These videos are just butter. From the cinematography to the editing to the “why” behind the design. I feel like I’m on blissful holiday when I watch these films.
I just happened upon this video and was mesmerized. Caleb Mulvena has a mellow, relaxed voice and offers great insight into the project in an articulate narrative. Outstanding production, filming, writing and editing. Quite the treat as architectural videos go.
That smell is no joke it’s so pretty and nostalgic for me. I had a cedar clubhouse when i was young and it always smelled so good. It lasted my whole childhood too
This house was one of the most viral house on IG for years a lot of people didn't believe it was real because of the way the way it was design the landscaping and everything... Love it💚💛
Fantastic house. I know this particular area very well and it is nice to see a house that’s not another McMansion. Instead it’s modern, thoughtful and blends in so well
I like the idea of the house growing out of its surroundings and not being too big and imposing. The green roof looks great. I dislike too much timber inside the house but somehow they made it work - it's all wood and it's still not too busy and very relaxed and I am sure it smells incredible. The only thing I dislike is the kitchen - it sticks out like a sore thumb in a modern house like that.
I thought that too, but then noticed what looks like a pocket door. So it seems like they can close off that space when not in use. Having a wood floor in a kitchen is impractical, but I might have chosen a floor tile wasn’t such a contrast with the lovely wood floors of the adjoining rooms.
@@hrh597788 That may have been a marriage compromise - I'm conceding a house full of wood - literally every surface - so I want the tile I actually want....
@@hrh597788 pocket doors are nice but the kitchen still gives off a totally different vibe. It's not just the floors but cabinets and choice of tiles. Japanese kitchens are pretty awesome - i think one vaguely in that style would've worked great there.
Beautiful house but I wish the editing was not so jumpy. The pace of the cuts are much faster than a typical LP video which have a meditative pace that I really enjoy. It was hard to take in the home and it's details in this video. That being said, I love the channel and excited for all the new North American content.
please explain the layout further! The 4 bedrooms surrounding a main play area???? there is only 1 window to the view...how are those designed???? where is the "not pretty" stuff? the machine room for the pool? the heaters? laundry? trash? where to they store the christmas tree?
Am I the only one who thinks the kitchen feels out of place? The house is this beautiful mix of contemporary architecture with mid century and Japanese architecture but the kitchen looks so busy with all those pattern tiles and the design of the cabinets, the kitchen feels like a classic farmhouse kitchen
Ha, I felt similarly and was relieved someone else caught this! I’m a filmmaker and video editor and chuckled while watching; I think this editor hasn’t learned yet that the beat of the song isn’t the only thing that should determine your cuts. 😅 I mean they were spot ON that beat, so kudos for an impeccable perception of rhythm? Which is great for music videos and action scenes, but doesn’t serve this genre of video as well. So many missed opportunities to allow this beautiful imagery to settle and allow the viewer to relax into the meditative experience these videos so often offer, while appreciating the property being shown. I had to look away a few time tbh because it was stressing me out 😂 I’m rooting for this editor, and hoping they’ll get the hang of trusting not just the beat but the shot itself to compel a cut.
Everything is nearly perfect except this kitchen. It is like photoshoped in this house and take houses entirely aura. Fair enough, cedar smell is coming from the screen!
I love this channel, but the editing can be so inconsistent. It would've been really nice to get some longer shots to appreciate the spaces more. I had to pause and rewind many times. I still have no clue what the master bedroom looks like. Please consider the viewing experience.
Why don't you add the location to the title? It's very annoying when a location needs to be googled every time. You might be surprised with the fact, that most of the people on this planet do not live in Hampton Bay and have no idea about its location.
@@ColemanOuimet as in "in winter once every week or so you go bathe in a full-time warmed pool of hundreds of thousands of drinkable water instead of putting on a wetsuit and going into the ocean" ? Oh yeah that makes so much more sense now ;)
