Allen4s what is your supporting documents on your above claim? There is only one Emperor in Ming Dynasty who did not attend the meeting for 20+ years because of the overwhelmingly powerful cabinet. When you say many, who are you referring to??
@@麒麟葉 Jiajing and his grandson Wanli。Jiajing did not attend meetings for 20 years. Wanli didn’t for almost 30 years. There is also the Zhengde emperor, who did things his own ways. That’s just the Ming dynasty.

Concubines are from the highest class of nobility descended from people who contributed greatly to society. The tradition is justified so that the succession line may had/has/have many options just in case the next in line is incompetent. #History
The empire is the most powerful but actually is in golden cage/jail, forced work. By confuciasm value and his ancestor honor, he is obliged to work and follow that schedule. He didnt have choice to select empress, mostly this is arranged for him. His job is to bed them and to get son haha
