Every year I am lucky enough to be invited to go to Glastonbury to shoot the Theatre and Circus fields. This is a passion project, I don't get paid to do it, but for one week i get to pretend that I ran away and joined a circus. I meet amazing a great bunch of amazingly people. Not just the performers but all the people that work small miracles in the background to bring some of the very best circus acts in the world to a farm in Somerset. This year I was given the loan of a set of Sirui Nighwalker lenses to play with. These are small t1.2 super 35mm prime lenses that are ridiculously cheap, yet they produce a quite mesmerising image with lovely bokeh. Shooting behind the scenes at the circus as well as some of the acts at t1.2 is quite a challenge, but I think it was worth the effort.

SOme lovely shots there Alister! I was wondering about the lighting , and now I know how you got the bright images! Thanks to you I'm learning how to get the most out of my "new "FS5" and shoot S log. Cheers Gregg.

Having an t1.2 lens and shooting at t1.2 really helps to get a bright exposure in pretty dark spaces. But the key is contrast. when you have a high contrast scene you can get away with an overall dark exposure, the highlights allow the shadows to remain dark and when the shadows can remain dark the noise will remain low.

Hello, Alistair, I can´t use face detection in my FS5 in 4k mode. I´m reading this problem was fixed in an old upgrade. Could the problem be any other setting on my camera? Thanks a lot

Alister, hellow! I am an active user of sony fx3 and fx30. But I really don't like how motion blur looks. Of course, all settings are set correctly. please tell me, if you compare them with sony fx6, is its motion cadence better?
