McDonald's moved its headquarters back to Chicago on the site of Oprah Winfrey's Harpo Studios.
The $250 million building, which opened on Monday, is part of the Golden Arches' push to become a "more modern and progressive burger company," a long-standing goal of CEO Steve Easterbrook.
"We were based on the edge of the city for about the last 40 something years," Easterbrook told CNBC Monday. "It's been a wonderful facility for us, but it was a little detached from everyday life."
The new facility is located in Chicago's West Loop, an up-and-coming neighborhood known for its trendy restaurants. It is here that Easterbook foresees the company cultivating top talent and tapping into emerging food crazes.

I just had the bad luck of having my breakfast at MacDonald's. Not only did they not give me what I ordered, I paid 9.00 for it. I usually get my breakfast at Burger King and it's ssoooo much better. At Burger King I get a bacon egg and cheese w/heavy bacon. The meal cones with a medium coffee, hash browns (,alot of them) it comes with a croissant and it's only 7.17 and it is delicious, the very best. I ordered a bacon, egg and cheese w/extra bacon at MacDonald's on 50st. And 3rd Ave. NYC. They didn't give me the food that I ordered which should have come on a biscuit, instead they gave it to me on an untoasted English muffin. It was horrible I ate most of it anyway so as not to create any problems. The place was filthy and where I had to sit was filthy, syrup which had dried and pieces of eggs all over the table while a worker sat at the very same table on a phone. She heard me say that the table was filthy yet she stayed on her phone. All this happened because the workers could barely speak English. Barely!!! Never never never ever having breakfast at MacDonald's again. I have breakfast at a certain Burger King 7 days a week and I get exactly what I ask for and it's 2.00 cheaper(2.15) actually. Oh never again. Try to hire at least one American ENGLISH speaking people. MacDonald's used to be so good in the 70's and 80's. What happened??? Even their burgers are disgusting and thank God for Wendy's. The very best hamburger fast food and at a reasonable price. Bye, bye MacDonald's. I'll make sure to urge my friendsbto not go to MacDonald's for anything!!!!!😣😣😣
