I was 12 when I saw this team on TV. Changed my life! Cool black Jerseys and rowdy swag. I remember before the game they had a fake helmet of the other team and would hold it up during the team huddle before the game. Classic! Needless to say I became a Falcons fan from that moment on! Rise up. !
My dad went to alot of games at the Fulton stadium. He said when they were real bad, him and his buddy would be the only people in the whole section and the beer guy would sit with them..
This is amazing-my favorite falcons team and I’ve been a fan since 1972! That team was the total package of just everything! That team excelled in all 3 phases and was so fun to watch and root for! They had a deep passion for their teammates, their city and their fanbase! I would love to hear from Tim mckyer, Brian Jordan, norm Johnson and many others! Do they still talk to their teammates? What are some of them doing today? Did they have a true hatred for the Saints, niners and cowboys like I did and still do today? And finally, how bad do we beat the redskins on a dry day in the divisional series? Great stuff can’t wait for part 3!
Also, I've looked up many videos for the falcons history, and there's not a lot of stories from the actual staff and players. Kinda like a behind the scenes thing lol.
Been a Falcons fan since 1978, and why in the hell are we commemorating the 1991 team???? A. They didn't even win the division that yeat, the 'Ain't did B. We got our asses handed to us in the divisional round by the Redskins 24-7 And lest we forget, we only finished 10-6 that year, which is bookend with a 5-11 record in 1990, and a 6-10 record in 1992. If you're gonna commemorate ANY team, do the 1998 team that finished 14-2, won the division, then did the impossible by going to Minnesota and beating a then-unbeatable team in the Randall Cunnigham/Randy Moss led Vikings and claiming the NFC Crown which propelled us to Super Bowl XXXIII! Commemorating the 1991 team makes no sense sorry lol
From an outsider's perspective, it's less because of exactly how the '91 team did _on_ the field and more because of everything it was _off_ of it. If you wanted a break point where the identity of the Atlanta Falcons as they are today really starts to gel together, 1991 is probably the year. That's in the Glanville-Sanders years where you had MC Hammer on the sidelines, the Dirty Bird really starts showing up, the whole culture of the team really gets that Dirty South feeling after decades of mixed identities. I mean, hell, there's a reason the doc is called "The Rudest Team"! It's not about how the stats added up. It's about their identity, how they played, who they were. (And frankly, 1998 couldn't be told without actually telling the story of Super Bowl XXXIII, and Super Bowl XXXIII's story couldn't be told without having to drag some guys out of the past and digging up all the long-buried drama and grime that took place around that Super Bowl. That would be cruel to them and not really fun to watch, in my opinion.)
Live in the now bro! You really think your the first troll to post this on a Falcons thread? lol If the Falcons fans have moved on, so should trolls and hecklers. smfh 🙄🙄
