Inside a Barrio in Medellín Outside the Tourist Zone 🇨🇴 

Nueva Jerusalén is a barrio on the western side of the Aburrá Valley in the hills above Medellín. It is not easily accessible and definitely not a barrio visited by many foreigners. Outside of the tourist zone in Medellín, Barrio Santo Domingo and Comuna 13 have become destinations for tourists and provide travelers insight on how many people live Medellín.
Nueva Jerusalén is different. It is the third largest urban settlement in Colombia. Many of the people living there have been displaced from other parts of the country.
Most of people who in the barrio live from the informal economy without any support from the government.
