I heard a viscous rumor that this engine has no dipstick for checking the oil. Sure hope that isn't true. Multiple BMWs have been ruined by low oil reports (from the computer) inspiring the addition of tooo much oil. With no dipstick to double check the computer report. The cartoons also implied GDI without port injection. That is not good either. I won't buy turbos, or GDI without port injection, or a vehicle with no engine oil dipstick.

The hurricane has aluminum cylinders with a SPRAY ON cylinder liner. This is not a good formula for longevity.

For me I chose the Hemi V8 over the stupid Hurricane Inline Six anyday just like I chose the 5.0L Coyote V8 over the Ecoboost V6 anyday.

Timing belts are newer technology than chains. They're generally favored for their quieter running characteristics. Belts have a bad reputation due to people neglecting them, but a surprising number of engines have issues with their timing chains as well. Chain tensioner and guides tend to give out with less warning than belt tensioner and pulleys, especially if you assume that chains are maintenance-free.

I want to order one in the next couple years... maybe the hurricane 6 will be well tested and in the wrangler by then! I just hope they don't change the look of the JL too much...I really like it. JL is my favorite styling since old CJs.

2023 Dodge studied the bmw b58 inline 6. Asking a lot from a 3 litre ? Ether one seems like a great motor SO or HO, if reliable ? ? ? We`ll see.

Explosion will always be the wrong word. It's a COMBUSTION engine, utilizing a highly controlled burn. Not the same thing as an explosion

Love my ‘17 Wrangler 3.6V6. It’s easy to maintain and work in by the mechanics, whom I am friends with, after many visits! 😂 #jeeplife😭 Any new engine would be a disaster.

There's a really big problem with this video, as for explaining the twin turbos, the computer graphics are not showing the images of twin turbos, so if it's gonna be a twin turbo then you really need to show the given twin turbos, if and when this ever happens,

Misleading title! You did not go inside the Hurricane engine and this was not a deep dive. You simply read out loud their press release. Very disappointing. Gear heads who want to study the details of this engine need to look elsewhere.

The 3.6 V6 that is currently offered in the Wrangler and Gladiator is truly under powered for what most people use these vehicles for. Definitely need the Hurricane engine in these vehicles. Okay Jeep!

Either Hurricane motor will not out run the 5.7L Hemi in both 0 to 60 and quarter mile. That motor is a slug. Quality of the turbo will not last long in normal use. Wait for the fully electric version to arrive before you buy.

This video about the twin turbos does not give a clear view of the twin turbos point blank, if I were stellantis dodge, I would show an actual engine, cause the whole idea of a twin turbo sounds really interesting BUT I haven't seen anything that really shows the actual twin turbos, if you have one main intake mounted and functioning with only one turbo, I don't think I would be calling your i6 a twin turbo if you can only see one turbo, you folks need a better video

How long will that engine last. You put a lot of boost on a small engine , is there that much difference in power and fuel mileage.

Yes because they didn't simply throw a turbo on an established motor like back in the 80's. This motor was designed from the ground up for twin turbos. Cylinder pressures & all. It's not just a 100k mile motor.

If gasoline explodes in an engine, it's called "knock". Yea, um, that's bad. Typically, the gasoline burns quickly. This is basic info for an internal combustion engine.

If it explodes prematurely* If it isn't exploding inside your engine at all you have a problem. That's why they call it the "combustion" chamber on the "combustion" engine.

Yup! Jeep isn't the same company anymore. And they're relying solely on prior success. You just can't completely remake the Wrangler and then still call it a Wrangler. It's like how Ford is calling that SUV electric thing a Mustang 🤣 😔
