bay Fishing Channel $4, 000 is not a large enough fine, it should be a bare minimum of $25,000 if you ask me plus seizing there boat if it goes over maybe 3 violations and jail time. Something that will impact their wallets and freedom. FWC is getting to be better in patrolling the water ways and enforcing the statutes however they do not make the laws or determine the fines. Many with massive sized nets and boats, have the money to laugh in the face of the FWC, this is why I think the fines should be much higher while using the three strike law that has been set in Florida for criminal convictions to increase imprisonment.
Yes we are fishing all backwater areas this time of year. I look for areas where the water has a dark bottom and will heat up quicker than the surrounding areas.
Tampa Bay Fishing Channel H Katica I use rodnreel.com for the tides and solunarforecast.com for the solunar tables. And thanks for the kudos on the channel. We are really having a good time filming every week!
