@@williambremner9022 I mean probably but you can also see that he himself is just naturally very delicate with it in a way that he wants to keep it as it is.
im not kidding when I say that this is one of my favorite videos on youtube. His passion, and genuine interest comes through in every second of it. Fantastic.
I second that... He's better than everyone else at the Moment... And watching the latest Grand Tour season 3 episode 4, better than all the 3 combined...
@@dulisha yes, and I couldn't agree more. I like those 3 too. But it feels like Harris would be limited due to Flintoff and the other one. And the reason why the New Top Gear will always be lacking of the acclaim of the Old.
However long it would take to do cinematic shots and spec/fact listings for every inch of every car. A year long, hour or 2 per week series could do it. A casual 52 - 104 hours of footage. :) Then the next year's series can be all the outtakes/'vlogs' for everything behind the cinematic stuff we would see in the first series. :) Well, we can dream.
This is therapy honestly. Loved every second. Absolutely share the love and enthusiasm for cars of this era. This is probably one of my favorite TOP gear video ever.
I was lucky I actually met him a year and something ago in Porsche Zuffenhausen. He was just returning a 911R back at the factory. It was insane, meeting him and also seeing that special Porsche.
The amount of knowledge Chris has on all these cars is amazing...Chris is a walking car encyclopedia...and how much respect he gives to each car, truly a car nut...
Ikr now everyone is all about those ridiculous V12 powered G 65s lol. Don't get me wrong, I like G Wagens but.... tf is V12 in this for lmao. My fav is the 500E amazing sleeper like those SECs.
Sometimes, after a particularly rough day at work or when I’m struggling, I come back to this vid and wallow in the infectious joy of Harris. He’s literally the kid in the candy store and it’s great to watch, although I am very jealous
Those are nice cars and all, but what really gets to me is the absolute passion Chris has for the cars. Absolutely geeking out, running names and stats like nobody's business, throwing away his cool card to share the wealth of knowledge and appreciation he has for his interest. I wish the world were full of people like Chris who are just as riveted about their careers and hobbies as he is. Well done!
Throwing out all this knowledge is the biggest cool card to any nerd of anything. Not only was it an amazing collection they found just the right man so show it off
Chris makes Top Gear, period. No other car journalist geeks out over these kind of cars than Chris Harris. He is unique in the way he presents and taking the audience with him and emerge them in a wonderfull experience. Maybe I’m exaggerating, I don’t know.
I'm not sure about the rest of cast. A sportsman has nothing to do with cars was casted as one of hosts 🤪 I'm of course talking about Ashes-winning England cricketer Flintoff. He's not even a race car driver.
@@caribbeangtr8077 The trio arent journalists per se at least anymore, they function more as automotive themed comedians. Chris Harris, he is well truly the king of automotive journalism. He could make a Prius review interesting without any gimmicks, or any additives.
@@jameslee9314 To each his own, the trio are absolutely entertaining and their technical content was good too. Now, I have a high level of respect for Chris and the knowledge he imparts, but just less entertaining, but by no means boring. I'm an automotive tuner, so I appreciate everything that Chris says. Cheers.
@random panda on the internet so true, if they let Chris do like his own show, kind of like Clarkson's motorworld but Harris on his own it would be great
Yes, and I really want one of those because growing up my family car was a 240TD estate. Same body but hardly the same condition. To have that AMG wagon edition would be a dream.
This video perfectly illustrates why Chris Harris is so popular among car lovers and petrolheads. He's one himself. He gets excited by the same things we do. Its genuine and not for the camera.
No supercar garage on earth can match this ! The most amazing cars in one place. My dreams in one place. The alpinas, e60, 850, S classes, E classes, the Rolls Royces, LOOK AT THEM, JUST LOOK AT ALL OF THEM !!!
A true enthusiast of fine cars...gotta love how Chris does not touch the car with his bare hands, but rather has his hand covered inside the sleeve. Need to teach that to Jay Leno..hahaha
@whybother now Jay does it to the cars of his guests as well. Every car wash, valet company, parking company, and service department should be teaching that to each employee who touches the client's car. It's annoying to take a spotless car to valet or the service department, but then getting it back with their prints all over the damn car.
I like that no Ferrari or Lambo is mentioned because I have seen a lot of their models. Gets boring after a while obviously when it's just mainly all show and no go unlike these car in the vid.
Chris Harris is the only reason I still watch Top Gear. He is the new generation of Top Gear. When Clarkson, Hammond and May joined together, Top Gear changed with them. Now it's time for Top Gear to change again with Harris. New format for a new presenter.
This guy always puts a smile on my face . He exudes a childlike love for what he does and what he gets to drive. Best car guy in the media bar none. Keep on doing it !!!!
The reason you buy and keep your favourite classic. We have a C registered Escort Cabriolet SE that came standard with the Turbo Kit flared arches. I took the original steel wheels and wheel trims off to put some deep dish 17” RS wheels on it. It’s white with a white hood and it honestly looks like new. Also have a brand new engine that i got from ford a long long time ago. Also have a 2006 Audi A4 3.2 Quattro that is also like new in light blue. Sits on the drive under cover. Both get driven from time to time. It’s sad to think they might not be allowed on the road one day? ☹️
Chris may be my one of my favorite car personalities. He just shoots from the hip and it comes out Right every time. Even when it is not right.... it is.
So it’s funny that Chris Harris is my favorite car journalist of all time and it really put a stamp on it when you pick that 750 V 12 Alpina BMW because back in the 90s that was my dream car over anything else at the time especially with a set of those 20 inch Alpina wheels. This video just made my day thank you Chris.
German Big totally agree! I recognized it instantly when he sat behind the steering wheel. The interior :D Ive got one E38 myself here in Sweden. 4litres V8 -95 I love it.
RU-vid recommendation, I loved it. The child-like enthusiasm was shared. I'm not so hell bent on the current pomp & circumstance auto design. Some is exceptional, but these were works of art.
As a 50th Anniversary owner, I'm really happy to see his enthusiasm for the Z. That's the first time one has ever been shown on video by an automotive publication. One of the most underrated cars of the 80's in my (most certainly biased) opinion. I hope Chris gets the chance to experience one in the future, and thanks for making my day!
Something about "older" car design is SO much better than modern stuff. It's like how Blade Runner is still more stylish than most movies made nowadays.
I just noticed that i had the biggest smile ever on my face during the whole video! You could actually feel how happy Chris was there. I envy him so hard right now, but he definitly belonged in that garage!
I lost track of time and my life watching this...I was transported into a dream car paradox... like another dimension that wasn’t real. I hope the owner opens up the garage for tours... 😍
I think you’re right. They are totally usable and fast enough today, kinda safe and still loads of brand / character. Buy a new BMW today, one thing you won’t get is Bavarian character and taking a stand for good design. As they once did.
Depends on what brand of the 80s, as you can see in the video a lot of the 80s cars got way to advance electronics that never lasted. Id agree about the 90s though
Mesmerized by the condition of the cars!!! Absolutely the reaction and excitement expected from a real car enthusiast.... Chris going from car to car, like a kid in a candy store.
He says, ’He had no idea what the folks at the Renault were smoking when they were designing the R5, but he wants some of whatever that was). LOL! Count me in too.
Please More content like this!!!!! The old Chris Harris is back! Its so hard to choose a favorite. That 5.7 e31 alpina and the r129 amg wow, wow, wow. The w123 amg I never knew existed. Some seriously cool mercs in this collection as well.
Chris.....please do another one of these mate, but do a full length version. We loved it. Could have watched you digging around in these beauties all day.
When he said that he's gonna pick a car he liked the most and then showed the BMW I had the biggest and best smile I had in a while. Because the BMW 7 series e38 is my absolute favorite car
This is the greatest car collection, review and clip ever. Got to admire the enthusiasm of Chris and at the same time envy him for being so close to so many amazing classic cars that will truly forever remain GOATs. This needs its own show many of us young people want to discover forgotten classics and understand the evolution of cars before it all goes electric and Chris does it so well!
As a huge BMW fan and owner of a E36 cabriolet, E91 and a 850. This is bonkers. I would love to visit this place, I would probably pass out. And look at those E38s!!! We've had 4 different E38s in our family, I basically grew up with that car. One of my absolute favorite cars ever! Jesus.
prophetic statement: "this is what we will miss when everything goes electric and boring" I already miss real dials on the dashboards of new cars. Everybody installs displays instead.
