I am in the process of repairing one of these and found your video from 5 years ago. The pack I am repairing had one dead cell, which I have replaced, and now I am reassembling the pack. It was useful to see how the BMS is mounted since this was given to me already disassembled. Yes a lot of silicon rubber, but not impossible. It would be great if there was a source for getting replacement nickel strips. I had to make my own.
Hi Doctor, I have opened 26V Flyer eBike battery (16Ah / 404Wh pack - NKY335B2) and replaced all old 56x Sanyo cells (1 was broken, completely killing other 7 cells in the same parallel group) with the new 56x Samsung cell. After the assembly is finished, I tried to activate the battery and put on the charger. Battery block woke up, but I have two issues: 1. When I press the charge level button, all 5 LEDs blinks one after the other like in a "rotating pattern". This repeats about 6x times and they turn off. What is the meaning of this? Is there a way to reset it back to normal? 2. When I long (>5sec) press and hold the charge level button, 2 LEDs came on: This indicates battery remaining life time is about 40% left. But, this was left over from the old Sanyo cells. Is there a way to reset this back to 100%? Thanks in advance. Cengiz
I want to fit a 2 pin battery to my Panasonic 3 pin motor. The 3rd pin needs to be a BMS. Is there a possibility to cancel the BMS? Original batteries are very expensive. Much cheaper batteries with much more Ampere capacity are sold.
They are well built but really hard to fix... do you know if a new pack without the sensor and temperature poles (gray and blue I think) connected would work with the charger and the e bike?
Yes it looks like when the bms is disconnected completely it stays in some sort of a loop mode lighting the leds in a sequence then stops. Anybody knows how to do a reset?
Hi BD, Can I buy you a coffee or beer for answering a question? I have this pouch cell NKY281B2 10Ah from my mothers Flyer e-bike which i want to replace the cells with Samsung 3450Ah. But, is there a catch to the BMS not accepting the new cells? Can I disconnect all the wires and build the new pack in the same format 7s2p (actually upgrade to 3p or 4p 7s2p) and the BMS and controller will still work? No need for factory intervention to reactivate the components?

Doctor, may I ask you if I can replace all 42 cells 3.7v-2600mah by 42 new cells 3.7v-3500mah into this ebike battery pack Flyer NKY314B2 ? All articles I did read say it would not be a problem, but just wanna be sure by getting a pro advice. Thanks a lot :)
I suppose you got your answer by this time. May I ask, did you totally disconnect the BMS to the point where it had no power? Did the new cells get accepted by the BMS/controller? No lock-up of the system?
@@camielkotte Yes all new cells were accepted by the BMS and got no lock-up for this battery model (NKY314B2). However, I got a serious lock-up with NKY428B2 model. Unable to charge again even though voltage is correct.
Hi Doctor, I'm trying to dissassemble a NKY314B2 but I get serious difficulties. Do you have a advice to get it disassembled the battery housing (42 batteries) and change some cells ?
Hey, I'm having also serious difficulties to dissasemble the whole pack. It's stuck despite I did unscrewed the four screws. Have you finally been able to dissassemble et reassemble the pack yourself ?
Yes you could do that. But in these complex BMS situations and since the cells where dead i could not confirm the BMS was working but if i se no reason not to try if you have this pack and the time to experiment, especially if you actually have a bike to try it on! I have recently found battery partner that can sell me new batteries that work with the Panasonic system that is on the Flyers bikes so i dont have to deal with this mess any more!
