I went to an elementary school on the other side of town and I remember in like 98 or 99 we went on a field trip to the basket and honestly the only thing I remember was a piano that played itself in the lobby.
It is amazing for me to think that this company was so successful at one point. I visited the shopping park that is down the road a bit from the basket building around 2006 and remember it being almost empty except for the workers. We had a nice lunch there and took a lot of pictures.
It’s now 2021, and I drive by here all the time wondering when will the luxury hotel happen, or when will someone else buy it, or will it be demolished.
@@TravelwithAustin Oh nooo!!! I was hoping they would still go with that! Maybe part offices, part museum, part hotel or bed-and-breakfast or something in the combination... Wedding venue... hope someone or some group can think outside of the box..or rather basket on this one!!! It's incredible!
