Only $8,000 for Whiplash!? He acted his ass off in that movie. I binged all his movies after Top Gun. SUCH a talented and likeable guy. Can't wait to see what's next for him.
Loving miles teller since forever, and in this movie he killed it loved top gun: maverick watch too much I'm glad to see him getting the recognition he deserves!!
What beautiful irony that he thought you needed to look like and Ambercrombie and Fitch model and didn’t but went for it any way and followed his passion and now he has shattered the A&F model at Mach speed 😄
Oh my goodness!! Spiderhead was a great movie!! He showed so many facets of himself and really showed how diverse he can be. I love his work and he is just going to continue to rise!! He has a beautiful wife who loves him and is so supportive of him as you can see on her social media:) All the best for this lovely couple!!
He has a very distinguished voice. You can recognize it any where. He’s not on the same level as these actors like Morgan Freeman, Denzil Washington, but they too have “that voice”.
This video just proves why he is like able. I can’t believe he only made $8,000 for Whiplash. My son and I talk about that movie all the time and how much we love it. I hope that shows how meaningful your movies are Miles. I had to see the new Top Gun just because you were in it. I just love your work. Keep being in movies. I love you in The Spectacular Now. That’s one of my Favorites. You have this great way of mixing comedy into a serious character so well. You’re so good at it. I can see why your wife is so proud of you.
They can get away with these low paying "scale " roles because it leads to bigger profile roles/ step up the ladder. 1984 Bruce Willis was a bartender comedian and singer when got +just $1200 for his credited debut in an episode of TV series 1 Miami Vice in 1984. +And got $800 for the opening episode of the All New Twilight Zone series also 1984. +After Miami Vice he beat 3000 actors to then land the lead role on new TV series Moonlighting. He even initially got paid less than costar Cybill Shepherd as she was already a big time actress despite the fact it was obvious after episode 1 he had become the star. +By 1988 he was highest paid actor in Hollywood with Die Hard. New uncredited actors are extremely cheap. Many are talented actors just looking for that big break. That's why productions hire unknowns like Miles so that they can pay the Nicole Kidman's the huge salaries and balance the budget. Miles will just be greatful to be casted opposite a prestigious actress in a role that can get his foot in the Industry. A few years later Whiplash happened and his career took off. Miles is not quite at the level where he can open a movie on being Miles Teller (I think beyond Meryl, Tom Cruise and Leonardo DiCaprio that won't happen any more). The era of the $20m a movie actor is almost over.
Yes but technically Jk Simmonds (bully conductor) was the big name in that movie and did the flashier performance (Oscar winning) despite Miles drumming. Unknown, previously uncredited and first timeactors get paid very little. Bruce Willis only got about $1000 for his first credited acting job on Miami Vice. That's why so many unknown actors who appear in cameo roles in police TV episodes of ncis, or CSI still work in bars, wait tables. However Mark Harmon who's been in ncis from the start is worth $100m. There's literally millions of would be actors who'd work for less than $8000 if it means a potential big break.
There's just something about him 😍 He was perfect as Wilard on the Footloose remake, like spot on! (even though I hated the movie!) And he was perfect playing Goose's son...looked just like him. He's a fantastic actor!
Unknown actors make very little money unless they get nominated straight away or raise their profiles eg dating an established star (Gwyneth Paltrow dated Brad Pitt, Matt Damon dating Winona Ryder etc)
