About 200 million Wolbachia-Aedes aegypti mosquitoes have been bred at the National Environment Agency's (NEA) "mosquito factory" since it was opened in 2019 and then released in certain areas of the island, to reduce the Aedes mosquito population.

This method works to lower aedes here in Malaysia, I believe this method can be used to lower other types of mosquitoes too

I am not sure if the wolbachia are indeed all males. Because whenever they released it, I will be circulated by mosquitoes trying to bit me

Singapore hard to have good scientists or thinkers. Because at the formative age when you think all is going well, you need to be enlisted into army. Creativity and thinking processes would be curtailed. People already an introvert and an intellect might probably get worst to become a yes man. Hence no choice have to recruit foreign scientists.

Nope…it might be adding to the issue n the higher rate of cases here. The fundamental of any organisms n living things is their ability to adapt n evolve. They been releasing these barren female mosquitoes a couple years back yet rather than reducing the cases. It is giving us Denggi variant not prevailing here. It just got worst with the hotter weather. It could be possible male mosquitoes not ‘attracted’ to mates which r unable to breed. They might not carry the right pheromones. Never mess with Mother Nature 🌬 She will put u in ur place. The Arrogance Of Human just Unbelievable. Covid is a living example how a virus cause Governments in the World n Healthcare Providers scrambling to get it together.

What happens if the mosquito evolve to overcome Wolbachia? Does NEA conduct regular genetic studies on the mosquito population?

NEA was too busy measuring distances, getting into arguments, or catching the odd maskless persons - all in support of the equally, if not more incompetent Min of health’s useless mandates, instead of doing their job, hence the current situation.
