Imagine living on the beach and being able to wake up every morning to the sound of the waves. Well today guys I’m going to put an image to that dream and show you inside of a nearly $159 million dollar beachfront mansion!
The nearly $159 million dollar mansion is located in Hillsboro Beach, Florida in the high end neighborhood of Hillsboro Mile where neighboring homes can reach north of $10 million dollars. The home is set on a roughly 2.5 acres with a 2.5 acre empty lot situated next door to average out to a combined 5 acre lot. The home was auctioned off in November of 2018 with no reserve and finally was sold for $42.5 million dollars to the one of the Teavana co-founders. Just goes to show you that your home is really only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it, regardless of what the listing price is. I would say that a $116 million dollar discount is a pretty decent deal for a home of this magnitude. Regardless owning and operating such a property won’t be a cheap thing to do. The new owner will be looking at roughly $660,000 per year in property taxes and roughly $170,000 per year in homeowners insurance. And we can only assume that between landscapers and property maintenance they will be looking at an additional $250k per year in basic homeownership costs. But I’m sure that if you can afford to purchase a $42.5 million dollar mansion then you can afford to pay roughly a million dollars per year to maintain it.
The home is a 11 bedroom and 22 bathroom with 30,000 square feet of living space breaking down to about $1,417 per square foot. As you make your way up the gated drive you ride up the elevated circular limestone carport. Entering into the Versailles inspired mansion you step into the main foyer which is straddled by two grand staircases with symmetrical powder rooms located below. Straight ahead is a sitting room with pocket sliding glass doors that open up to the nearly 500 feet of ocean frontage. Off to the left side of the home you will find the kitchen which features custom mahogany cabinets with 22-karat gold fixtures. Just off the kitchen is a family room with a built-in aquarium. Off the kitchen is the formal dining room which has two glass chandeliers hanging from above with a beautiful mosaic painted in the ceiling. Also located on the main level is a game room, a home office, and a pub style card room.
Stepping downstairs is where you will find the massive imax home theater with seating for up to 18 people. Next door is the home's 3,000 square foot wine cellar to hold any and all of your prized spirits from around the globe. The bottom floor is also home to the underground temperature controlled 20 car garage where you can house all of your luxurious sports cars away from the harsh salty ocean air. You will also find 4 guest bedrooms on this level as well as the staff quarters. Moving up two flights of stairs to the top floor of the home is where you will find 3 guest suites and the master bedroom. What’s crazy about this home is that half of the top floor of the home is fully dedicated to the master suite.
Inside the master you have custom moldings with 22-karat gold leaf surrounding the room. The bed is set behind a gate which just makes you feel like a king when jumping in bed. There is a master sitting room next door with views of the ocean. There is a large terrace that wraps around the backside of the home giving you views of the crashing waves. There are his and his bathrooms because dual vanities weren't enough. Both bathrooms have the same luxurious gold leafing intertwined into the architecture of the rooms. My favorite part about the bathrooms is the soaking tub that is situated in the corner room that gives you 180 views of the ocean. Off the right wing of the master is the south terrace which has a private plunge pool then a ski bridge over the cabana which leads to an elevated hot tub with views of the ocean.
Lastly staying outside you have a luxurious resort style pool surrounded by architecture inspired by the palace of Versailles in France. This property isn’t so much meant to be a home but to be the ultimate entertainers house. Just imagine the pool parties at this home. And with the empty lot next door for future builds this home can only get better. But that pretty much wraps up our tour of this $159 million dollar beachfront mansion!
