I’m Black African from TZ, I lived in States for decades, Tanzanian people’s Unity’s people’s don’t care about color of skin or your background. Yes money is power, but Tanzania not segregations Society, you will see riches with nice houses and poor people with tiny homes living on same area, TZ too friendly people.

Honestly speaking we as Tanzanians are very harmble and hard working. From perspective cos I was born and raised in Daressalam during colonialism German and British use Indians as their hand and get privilege with. Most indians doing good for them self and hold Tanzania economy. But I would to remind some of them to be more Human and not taking advantage of poor Tanzanians, they don't pay well in their job and want you to work extra hard which is not fair, some of them are racist. But we are proud of Indians counterpart. Tanzania moja

There's something that is usually conviniently left out when it comes to these conversation. That is the racial status afforded to the asian communities by the colonial adminstrations during colonial times and business partnerships that favored asians over black business people by international companies even after independence

A lot of people don't know this but a lot of Zanzibaris moved to the west. A lot of our parents moved from Zanzibar to either the western countries or Middle Eastern countries, specifically UK, US, Canada, Oman & UAE. Just like the Indian Tanzanians we also have the Arab community & Persian (Shirazi) community in Zanzibar, however in zanzibar, majority of the Arabs and Persians mixed with the native africans. Just like me and many other Zanzibaris here in the UK, people often can't guess where we're from. I’ve been mistaken for Caribbean, Sudanese, Egyptian, and asian, but rarely Tanzanian or Zanzibari. we come in all shades, shapes, different hair textures. Zanzibar is the only place I can truly feel at home. Good to know now many more people in the west know about Zanzibar/Tanzania. A lot of us from the newer generation in the West are now returning home to invest and build.

It's sad that a Muslim feels reluctant to go into a mosque just because it's another sect who congregate there as a Muslim you should be able to enter and pray in all the mosque's but I think we forget above all the mosque only belongs to Allah and not to us humans

The boys really gave you good information. To add the Indians,Arabs,Persians and Turkish came to east africa hundreds of years before the Europeans and even before some tribes of black african like the Masai. Also the Swahili food is 80% Indian influenced,Swahili language borrowed a lot from indian languages too. I would also like to see you do east african arabs history

theres nothing borrowed from indians, they took a word like chai and laki. which they been stolen from the swahili due to trans asian trade in the Kilwa Empire in 17/18 century.

So, the guy says the natives are jealous? Nah!! Considering that during the colonialism the blacks/natives were considered 3rd class citizens. There are buildings from 1950 owned by Indians/Arabs, and Africans were never allowed to construct in the city center up till independence. The presumed "animosity" is from the racism that some of Indians (not all) express to the natives. And the natives retaliate with the prejudice. But hell no, NOT jealousy! (Have my own experience) Now let it be known I hold no anger/animosity with our Indian/Arab community. Them being here makes our Tanzanian culture/language as beautiful and unique as it is. But what this hosts tells you, is not at all true. Good to find a mixture of all ethnicities to learn the history if possible.
