black smoke indicates the presence of unburned or partially burned fuel. The most common cause for this is overloading, sometimes referred to as over fueling because more fuel is fed into the engine than it can efficiently burn or when the yacht is on acceleration Today we have new technology that can fix all that like Kræn Vodder Busk’s software

I'm always surprised and somewhat disappointed by how few "guests" these massive yachts seem to be able to "host". Only 36 guests in this case? I suppose that means there are only that many luxury beds available (as opposed to however the crew sleeps).

Due regulation. More passengers then they are required to have life boats just like the big passenger ships. That comes with invasive ugly and also time-consuming in yearly inspections and tech checks. It sure as hell take more passengers but it is rated for 36. I think the 36 is applied only to paying passengers. Like. If the charter the boat. For family and owner i think they are allowed to sleep more. But this is uncertain so dont take that last part as fact.

@@efg9351 maybe a crew of 400 ( keep in mind most of those crew are for the passengers, not the operations of the ship) maybe 200 for the ship and 200 for guest support would be more like it.

@@dorothygale1104 I was referring to a yacht the size of sympathy of the seas. I'm aware of the crew size roughly for a cruise ship and a yacht. So I'm just going off a guess the crew requirements for a yacht the size 200k gt would be around 400. With half for ship operation and half to care for the guests ( again assuming it's only around 40 passengers or so). Maybe that would be a great idea for global dream. A giga yacht that is larger then anything else.

Azzam is the longest yacht in the world, not thr biggest or largest. M/Y Dilbar is the biggest at almost 16,000 gross tonnage. Azzam is slightly over 13,000 gross tonnage. Gross tonnage is a measure of a vessels volume and is to yachts what square footage is to a residence. Just like the length of a residence isn’t a measure of how big a residence is, the same is true for a yacht.

No one said it was the biggest .It's the longest. It is the biggest by length. What one Earth are you talking about? By length it is bigger. We are talking about length not gross tonnage. Azzam never claimed to be the biggest by tonnage it claimed to be the biggest as for it's length. It's the longest and also one of the fastest Super Yachts ever built it can reach 31 knots that is incredible for a Yacht that size. The Bow of Azzam is very long that design helps it make speed. It would not be able to hit 30 plus knots if the Bow was short.

Azzam is longer than Dilbar, but it is not bigger as Dilbar has significantly more gross tonnage (meaning space within the yacht). Bigger in length is a compkete error of the English language; something csnnot be bigger in length, but it can be longer in length. When one says a certain house is bigger than another house, do you think length is what is being referred to or does bigger mean more livable space? The same holds for measuring which yacht is bigger than another. If longer means bigger as you suggest, then why wouldn’t wider also mean bigger? A yacht that is longer but has less livable space within it (gross tonnage) cannot be bigger. Thst’s All.

The shallow draft is due to it being KaMeWa jet-driven, as opposed to conventional propellers. All-in-all, it's a despicably gross display of wealth and not much more than an expensive, glorified, dick extension. "Mine's bigger" in the yachting world says a lot about the "men" who have them built.

The owner of Azzam is Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi. Therefore, there is no way the masses will ever see the inside of this vessel. Maybe if it is ever put up for sale there may be a video produced

I gave up watching at the fourth time the cost was mentioned. Do you think we have short memories, or that the price is the most important thing, or even that we might be envious. I will never afford it, but good on the sheik for spending all that oil money on a yacht rather than f18s or rapidfire weapons in the west.
