Peter, you've done it again! Yup,I agree,Shabbos is literally the highlight of our week. And,if I may just add,all over the jewish religious world, not limited to chassidim per se(except of course the chassidic garb) I do want to elaborate on a point which I'm not sure came through enough: The reason why Shabbos is so special,is because it reminds us every week again of our role and purpose in this world. When G'd created man,HE gave him permission to conquer it, to develop and to use the planet's resources. However, all too easily could man forget himself and overstep his bounderies by exploiting the world and fellow man in his quest for conquer. He needs constant reminding of the fact that the world isn't his to own,but merely to look after with care. That affects both his relationship with nature and fellow man. Both the planet and fellow human ought to be respected, cared for and dealt with fairly. Shabbos is there to remind man of his responsibilities; by refraining from all activities which are generated by the human mind, he's constantly being reminded that the he,as acomplished as he might be in developing the world by the use of his sophisticated mind, ultimatly,he is not in charge and the planet isn's his to own. That generates humility. It's with this lesson in mind that we aproach the following week. Understanding what our responsibilities ought to be and Who we're subject to. Note, that the forbidden activities on shabbos aren't necessarily activities which require bodily effort, but activities which are born of a result of the human mind. Like lighting fire(or in today's times, all matters related to electricity..) It's not the animal like body which is put to the test, but the sophisticated human mind. This is the deeper lesson of shabbos and that's why shabbos is called" the covenant between the Jew and his Creator "( proclaimed in the words in the kiddush, the blessing over the cup of wine at the onset of the meal) Aside from the "don't does "on shabbos, there's a special obligation to honor the shabbos with special food, drink, clothing set aside for shabbos. I think that part came across very well in the video. Needless to say that different families have different means and most aren't as elaberate, however, they all, across the board will save the best and finest for shabbos. Even little children know that goodies are bought for shabbos.. One more note: Peter mentioned the meal being jovial and lighter than expected. Yes,there's great atmosphere around the table, but the conversation also includes discussing the part of the bible which is read in the synagoge that week(a different portion every week), it's meaning and lessons for us. Children contribute to the conversation by sharing all they've learned ,stories are being told. Like I said, shabbos carries a message,to remind us of man's connection to G'd and his purpose in this world and that's reflected in the conversation at the table. Not in a heavy, stiff or boring way, but rather in an intelectual, interesting way, keeping both kids and adults entertained. I thank you Peter, and your hosts for allowing viewers across the globe that get an idea as to why shabbos is so sacred to us,and please note again, that the beauty and unique atmosphere isn't dependant on the exterior of the home, but you'll find the warmth and the joy and the delicious food in very simple homes too!!!

As a Christian I got a job as ofc manager in an orthodox yeshiva in upstate New York. Some of the best times and memories were spent with the rabbis and their families. As a single mother I was struggling to make ends meet. I was invited to their homes, they made me wonderful meals, took me and my daughter in as one of their own. Kind, warm, wonderful people who taught me so much about tradition and culture. I will keep those years and fond memories I spent with them in my heart forever.

Matthew 26:28 and Luke 24:45-47 tell us that Jesus was born for the purpose of dying so that our sins may be forgiven. Genesis 12:1-3 says that G-d will bless those who support the great nation begun by Abram. The bible teaches throughout that G-d loves both Jews and Gentiles. Mike and Phil are correct. THANK YOU Peter & Shloime & those prayerful 5 Rabbis for allowing Us into the ❤ of your Community to Respectfully Witness your Holiest time of the week & your True Worship of YHWH Our 1 & only Almighty Creator ! I am a Sister in Christ. Yeshua Meshiach is my Living Savior & My Lord also does NOT instruct Me to Convert, but only to Love + Serve my fellow Human Children of "The Great I AM". Israelites + Christians are ALL Children of Abraham. So, as Beatific as the wonderfully Spiritually engaged young boy IS, He may well be My Brother. As a True Daughter of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, bar Joseph, I must remind @ No Name that to harbor UNforgiveness in your 💜 is to deny the Holy Power of Yeshua's Divine Sacrifice for ALL who are Human & for ALL TIME ! YOU have committed a great Sacrilige by JUDGing others, when ALL JUDGEMENT belongs solely to Our Lord / The Alpha + Omega / The WORD. Will You have to hear Jesus Christ say directly to You, "No Name" that He does NOT know You ????? 🐦 REPENT or prepare for the Wailing + Gnashing of your OWN teeth on Judgement Day. Let Us all be as Grateful for Goodness in Life.... as purely as the Graceful + Blessed young Boy is demonstrating so sincerely with His True Knowledge of YHWH's LOVE & The Miracle of LIFE bestowed upon Us every Day. Please Remember The Scripture written in your ❤ bc Our YHWH is Truly Awesome & SO Great We cannot fully fathom His Reality. Our only hope to even stand in His Shikinah Glory is to harbor HUMILITY, Compassion & Empathy in Our Hearts so 🙏 Our Minds may be REnewed with YHWH'S Wisdom 🙏 ALL Who SINCERELY seek The WAY, The TRUTH & The LIFE will be Saved in The Book of Life Everlasting. Our Hearts must be fully Circumcised (of our own Egos) by His Word . Surrender your foolish Worldly Pride, Fear + Resentments & OPEN YOUR HEART (Judas) to YHWH's Perfect LOVE. HALLELUJAH! May We ALL BE as ONE. "If ye are not One, ye are not Mine. My Sheep know My Voice & They DO My Father's Will. " May YHWH have MERCY on Our Souls. Thank You for keeping His Sabbath. Very key to becoming closer to YHWH SELAH. 💫

As a Chasidish woman, I am highly appreciative to the fact that 5 Rabbis were asked to get a 'green light' to do this video. I highly appreciate that you did your best with respect to follow the rules that the Rabbis instruct you. The video was done in a family whose household is a very easy economical level. But I must say that in a family who is not so fortunate, the atmosphere is the same and the shabbos rules are respected in the same way. This is what brings us happiness and Bracha ( blessing) to the week to come, all the year round. Thanks for this good video. Something that shone brightly in this video is how much agency, independence and fun the children in this video had. I thoroughly enjoyed watching them play (in mixed age groups), come up with their own games and create a world of their own, independent from the adults. They were simply allowed to be themselves and that was absolutely beautiful. I dont think many children have these opportunities today. As a parent and life long student of child development, it was a pure joy to watch the children so full of joy and totally in their element. That's how it should be for all children ❤

I worked for a orthodox Jewish family here in Los Angeles. When I tell you, they were the nicest people EVER!!!! Just very down to earth and respectable. I can say, I learned a lot working with them. Anytime they educated us about their religious "do's and don'ts...", It never came off condescending, ever. You can tell that they were really at peace with life. Oh, and Fridays were the best. All the orthodox employees left at 11am to make it home for the Sabbath and the rest of us chilled. It kinda set the mood for our weekend too.

I must admit for all its worth. I have never had an interest in learning about the Jewish community, where I grew up it was always one of those things, where if you see them leave them alone and if they see me they leave me alone. Let me be clear “I NEVER HAD BAD INTENTIONS OR HAD ANY BAD THOUGHTS ON THEIR COMMUNITY’ it was simply just the norm to not interact with the Jewish community especially being Hispanic in a mostly Hispanic community like Hudson county in NJ. The lifestyle of someone in the Jewish community was always very secretive or at least that’s how it came off. Now fast forwarding into today and watching all of Peter’s videos around the Jewish community, I am very happy and very thankful to watch and learn. I Now for sure have so much more knowledge, respect and appreciation for the Jewish community I really do. I also find it my duty to teach others on what I have learned its the right thing to do. In a world like the one we live in today I think all religions should really capture certain high points of each other’s religions, something as simple and beautiful like the meaning of Sabbath is very interesting and seems to be a very necessary reset for our minds, our bodies and our world. I will say this, I really feel the Jewish community should begin to take some interest in educating others about their culture and their religion, I really feel that its necessary and would only bring good to the table. Thank You for the videos and sorry that it took me so long to understand and appreciate.

@shterny she didn’t say the comparison was made, but it is an important thing to note. Most frum people aren’t living on the same physical standards as you. May your home always be filled with good.

@Shterny Steinmetz absolutely well said. Just because a person has money or affluence does not mean they are any less spiritual. It’s the heart that matters and loving our neighbors as ourselves ( Leviticus) Moreover Hashem can utilize people with money to give Tzedakah to the less fortunate. One can be poor financially but mean spirited and one can be rich financially and loving. The opposite is true as well. Thank you for your hospitality in allowing the general public to experience something may never have had the opportunity. I am from LA and (please excuse my ignorance) and each year on local TV was televised the Jerry Lewis MD telethon and The Jewish Chabbard telethon which was different. I always looked forward to the Jewish telethon because everyone seemed so involved and having fun. I was able to see a lot of Jewsih celebrities, and the Rabbis were such positive people. That food looks incredible, as do the women. I came from a catholic family where the closeness was all a facse and a fraus, and seeing this video makes me feel good to see people have a genuine bond with family. I am drawn to these videos and to this community's discipline, respect and love for family and God. One has to ask themselves why the Jewish community is so successful in general (I don't mean financially only, i mean across all metrices of success) and it seems to me that it starts with that respect for their history, their culture, their religion and their family. If all families in the US had this structure, regardless of religion, I think we would be a much healthier country, both politically and morally. Thanks for sharing.

It says in the Bible that they will be the head and not the tail. So that means they will lead in many ways, especially financially as they are very shrewd financially. God made them very intelligent. He gave them a lot of insight personally into many things, this even having to do with the Mosaic Law. Thus I understood from someone who asked a Jewish woman once about this, that they literally praise the living day lights out of a kid, makes them to believe they are best, a lot of self-confidence makes them a go-getter : )) in every way.

@@biancahotca3244 Being "very shrewd financially" is an anti-semitic trope. Sure, THIS family that he filmed was obviously very well-off, but there is no shortage of destitute Jews.
