Mexico's war on drugs has claimed the lives of tens of thousands of people in the past decade. Countless attempts by authorities to stem the violence have so far failed. Mexico's President, Enrico Pena Nieto promised a lower-profile approach to tackling the cartels, focussing on local level gang members. To see if this approach has been working.

Crazy, how these guys are just so relaxed watching TV like any ordinary person yet they have murdered hundreds of people in the most horrific ways.

The Sinaloa Cartel doesn't kill innocent people they kill Zetas. Zetas are the ones that kill and extort people. The media portrays the Sinaloa Cartel as evil the media doesn't know anything. El Chapo helped many towns by giving them money and building schools. There's a reason why people support him so much.
@RockozWindyCity

I hope you know that some of these "people" don't have an option. They are made by the cartels to kill for them if they don't they get killed. Some of these "people" do Otto support there families. You might think it's silly why not get a real job but theres literally no point specially when cartels expect for you to give them half of what you make whether you own your business or you work for someone else.

SODMGBANDZ I know that many man are threatened by cartels, they´re mostly people without big studies that don´t have a regular salary, they live in poverty wich makes them vulnerable to be victims of cartels and it´s sad, I don´t know what would I do in ther place, the need of protecting my family´s lives can be strong but a person that has lost all feeling of humanity and is used to make all atrocities like they were "normal" is a person that is already dead inside, or dead in live.

Tsrif Tsal drug business is the biggest illicit industry in the world. USA is the largest consumer. You could blame both for Mexico’s condition. Legalize drugs like Marijuana, have your own legal farms, and make more rehabilitation centers for the junkies in America and that could be a huge step in slowing the drug trade for some time.

Damien Holland Some of them actually do, for fear of being badly totured if you don't tell them what they want to hear. On RU-vid you can watch PGR(police) interviews of people who have been arrested for big offenses like drug trafficking , hitman, ect .. But on another note if they do snitch, the cartel is going to find out one way or another, by that time the persons whole family is going to be dead already.

@jayare9531
@jayare9531 9 лет назад
Ur right about the zetas being the more technologically advansed but they are not the most organized. The zetas operate in individual cells some groups of zetas have never met other cells or even heard of them. While the sinaloa cartel since its birth have operated like a somewhat traditional crime family connected through blood, marriage or longterm friendships
@franciscogardening
@franciscogardening 9 лет назад
thats right. not knowing other cells of your own group is the goal of sucess. it makes law enforcement very hard to catch up because they will never know who they really work for and when their end come, police never makes it to a higher comand boss. ive seen documentals on the subject.

the USA will not allow them to legalize drugs if mexico does legalize drugs the USA would cut all funds to them.

@@captainpinky8307 Most of Europe is very safe. I lived in The Netherlands for 8 years. Extremely low levels of violence altogether (compared to the US or other countries).
@damienholland9244
@damienholland9244 2 года назад
@solidgoldz You're right it's everywhere. I just think the issue is more nuanced than that when comparing countries. One cannot compare the US' overflowing prisons with The Netherlands prisons, or the murder rates, and say we both have it equal. We don't.

Police chief sure does have some fancy weaponry that closely resembles the cartels arsenal more than the dilapidated Mexican Government arsenal weapons you see most of the other Mexican Soldiers, Marines & Police issued. He is cartel. When the Civilians say he is and then the Cartel themselves claim he is on their payroll that doesn't leave much room for argument. Either that or he sits on both sides.

The only way to put such gangs out of business is to legalize drugs. America should find some way to legalize illicit drugs like some European nations have done. That doesn't mean anyone can buy cocaine or meth in their local supermarkets but if they are designated a drug addict, they can get their daily fix for free at a local pharmacy. A few nations who have tried this tactic have not only seen a substantial drop in crime but also in the number of addicts. Some people may disagree with this solution but it should now be obvious that this war on drugs has failed and all countries like America and Mexico have done is waste billions upon billions of dollars (and pesos) trying to fight an unwinnable war. It's time to admit defeat.
