I didn't know until know how laborious the work actually is. And with the price tag of the product I was blown away so expensive in other countries and so cheap in Pakistan which makes me sad that how less would such an amazing set of hardworking craftsmen earn. Thank you for this video.
@@unofficiallyofficial bro lot of people have positive view of Pakistani people here in India . The people who abuse in comment section are mainly fake accounts operated by using indian names. The Irish drum is called a bodhrán and is pronounced bow-rawn (bow as in take a bow). They're gorgeous and have been part of Irish culture for centuries!

What an absolutely fascinating video! I would have never thought that traditional Irish folk drums (incidentally, bodhrán is pronounced something like "bough-rone") and other European/Arabic/historic instruments are being manufactured by hand in Pakistan of all places! I would love to own one of their lute guitars. Absolutely brilliant entrepreneurship from whoever decided to start this enterprise. Thank you Karl for this tour!
PAKISTAN is one of the greatest producers of musical instrumentals supplying across the western world. Craftsmen are second-to-none! Well done documenting such great talent.
Man! It’s crazy how they can develop pieces of art with limited tools and technologies. The resilience and craftsmanship of these people who are most often demonized here in the west is breathtaking. It reminds me of one of Maya Angelou’s poem: ‘You may write me down in history with your bitter twisted lies, you may trod me in the very dirt. But still, like dust, I rise.’
Bro,You are Right...No one Supports Poor Craftmans...Sialkot Pakistan make World 70% footballs even for FIFA😍...But,All is done By Hand and Eyes of The Poors 😔..Nobody Supports💔...Workers Don’t pay that they deserves..
@@krunal7433 Right. Also persecution of minorities, honour killings. Just the other day in Pakistan hundreds of guys attacked to kill a guy for blasphemy. This was in capital Islamabad, not tribal regions.
@@tubester4567 The list is endless. A lot of people are being brainwashed lately to think that all these facts are lies. There has been a Imran Khan government funded campaign where youtubers are paid to make videos about pakistan.

That was absolutly amazing. The quality look's so good. Amazing what they can do wow .What a great video i really enjoyed it keep up the awsome video's karl
One thing that concerns me... my family owned a sawmill amd woodworking shop. So this is from experience. So.. the amount of sawdust they have and especially with them using large ground level fans... there is a real risk of explosion. Yes... EXPLOSION. Sawdust can become explosive when the air becomes filled with it and an ignition source(such as the fan motors) is present. Not only is there a risk of explosion but they have sawdust all over the place too. A normal fire would ravage that place in a hurry. Dry piles of sawdust that have been allowed to lay and dry out become super flammable... I found out the hard way when I was only 14. I hope they invest into dust collection systems and start better housekeeping practices. I’ll probably never meet the people that work there since I live in rural America... but I still care for them and want them to go home to their loved ones every day. Cheers Karl and thank you for another wonderful video. 🙏
These people are dying from hunger. Their craftsmanship is being sold for thousands of dollars to so many countries of the world and yet those same countries call them terrorists. They don't get even 20% of the product they're making. Exploding from sawdust is the least of their worries.
@@fahimshehzad2113 safety should be a priority for everyone. Every person should be able to have a reasonable expectation of a safe workplace. As far as “terrorists” go... not sure who is looking at these people as terrorists but that’s not cool. Where I live in the US... people mostly view Pakistani people as normal and kind people that have just been exploited. I think times have changed tho. Yeah... not too long ago you would likely find a fair few people that would just call the. “Sand n word terrorists” but that’s no longer a viewpoint I’ve been able to find lately. I do talk to a LOT of people now about foreign topics. I do have family that live in southern US states and they are still absolutely backwards in their views of the Middle East and Asian countries. I’ll admit it’s sad and yes I do educated them as much as possible. Sadly... some are just too far gone. I’m vividly aware of the way some people view those parts of the world but it’s up to use to educate others and to let them know the truth. The majority of Pakistani, and other Middle Eastern and Asian countries, are beautiful people that deserve much better lives and don’t deserve the stigmas associated. All races/ethnicities have dark points and have had bad pasts... there is no superior “race”/ethnicity and we all need to work together for a common good vs fighting. Hopefully some day we can get there but unfortunately we have governments, and power players, that do not want to see peace. Peace hurts their wallets. We need to work together and creat positivity and stop the hatred.
Unfortunately the Safety standards are non existent for the factory workers in Pakistan. No ear plugs no proper industrial grade masks gloves etc. Just wondering what impact the sawdust and noise will have on workers health.
A horrible one. These men face having permanent ringing in their ears, deafness, loss of vision through major trauma to the eye or through constant exposure to dust will develop conjunctivitis and cataracts. Their lungs will develop occupational asthma and they carry about 40% greater risk of lung cancer and even higher risk of carcinomas in the nose and mouth. Their skin will be constantly dry and itchy, and higher likelihood to develop allergy reactions. Not to mention the avulsion, amputation and degloving injuries from the machinery that will cause permanent disability and life threatening bleeding. It is wrong then we know how to avoid these outcomes that the measures to prevent them aren't provided.
Great craftsmanship guys but just as one commentator commented about poor housekeeping practices (this place should be spick and span and well looked after) there was a huge dump of garbage right in front (or back side) of their business which was a sore sight. Companies like these who earn good have a corporate social responsibility (Sialkot Businessmen are known for it - they built their own airport, roads and infrastructure and started their own Airline) for their workplace, local community and neighborhood. As Pakistanis too, they have a responsibility to let their foreign clients respect their work ethics and employment and environment friendly working conditions - I hope the owner would read these comments and take them in good faith. Kudos for everything else!
Karl, More on motorcycle repair shops please. Pakistani craftsmen are some of the best in the world! A pleasure to watch mechanics at work. Your videos are awesome.
This factory should provide protective glasses or face shields and noise-canceling headphone to their workers. That must be hard to daily work with extreme machine noise. They are exporting all over the world but not taking care of their workers.
Hearing loss in these hard workers must be devastating. Much less eye and hand injuries. And no insurance I'm sure. This is why stuff made in countries with no labor laws or safety regulations is so cheap.
Pakistan amazing country love Pakistan from China!! Keep it up karl keep the good video going, Pakistan and China is forever brothers and friendship! and also i am happy that Pakistan rejected offer from u.s.a by building military base in Pakistan good job Pakistan brothers hahaha 🤣😂😂😂👍👍👍👍👍👍 and BTW good workshop factory making use of the woods perfectly 👍👍👍👍
As a Chinese I am also happy that we gave billions of dollars as loans to Pakistan that they can't even pay back , we got a slave country near our feet 😜

*This was an excellent vlog Karl!* What distinguishes it was its detailed showing of how instruments are made step by step. As a Pakistani, I just have one request from you Karl that you ask the factory owners to provide the craftsmen protective eye glasses, ear plugs, face shields, workman suits, work boots, more cleanliness & safety standards. If the owners implement this, their productivity might be boosted up to 30% by some surveys. This would be a great contribution if you can convince them of that.
Karl, this video is top notch brotha!! Anyway you can get some videos of Pakistani auto mechanics? I seen a video a few months ago of them doing some repairs that was unreal!
It is astonishing how beautiful instruments they make in such a simply equipped workshop! I can well imagine people paying 5-6k$ for them! Beauty forever!
Karl I enjoyed this video seeing all the manual labour going into making the instruments but holy god there’s such a lack of safety there...at least they could give them safety glasses and foam ear plugs..what would they charge for the final product and do they same then online
Who else can't resist watching Karl's vlogs 💙. The editing, the detailed description of Everything and everywhere he goes. It makes it so interesting. Much love Karl!
Great video Karl! how you covered the whole processes of these beautiful instruments being made with such dedication and craftsmanship, i really enjoyed the whole vlog thank you so much for this virtual tour.. PAKISTAN ZINDABAD
Many years ago I used to have a mandolin that was made in Pakistan, I wonder if it was made at this factory! Bahut acchaa video Karl bhai! (Edited to add, after seeing the Heartland brand on the bouzouki I’m pretty sure my old mandolin was made there!)
@@strategygames4056 I currently live in Utah in the US. We recently moved here from New Delhi back in December of last year. I’m originally from here but my wife is from India, and we spent a couple years living there ( I really miss India).
Yes, exactly. Given the circumstances they do some lovely work there. But that entire factory is a health & safety nightmare. Unfortunately I'm afraid this is at least partly because of ignorance/illiteracy. Because a lot of basic safety doesn't even need to cost any money. For example some simple push blocks or push sticks for guiding the wood on a sawing machine can easily be made by the workers themselves just from some scrap wood pieces. And that would already reduce much risk of people losing their fingers.
Credit goes to Pakistani people who welcome karl with open hearts and minds .Pakistanis r most loving and caring people around the world..pakistanis r very hardworking and talented..pakistan zindabad.
Just look at the hard work that goes into this! I do not have a problem with other countries making things for other countries. It helps everyone involved!! Beautiful work!
I wanna show this very educating video to some Western Rock musicians who break their guitar and other instruments on stage, purely for entertainment reason. Respect the instruments, just look how hard these craftsmen are working !!
Omg was so bored no new content, but then got ur notification yay it's 7.41 am here in the UK n I'm 8 weeks away from giving birth Karl's vids got me through most of it
That was truly amazing Karl, thank you. I have a whole new respect for these mega talented craftsmen. Some of those instruments were true works of art.🎻🎻🙋♀️🇨🇦
I wish I could have heard one of those instruments played but that was such an interesting video! I love how resourceful those people are. You can tell they're making use of every little bit. Now it's time to look up people playing baroque guitars 😂
It’s amazing what this factory produces but if this factory was in NZ it would be shut down. I can’t believe the workers aren’t even wearing steal cap boots, safety glasses, ear muffs, thick gloves etc. It saddens me that they probably make a lot of profit but don’t care about the workers safety :( Little things like personal protective equipment can prevent so many avoidable injuries.
You are right but when all these precautionary measure will be taken then the product cost will go too high that they cannot compete in the world market.
It makes a nice change to see the workmen protecting their lungs from all the dust. Most of the machinery looks victorian but that doesn't matter it is the skill of the men working them that counts. I could spend all day there looking and watching these craftsmen at work
I have been to Ireland and bought one of those drums(Beautiful) and I have been to Sialkot, but not to see where my drum was fashioned. On my next trip to beautiful Pakistan, I will find this factory and visit it myself. I love Pakistan and have visited there twice. I’ll be back.

Aamiin. This is why I feel excited watching Karl Vlog as he shows all aspect about Pakistan from adventure, technology, economic, culture, transportation etc.
I wish someday i will go and visit these places. Music is so pure and different from the Western side here. The national anthems of India, Bangladesh and Pakistan are soo good. I am an Indian myself.
@@zuboy4272 but I am sure they must feel happy and satisfied looking at their beautiful creations....the instruments are truly delightful... 👏for the hard workers.
considering they are selling each one for 1500-2000 USD like he said, makes me disappointed to see a lack of basic protective gear for the workers like gloves and eye protection even.
Great video. It's very hard to skip sections of Karl's videos 😂😂 Pakistani craftsmen work very hard and they produce quality work. Love and respect from Punjab, India.
Fantastic as ever Karl. I know that all your fans would love you and Manishajee to come to Pakistan as a couple one day soon. On a side note, this is one of the sites where we produce “Spy Pigeons” to give the Godi Media something newsworthy to harp (sic) on about as they obviously can’t find local news items like poverty, homelessness, joblessness etc to talk about.
