Rail Wheel Factory: A Story of Self-Reliance in India's Railways
The Rail Wheel Factory stands as a remarkable example of realizing India's self-reliance dreams. In the 1980s, around 55% of the railway wheels used in the country were imported. However, the establishment of the Rail Wheel Factory in the 1970s changed the course of history.
In 1984, the factory produced its first set of wheels and has never looked back since then. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdown, the Rail Wheel Factory has resumed production with strict precautionary measures. Approximately 2,000 employees work diligently, undergoing thermal screenings and mandatory hand sanitization upon entering the premises. Adhering to social distancing norms is crucial both during entry and while working inside the factory.
Wearing face masks is mandatory for all employees, ensuring their safety and well-being. Additionally, every employee is required to use the Aarogya Setu app, further enhancing health and safety measures.
The Rail Wheel Factory's commitment to self-reliance and adherence to stringent safety protocols showcases its dedication to contributing to India's railways. With this resolute approach, the factory continues to play a pivotal role in meeting the nation's demand for train wheels and axles, boosting India's vision of self-sufficiency in the railway sector.
रेल व्हील फैक्ट्री भारत के आत्मनिर्भरता के सपने को साकार करने वाली सबसे जोरदार कहानी है 80 के दशक में देश में रेलवे में इस्तेमाल होने वाले रेल के पहियों का 55 फ़ीसदी हिस्सा विदेश से आयात किया जाता था 70 के दशक में रेल व्हील फैक्ट्री स्थापित करने का काम शुरू हुआ
वर्ष 1984 में यहां पर पहला व्हील्सेट बनाया गया उसके बाद रेल व्हील फैक्ट्री ने फिर पीछे मुड़कर नहीं देखा
कोरोना वायरस संक्रमण के चलते हुए लॉक डाउन की वजह से
बंद पड़ी रेल व्हील फैक्ट्री ने दोबारा उत्पादन शुरू कर दिया है लेकिन इसके लिए हर तरीके के एहतियाती कदम उठाए गए हैं यहां पर तकरीबन 2000 कर्मचारी काम करते हैं जब यह कर्मचारी फैक्ट्री के अंदर आते हैं तो उनकी जांच की जाती है उनकी थर्मल स्क्रीनिंग की जाती है हैंड सैनिटाइजर का इस्तेमाल जरूरी है फैक्ट्री में घुसते वक्त और अंदर काम करते वक्त सोशल डिस्टेंसिंग का पालन करना जरूरी है
इसी के साथ यहां पर काम करने वाले सभी कर्मचारियों के लिए फेस मास्क लगाना अनिवार्य है
हर एक कर्मचारी के लिए आरोग्य सेतु ऐप का इस्तेमाल जरूरी है
