Soundtrack composed by Jeremy Zuckerman, from Avatar: The Legend of Korra - Book 4 Episode 13: The Last Stand. From Jeremy Zuckerman's SoundCloud page: / destroy-the-colossus 0:00 Inside 3:00 Korra vs Kuvira 4:18 Mako's Sacrifice
The Legend of Korra has the best soundtrack to any show that I've ever seen. The fact that Jeremy Zuckerman never won any official recognizations for his work on both ATLA and LoK baffles me till this day
Virtual Rose you know atla’s is 50times better than korras Here’s my favourite song from atla ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dQw4w9WgXcQ.html
Are we not gonna talk about how none of this would be possible without the redemption of Asami’s dad? Dude did some horrible things but he gave up everything to try to redeem himself in the eyes of his daughter.
@Pranith Rex but toph said that this isn’t her fight she’s done her job already she just went to save her family. same thing when the south pole was at war with the north you didn’t see katara fighting with them
@Pranith Rex and i agree they could have used that moment to attack but then there wouldn’t be a story to watch and the finale would have just been boring
@Pranith Rex Kuvira is ac a great character... she thought what she was doing was right but everyone makes mystakes as korra, das why korra saw herself in kovira...u should also read the comic ,,Ruins of empire,, kuvira is litteraly part of the gang there and her character arc and back story is explained in it
This is when I figured out Mako's deal. He might be a stoic, he might be a screwup, but he'll lay down on a bed of nails if it means keeping everyone else safe. A true bro.
MariktheGunslinger I wouldn't say he's a "screwup", but I definitely liked his character development throughout the show. He goes from being someone who tries so hard to do right by everyone but still fails due to somewhat innocent mistakes that a lot of people would make in his situations, to being someone who allows himself to be inspired by those around him and trust them enough to not feel like he's absolutely responsible for everyone out of love. But he never stops being that guy who will lay down his life for those around him
I don't korra will live as long as roku or even aang though, if the "mercury" is the same substance that it is on earth (hydrargyrum) then it already seeped unto her bloodstream, which is really, really bad
I love that every "villian" Korra faced weren't nesscarily evil. They all thought they were doing what was right for the world. Just, they all went about it the wrong way.
@@BottomOfTheDumpsterFire He was striving for Equality, but did it in a dark threatening fashion. Equality can be a good thing, but his methods were not the way to do it.
@@kei7540 Really? You think that modifying the way people's body works with bloodbending so they can't bend any more and making the general populace strive to exterminate those with bending isn't evil, while secretly being the only person left who can literally kill people by bloodbending a clot in their head, or even being able to physically make a person murder someone else without leaving any evidence? You REALLY don't see that as evil? We're not talking about Yami, the Egyptian Pharaoh from Yu-Gi-Oh, who is evil because he could have been evil, we're talking about a person who used to torture animals as a kid and then tortured countless others.
Really? Losing the Avatar spirit while battling the literal embodiment of darkness and chaos, and then giving herself up to a band of known murderers to preserve a newly rebuilt nation that had been extinct for a century, doesn't count as sacrifice?
Killian that's ok. She totally didn't sacrifice herself to save Kuvira, or to save the new Air Nation or anything like that. You Korra hater baffle me with how you find invalid reasons to dislike her character
This is why music is so important in a movie or TV show! It can absolutely make or break a scene, and in this case, it intensified everything about it 😌
The strings section always shines in Jeremy Zuckerman's score for TLOK, but the brass instruments in this track are on fire, especially during the stretch from 3:00 to 4:18.
Someone finally mentions the brass! Yes, I just finished my rewatch of Korra, and this whole sequence of the characters blasting through the colossus is so elevated by the music, and the brass matches incredibly well with the militaristic presence of Kuvira and her Earth Empire. So fucking good.
Madcat221 If I was Kuvira and I saw Korra I would be like let have tea well Korra has that look on her face that she ready to fight I will be running fast as I can. Goodbye Korra never mess with the avatar.
kuvira is honestly one of the best villains from tlok and definitely a favorite of mine. also the music from mako's sacrifice is brilliantly captivating and i get chills everytime!
The difference between LOK and ATLA, is that I could see each season of LOK being adapted into 4 epic movies. They really have that movie feeling to them.
@@haydenberends3905 I liked not because I agree( I'm that rare fan who liked everything the franchise ever aired including book 2 TLOK) but because your comment made me laugh and brightened my day. So thank you.
I love them all, except water can be a bit slow at times, and the first half of spirits is hard to watch. Other than that, these two shows are amazing!
@@LargeMollyWater177 if you love korra more than the last airbender you are probably still relatively young, am i right? nothing against you if you are, i was young once too :) the reason most older people like the last airbender over korra is that TLA characters were all far more mature and balanced. Korra characters were all half child and half teenagernor adult. just look at beifong or tensen. tensen is the worst split-personality type i have ever witnessed. on the one hand he is supposed to be the leader of a nation, the son and trainee of Aang, and on the other hand he is wrong about pretty much everything he says, especially in season two, and also has an extremely childish attitude about his responsibilities. to adults, those imbalances stand out like an adult with the right leg of a 5 year old and the left arm of a toddler. TLBs characters were far more consistent. this however doesn't mean that i don't enjoy korra, or that you should change your mind about your favorite :) by the way, mako and asami were the most adult and consistent characters. the little air bender girl who got her tattoos too. korra and tensen, followed by bolin amd beifong were the worst in that aspect.
- this isn't the time to prove how awesome you are! I already know, how awesome you are. 5:46- 6:34 dammit, this moment it's absolutely gorgeous! The strong emotion, the power ,THE VIOLINS! In my top 10 soundtracks off all time in TV series, that's for sure.
There’s a reason why you find it emotional and tragic and powerful… it’s because it’s the same string melody that plays during the opening of the Final Agni Kai
@@comicfan8350 I disagree, we need an animated Season 5, we still need to know how Korra will reconnect with her past lives. Plus Season 2 should also get redone
@@DivineBeastVahMedoh korra will not reconnect with her past lives.... the whole erasure of her past lives was meant to be symbolic, it was the start of a new 10 thousand years of light since Avatar Wan, Korra is basically the new cycle's first avatar after the harmonic convergence.
@@qkbarbland4332 right but it was only done because of Unalaq, otherwise she could’ve kept that connection. Season 2 was overall disrespectful to the fandom, by explaining the origins of the avatar and then severing the connection with the past lives cutting off the last connection to Aang really brings down the mystery behind the avatar and the wonder behind the reincarnation cycle, brings the whole show down
@Pranith Rex If she killed Zaheer then who will help Korra to go to the spirit world? We have the same expectations to Kuvira tho. BTW I love TLOK, it is not as good as ATLA but it is also good
As much as I think it would've been great if Asami got to rebuild with her father and work on Future Industries together as a family, I think his sacrifice was important. I'm glad they kept Mako, Su, and Lin alive, there was really no reason for them to die as they didn't really have any redemption arcs. I guess Lin kind of had an arc, but I think that was mainly Lin going from abrasive and brutal to slightly less abrasive and brutal lol. And y'know, as soon as Bolin found out that Kuvira was evil, he left unlike Hiroshi who never seemed to get the memo that Amon was a horrible guy and didn't really care about bending equality (he did a bit but not really)
belphredgor it's called "To Heal". I'm sure you can find it somewhere on RU-vid if you looked it up. I think a few different channels have posted it :)
A friendship that contains both friends sacrificing anything or even themselves for each other is the best friendship you can get, but.... a lot of those friendships don't happen during these times, and I find it sad since I want a friendship like that, because I would be willing to sacrifice anything for my friend that sacrifices anything for me.
The full scene is on YT kids where comments are disabled, so I'll say it here: have y'all noticed how absolutely stunning the animation and sound design are in Korra's fight against Kuvira in the mech suit? The way the movements flow, how Korra's hair follows her movement (hair is one of the toughest parts of the body to animate btw), how Kuvira or Korra getting smashed onto the floor / into equipment both have unique sounds (especially Kuvira's metal armor crashing on metal)...
@@comicfan8350 Zuckerman seems quite confident that it's going to happen. Avatar Studios sounds like they want to make a big multi-media push, so releasing the OSTs will be a natural part of that.
While ATLA is a great show TLOK's soundtrack is so much better! But ATLA's soundtrack is still great! Like, I mean ATLA is better then TLOK in other things while TLOK is better than ATLA in other things, but TLOK's soundtrack is just better.
This soundtrack fit perfectly with the show but is just a good without the show. And e fact it’s all authentic without any technological instruments. If you listen very very closely, you can hear every instrument playing it’s own melody. John Williams got some competition
When I think legend of korra I think of this action of what you have never seen before and some of the most epic music to complement it just makes wanna to see what a new avatar show could do
