This was the era that I became a fan. I loved watching this and hearing some of the stories from back in the day, reminiscing about what drew me to this team in the first place and why I've remained steadfast in my support since then (as tough as that's been at many a time!) Loved this series!!!
During the '91 season, the Falcons were playing in the old stadium for the final year. The players parking lot was between the Stadium and the fans parking lot. Me and my friend walked through the players parking lot on the way back to my car. As we were walking through the players lot, we walked right by Michael Haynes as he was putting his gym bag in his Porsche. We said "Hey" and he turned around and talked with us for about 10 or so minutes. Very humble and polite young man. That was over 30 years ago and it has stuck with me all these years. He still seems the same.
So much fun watching these and remembering the special 1991 team and season!! I remember being excited when Jerry Glanville was hired! Had so many favorites on that team!! RIP to the players who have passed. 🖤❤️🖤❤️🖤❤️
This was so good-I didn’t want it to end! I truly believe that team was good enough to have won it all! They had so much talent and will to win-I’ll never forget that season and how proud I was to be a falcon fan-that team was so special!
These have been really cool. Thanks to the media team for putting this together, not only for us, but for the guys on the team. I’m sure it’s always cool to be remembered like this. I’d love to see one on the 98 team, preferably without having to wait until 2028 lol. The 2008 was a great one. Out of the ashes of what that 2007 team was comes the young kid, the new coach, and the new GM and a team everyone thought had no chance went 11-5 and made it to the playoffs. What a year. The problem is ALL of these great seasons end in heartbreak. I love that 2016 squad but damn if it doesn’t hurt to even think about it.
2016 Falcons Kyle Shanahan was SUCH a great offense, and it changed the game. The 2018 and 2019 49ers NFC Champs offenses schematically are a lot like 2016 Falcons. The NFL would be all shotgun all the time but the shanahan/kubiak/mcvey school brought back under center in order to have hard play action you can't do in shotgun.
The 1991 Falcons were a lot of fun to watch. Even as a 9 year old kid in Springfield, Missouri. At that time the Chiefs were boring, and the Mizzou Tigers sucked. So the 91 Falcons for me, we're the most fun team in the NFL, and they gave me a lot of confidence. Jesse Tuggle is still one of my favorite MLB's to ever play the game. A couple years later, I played for a pre wee team in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, called the Falcons, so I followed the Atlanta Falcons from Missouri ever since. Great Times!!!!!! #2Legit2Legit2Quit
The 1991 Saints had #1 D and one of the best LB corps in a 3-4 ever fielded this side of 2008 Steelers and 80's NYG. But the 91 Falcons turned them into a forgotten footnote! Only Profootballreference nerds like me and N.O. locals aged 40+ know they existed.
Man until Rich McKay leave and Arthur Blank make serious changes such as bringing the "swagger" mentality back to the team. We going to consistently look forward to next year every year.
Blank is too corporate and he keeps trying to save money by hiring unknown, inexperienced coaches. Just compare Tampa who's been in the league fewer yrs but hired Dungee, Gruden and Arians and they now have 2 super bowls.
