Mathew Perry is such a talented actor man it's sad what happened to him but he has made peace with his life and is happy I wish him nothing but the best
@@JohnDoe-rv3qn Matthew Perry was taking drugs for a back injury and on alcohol the while on Friends and acting on all the movies wh when he lost his looks Hollywood didn't want to have anything do with him anymore have been on Substance abuse only tanked his carrier
I'll never forget the first time I watched friends as a 15yr old in 1995. All these years later it's something I can watch over and over and never get bored.
Greatest American Comedy Sitcom ever made. I`m 51, the 1990`s were the greatest times of my life, it was a different world to what it is today and i miss those times alot, watching friends takes me back to those great times, thank you, R.I.P Mathew Perry aka -(Chandler Bing).
I'm a tad younger, same feeling...I think it's the era that we all miss - it was kind, genuine, and free from social media which meant we had to make an effort to create real human connections...it's so sad that we lost it, and you're right, Friends reminds us of how it feels when it's real. I'm so glad we, at least, have this show
"if I hadn't been working with Matt Perry, the show would've been nothing." Matthew Perry made the show what it was, RIP sweet Matty, I know you're already making people laugh up there.
I LOVE Matthew, but I truly believe it's every single one of them, it's also the writers and producers, it's the atmosphere on the show. It's all of it
RIP Matthew Perry. Your body must have been tired from all of those years of addiction. I believe that your body was tired and your heart gave out and you went to the other side. Can't wait to see you again one day. I do believe you are at peace now and you are healed.
I'd love to live in the 90s, in New York, as a 28 year old, coming home from work, raining outside, being at home alone, making myself some nudels and sitting at my 4x3 TV and watching frinds on nbc... man that would be cool!!
Fr just seems more fulfilling than today idk why. Nowadays everything is so accessible including yourself. You have a phone 24/7 so you always fill your time with being on it and people can call you at all times. I imagine it was much more cozy sitting down on your couch with your meal and watching cable television when your favourite tv show was on. Much more meaningful
I was a kid/teenager when friends were on TV. I loved watching this series with my family. So many memories. I watched entire series again in my 30's and oh boy, I cried hard at the end. I'm watching entire series 2-3 times a year now 😊
Matthew wanted to be known for helping people who went through addictions and his legacy will live on! Adored him in friends and can’t believe he’s gone! RIP Matthew 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
I was born in 2001, so I did not watch the show when it originally aired. Tried watching a couple episodes about five years ago and I’ve been hooked ever since. It’s amazing! You can have it in the background, you can watch it directly and you can jump into any episode without any confusion. Easily among the top three sitcoms of all time in my opinion. And to all a good night!
In ‘94 when it started I was in y early 40s. These six were a lot more ‘active’ than I had ever thought about. I didn’t watch reruns until the pandemic. I got more hooked on these people than I had been. A few days ago we had the heartbreaking loss of Matthew Perry. I’ll treasure these shows more now. He was a genius, and went through so much while on the show. He was a wonderful, caring man.
Before all the plastic surgery! My LORD a bunch of good looking people. Matthew Perry is amazing, I don't care about the addiction (recovering addict myself) the bloke is funny, simple as. And an amazing actor, see Studio 60!!!
Wow, man! This is gold! Is like being teleported in time to I time and place I wasnt even in. The biggest show in television was just starting, there would be so much ahead... all the actors, writers and producers were so hopeful and they were right to be. Kinda makes nostalgic for stuff I didnt even live myself. Also, RIP Matthew Perry. Kinda hard to accept he was the first one to go, even with his history of struggles. He was so you h and optimistic here. Just a super talented actor with perfect comedic timing and unique delivery. He was the only one who seemed completely comfortable in his character from the start, while the others I think took a while to settle in, ya know. But he was Chandler from episode 1. No onr could ever guess all the battles he was fighting behind the cameras. And still, he managed to give us all he could.
I lived it. I was about 27 at this time and I would VCR record each episode on tape each Thursday night. Obviously before digital anything. I was a great time to be in your 20's. I get very sad watching these episodes but at the same time, I do feel like they are my TV friends and it is comforting just having them on in the background. Matthew will live on in these shows for ever! xo
@@sherivanduren7589wow, thank you so much for sharinf what it felt like back then. I bet it was great and way more simple than today... They really were an important part of so many people's lives
Till this day, “Friends” is still my absolute favorite show! I watch or listen to it every night before bed either on MAX, TV land, or Amazon bc I bought all the seasons many years ago . Plus I have the dvd box set somewhere. Anyways, It always gets my mind off the crap I’m going through in life and gives me many laughs. Even though I’ve seen every episode hundreds of times. If I played a trivia game, I’m sure I’d beat everyone lol Now that Mathew Perry passed away less than a week ago, I’m very sad. Such an unexpected death especially because he’s been clean and sober for so long and has helped so many addicts throughout his journey. My condolences to his friends and family. Big hugs 💕 😘 RIP Mathew
A Matthew Perry Foundation would be an amazing thing that he would have wanted. Hr was in the early stages of starting one. He was really talented too, amazing timing, a great actor. We shouldn't forget that. RIP Matthew Perry.
37:20 Fiction and reality being one thing. Pretty cool. It was noticeable too. Including during the Friends Reunion, with Jennifer & David both confirming their huge crush on each other.
Those other sitcoms were absolutely dire. Friends is sometimes unfairly dubbed 'the sitcom killer' but it wasn't, I think if anything it raised the bar and forced networks to make stronger alternatives
@@ritasnow8319I think the post referred to those "similar" sitcoms like Partners (13:45) which came up with Friends' success. Most of them that I've seen were rather dire and short-lived. Over time, there have been other amazing sitcoms, no doubt about that!
Permit me to cry 😭. This is life. Make the best use of every second, minute, day, week, month, and year you get in this life. I’m so happy for these six people and what they did for the world. I’m truly grateful 🎉😢😅😊
I like the Friends vibe. There was no weak link. They all vibe well together. I’m glad they didn’t fold to the “diversity” argument. It would have probably changed the winning vibe. Friends, Frasiers, Big Bang Theory, 2.5 Men and Seinfeld are my comfort shows. Will always watch on replay by default if I can’t find anything on TV or don’t want to bother searching. 💯🤙
This program spent way too much time promoting shows that only lasted a season or two, instead of just doing more behind the scenes stuff with the Friends cast, which is what we want to see.
They also fave shows more time back then. I think MASH took an entire year before people caught on. Now, they barely give shows a chance to build an audience..
I didn't catch the show when it first started, someone told me about it, I thought is was just fluff...then I watched one episode and was hooked. I at least watch the series once a year since I bought it for my wife (for me?) a few years ago. Just got done watching the series with my wife a few weeks ago.
I always loved watching this show friends it’s so sad that Matthew Perry is no longer here with us he was such an amazing person and actor it’s so sad and depressing enough that he had his own issues but at least he is in a good place now
“I love the women that come up. I get caught up in it. I think eventually it’s gonna be a problem for me, but right now I’m just caught up in it.” Oh boy…
The guy opposite Jon Cryer in the show Partners (??), wound up playing Joshua in a few episodes of FRIENDS, as Rachel’s Love Interest when Ross was with Emily.
have very vague memories of my mom watching this show when i was little on a big black box as a tv , was born in 94 so must have been around 98-99, then watched it properly when i was 13/14 and watched it so times since, started again a week ago again and already on season 6😂
A good 30% of this show wasn’t about Friends; they were promoting other sitcoms. I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised but I was looking forward to a full program about Friends.
Ok but lisa kudrow 20 minuutes and 27 secounds into the video saying : "but what they dont know is that i get into character even when im not doing the show." That was literally lisa displaying herself flawlessly as pheobe.
