Inside The $60 Million Dassault Falcon 7X Private Jet
0:00 - Intro
This is the Dassault Falcon 7X, an aircraft that belongs to an elite class of long-range business jets. Manufactured by Dassault Aviation, the Dassault Falcon 7X is known for its luxury, efficiency, and style. Today we’re going inside the Dassault Falcon 7X to talk about everything you need to know about this amazing aircraft.
0:45 - Cabin
Inside, the Dassault Falcon 7X features a huge cabin. Upon boarding the Dassault Falcon 7X, passengers will pass through the galley. Opposite the galley there’s space for a full-sized crew area. The galley area also includes a forward lavatory for pilots and crew members.
The cabin is organized into three zones with a variety of custom floorplan options available, able to accommodate anywhere from 12 to 16 passengers, and is technologically as advanced as its cockpit.
The first zone features four ergonomically adjustable executive seats arranged club-style around foldout sidewall tables. The Dassault Falcon 7X has 28 large windows.
The second zone features a conference-style seating arrangement, where passengers can host business meetings, get caught up on work, or share a meal. Opposite the seating is a sidewall credenza, and lower cabinets for additional storage. The four seats in the second zone can be converted to a bed.
The third zone, situated toward the rear of the aircraft, is a stateroom that features two divans that can also be converted into beds. All three zones offer separate climate controls.
Past the third and final zones, travelers will find the aft lavatory, which can even include an optional shower installation. Finally, the baggage area at the very rear of the aircraft features a full-length wardrobe.
3:25 - Cockpit
The Dassault Falcon 7X is the first business jet in the world to be equipped with a Digital Flight Control System. Technical details aside, due to the Dassault Falcon 7X’s spacious cockpit layout, Sherpa-lined seats, and simplistic design with three large display units, many consider it to be one of the cleanest cockpits of any business jet.
Newer Dassault Falcon 7X models feature either the EASy II or the EASy II+, including the Honeywell Primus Epic System. The cockpit is dominated by four 13×10-inch flat-panel, high-resolution, LCD screens of the EASy avionics system. The PFD in front of each pilot displays everything you need to fly the airplane. The two equally large multifunction displays stacked in the center can be accessed by either pilot and can show every bit of information about the flight and the airplane.
The EASy system is controlled primarily by two big trackball cursor control devices mounted on the center pedestal. Buttons to the sides act as “enter” keys.
Dassault has made remarkable and welcome strides in cockpit automation with the Dassault Falcon 7X. Most noticeable is that the circuit breaker panel is gone from the cockpit.
The Dassault Falcon 7X was the first business jet to come to market with full fly-by-wire computerized flight controls. The four display screens are easy to read, and minor carping associated with the first iteration of Dassault Falcon 7X avionics seems to have been largely addressed with the EASy II or II+ upgrade that most owners have opted for to comply with new avionics mandates. However, the price of the upgrade can top $1 million.
6:11 - Engine and Performance
The Dassault Falcon 7X is powered by three Pratt & Whitney Canada PW307A engines with a TBO of 7,200 hours, each producing 6,400 lbs of thrust. Maximum speed is Mach 0.90, maximum cruise speed is Mach 0.80, and maximum cruising altitude is 51,000 feet or 15,500 meters, with an average hourly fuel burn of 320 gallons or 1,210 liters.
The Dassault Falcon 7X has a maximum range of 5,950 nautical miles, which is 6,847 miles or 11,020 kilometers. The plane can take off in 5,710 feet or 1,740 meters, and has a minimum landing distance of 2,070 feet or 630 meters, with a maximum full-fuel payload of 4,400 lbs or 2,000 kg. The Dassault Falcon 7X reaches 39,000 feet or 11,900 meters in as little as 15 minutes after takeoff, and has a maximum rate of climb per minute of 2,055 feet or 626 meters.
7:36 - Purchase and Charter Price
The base purchase price for a new Dassault Falcon 7X is $54 million before options, and the charter price ranges between $8,000 and $12,000 per hour. Naturally, prices will vary depending on availability, fuel prices, ground fees, and more.
7:52 - Operating Cost
While the annual fixed cost is roughly $700,000 to $900,000, the average hourly operating cost is estimated at $4,000 to $7,000.

If I was in the market I would 100% buy a 7x over a comparably priced g550

The fuel efficiency on this is actually great if it only burns 320 gallons per hour and can fly upto .9Mach. Solid choice for a craft. Any known maintenance issues?

LOL, Sam knows not of what he speaks... I've flown/managed both Gulfstreams & 7X over a 10 year period. I could bore you with the details, but the Dassault product is leagues ahead of most Gulfstream products. Only the very latest G-X products have come close in some areas. For example, Gulfstream stayed with the same "antique" airfoil for decades longer than they should have.
