Egyptian government purposely misread the treaty. The treaty was between Egypt and Sudan on using their share of Nile as sharing bcause of anglo-egyptian sudan. Egypt now try to claim it applies to countries that didn't sign or didn't even exist. Even if NIle is split between all 11 nile nations, their share falls big league.
Sisi is a wise men, he understands stopping Ethiopia is easier said than done. Egypt, despite the dam, should look into alternative solutions the climate is changing and the water is reducing.

You know one thing has to be clear for all of the worlds that Ethiopia contributes 86% to the Nile river and on the other side, Sudan and Egypt contribute nothing to Nile river. Both countries wants to stick on the colonial agreements of 1929 and 1959 which Ethiopia didn't sign on this dead fish agreement. Above all, Ethiopia has the full right to construct hydro electric power even water dam without causing significant effect on the lowersrteam countries over the Nile river. Egypt has to know our right very well. We Ethiopians do not want to harm the lowerstreams countries however our population have suffered from a drought so many times and ask the government to bring development so many times to be free from these problems. They have to share our peoples problem ratherthan focusing only on their problems. Lets develop together.If we agree the water is enough to all of us. Ethiopia has full rights to use its resources based on scientific merits regardless of downstream countries permission. No one can stop it from finalizing GERD. It is the good will of Ethiopians to share Nile for others. Ethiopians are following scientific merits unlike rigid Egypt politicians (cohirt of rude soldiers). Better they agree on Ethiopian plan than barking day in day out. History tells who is the best warrior.
