Im a Ukrainian, and I can tell you that knowing English is seen by us as a thing that opens up a lot of possibilities later in life, English is taught basically in every school, starting from elementary or middle school up till graduation, so even if you don't really know why you need it, you'll still know how to speak it.

Almost every young person in Europe speaks English to a certain degree. (Except the French & Spanish)

@@irissupercoolsy Heeey i´m Spanish and i know we are not the best on english, but the things changed a lot in the last years, a lot of my friends speak it on a decent level. The problem of a lot of people is that is just basically ashamed of speaking it for some reason, but they actually have a good understanding.
