Tesla cars have a reputation for bursting into flames. Musk only smearing on his competition to save face for has crappy cars but in retrospect BYD has no real competitors

Binay Dhakal Are you stupid? BYD doesn't compete with Tesla. Tesla has its own areas like flashy consumers. But BYD is all around the EV vehicles for its consumers. You must be salty, Chinese are building the future.

This is just the reflection of the present. During the 60s when Japanese cars first landed in North America, the term Jap crap was used, then by the 80s they became a threat, and now Toyota and Honda are difficult to surpass in quality. During the 80s. the S.Korean arrived in North America, anyone remembered the Pony, the same story, Koreans were the butt of jokes for the next couple of decades. By 2000, they changed how they marketed and controlled quality. Right now, they are getting the critic's attention. BYD is only introduced in EU, but they're already selling in other parts of the developing where their car would sell. My friend said his trip to Peru, he noticed BYD everywhere. My point is it takes roughly 20-30 years. Since BYD is getting government subsidies from the CCP, the R&D is sped up. The only thing holding them back now is the Covid-19. Resentment for Chinese brand very much would hold them from expanding in developed nations in Canada, the US, and the EU, but they are just going to spend time to improve. I'm sure Elon is going to be saying the same things about BYD in another or two decades after.
