Because of the war in Ukraine and the financial sanctions imposed to Russia and the Oligarchs by the E.U, Alisher Usmanov cannot recover his yacht DILBAR actually in Germany for maintenance.
I met one of its staff on the tour sagrada Familia in Barcelona. She wasnt allowed to talk about the boat or any thing in the boat as per the contract terms. But we say the boat in the harbour was massive and very amazing .. massive !!!!!!!!

Initial cost € 600 million, worth around half that today. At € 150 million, it would be a great purchase. You think they would sell it off cheap ?
@@woofolliesmydog8628 The real expense is the crewing and running, another 40-60 million. You will want to insure the yacht too, but hard to give a quote without more info. And recall, it costs a little over 1 million every time you refuel. You need a mileage estimate, here. You want a fund to generate income, no use paying out of your pocket. And some income also has to be put back into the fund, to allow for inflation. Assuming the fund is in a stable currency, about a 5% safe return would be right. To be safe, park the money in: High-yield savings accounts Certificates of deposit Money market accounts Treasury bonds Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities Municipal bonds Corporate bonds Dividend stocks in blue chips are also good, but more subject to risk. Also, you will want a sinking fund, for emergencies. So, the fund should generate about 100 million a year. Simple math says you can do that with a fund of about 2 billion. Ship costs about 600 million. Allowing for inflation, cost overruns and what not, I think you could easily buy and run the Dilbar if you have a spare 3 billion. Recall, you will still have most of the money, it will just be working. And if you take care of the ship, capital depreciation will be at a minimum. The interesting thing is, the Germans have seized/ frozen the yacht as part of sanctions on Russia, and it is currently sitting in Hamburg. So someone may well be making these calculations right now. Maybe Jeff Bezos would like to trade up?
I read somewhere German authority announced 542 million Dollar(equal) cost yacht..had been detained at blom and Voss.. so 542 million building plus refit...I believe in 2016 it's sit betwen 430-475 million Dollar
This is not the interior of Dilbar. I think these RU-vidrs need to do their job and research a little better. Most of these private yachts interiors are not revealed and the staff of these boats sign extensive NDA contracts so nothing is revealed

The owner does. The yacht itself is fine. Just right for an American tech billionaire, who earned his money serving peoples needs. Maybe one will buy it. Not many else who can, outside their Euro counterparts, and oil sheikhs.
Some are pretty good. Great use of wood, tasteful furniture. The Americans do it best, and the U.K. billionaires. The Arab ones are often monuments to the owners lack of taste.
Now that its been detained as a consequence of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, will it be formally repossessed? If so, I wonder who's going to buy it and for how much now? Will the reputation of the current owner lower or raise its value?
