I came because of your video on your other channel telling me of this channels existance, congratulations BTW a million secs sounds a great way of celebrating. Some day coming and doing that climb might be a great way of celebrating for me as right now I am practically bed bound and I am trying to vlog my climb back to walking normally. Prior to Covid I was an overweight gym bunny, but because of lock down I am insanely fat & can totter but a few steps. Quite the adventure I have taken. Why did you not take insta360 RS 1" sensor unit. It films in low light. Hopefully RU-vid will allow you to you see this reply. Thanks

About the crowds, was this perhaps Golden week rush hour?
@Beetti1
@Beetti1 Месяц назад
While the shutter speed might add some extra jittery in low light cases, what I wrote about 24 fps is absolute fact, which is why the jitter is present in all your 24 fps videos (even those outside in bright daylight), but not in your older 30 fps videos. Your "action cam" is acclaimed for good low light performance by the way and should easily keep up with any framerate in the conditions you were in. It doesn't really matter if people watch on a TV or a "monitor". Modern TVs almost all have a frequency of either 60hz or 120hz, most of them 60hz still (Even in Europe, despite always having had 25 fps as standard). There is no extra flexibility/freedom or advantage to 24 fps over 30 fps. You can do the same with 30 fps and have it look better. 24 fps does not look less cheap. It just looks jittery, but the majority of people just can't distinguish it anyway and are just going along with what they're being told is good. However, many of these people will also watch 4:3 video stretched to 16:9 and not be able to tell it doesn't look right. RU-vidrs use 24 fps because of misunderstandings, such as thinking that since films are in 24 fps, then it must be a good framerate for their videos too. It's not about being hypersensitive, but about sense of quality, rather than going with the lower quality, that 24 fps objectively is, just to satisfy the crowd's misinformed idea of what's good, while that exact crowd wouldn't be able to tell the difference anyway. The rest of the audience are just putting up with it. (I recommend learning these things)

For those interested in taking the train to visit: If you arrive on the 8:37am and leave on the 9:52am you can be back in Tokyo by lunch and you never have to climb UP those stairs. Just saying.

and here I was thinking that even as "torturous" as those stairs are, half the fun of going to Doai was climbing them😆
@kc3302
@kc3302 Месяц назад
To get there on the 08:37 train you need to catch the first northbound Shinkansen of the day from Tokyo at 06:08, change at Takasaki for the local train then change trains again at Minakami.
@thecolortwelve3784
@thecolortwelve3784 Месяц назад
@@kc3302 Depending on season you can just take the Shinkansen to Echigo Yuzawa and then just take the local Minakami to Doai directly.

That was awesome. Thanks for your effort to get to the train platform so we could get a view of the outgoing train. Great exercise. Man, that's an amazing place, loved the vibe. Also, if you have a good enough mic, you can record a loud snap on the station, clean it up a bit, load the result in a convolution reverb plugin, and done: now you have a reverb profile from the station to use in music and/or other sound effects in a studio setting. The echo seems amazing.

I have seen pretty much all your videos that you've uploaded on Doai station and every time I find myself in awe of it. If I ever get the chance to go to Tokyo again, I would love to come to Doai and experience it. In all your videos it was only ever that one old man walking up or down, and now there were probably more than hundred people, and a train. I am excited for your big adventure series, don't know if I'll be able to watch them live, but I will watch them, because I do love seeing more of Japan.

At the bottom next to the train platform, I wonder what that section is for that is fenced off. Its like a whole other platform and looks like there is a small gap between it and the actual train platform. I would guess it is either an older actual platform that isn't used anymore after maybe some track remodeling or repair, or maybe it use to be used for some small shopping kiosks that closed up.

This video and the first one with Victor are like night and day, light and dark, black and white even. If memory serves as you said, there were no one but the 2 of you, it felt like an abandoned place from a spooky video game, where you could either get murdered easily or monsters could show up; and here it is, with so much people at the top, through the stairs and at the bottom, also got a train; it feels like a true operational station, which it is but still. The contrast is so insane that I think one can't truly appreciate it without having seen the other video. This was amazing, they seem to have innovated the place by quite a bit and as for if I would go there, I definitely would if I had the time, money and opportunity, I want to climb up and down those stairs at least once but I don't think I'd do it alone though😅
