Inside the Habitat of One of the Biggest Alligators in Captivity 

Gatorland is still going on? I went there about 16-17 years ago and it was incredible. You're in the swamp but the sheer size of these creatures was breath taking.

A magnificent specimen of this size deserves a bigger enclosure.

"heres an aligator that ate some peoples dogs, so we captured it and put it on display, anyway, now we're gonna poke it with a stick and piss it off"

This is beyond animal cruelty, it is ongoing torture. I read the comments and responses from the turtle room. For 20 years this guy has been tortured. In 20 years the turtle room could not secure a better place for this croc, whether it is as another sanctuary or zoo, or being flown to a protected area where croc can survive. The turtle room keeps responding there is no where for crocs left, there is tons of places for crocs to survive. The only reason they would not try to get him into a better situation is because they clearly make money off him, it is disgusting.

I don't know which is more fun, visiting Mickey at the Magic Kingdom, or visiting Chester at Gatorland.

Chester is to much of a cute name for a animal like that.

my stepdad used to live in florida 10 years ago and he has pictures of a 16 or 17 foot alligator that lived in the area

Wonder if Chester was dining on Labrador Retrievers on Bald Head Island Golf Course? Huge gator there maybe 15 years ago in a pond alongside a par 5. Buddy at a high school reunion told me it had to be removed as a nuisance!

Guys, Chester is actually treated very well. Yes, his enclosure isn't the biggest, but he does have plenty of room to move around in. He has to be kept away from the other gators because he doesn't get along with the others. He gets plenty of food everyday. And the trainers aren't purposely harassing them. They do this to make sure he gets stimulation and exercise everyday. Because he gets hand-fed and doesn't hunt, it's important that they get him moving everyday and make sure he still uses his reflexes. Gatorland is the best home for him, because in Florida, gators are nuisance animals and unfortunately can't roam free. Gatorland is keeping him alive, because if he was out in the wild, then anyone could kill him without any repercussions of any kind. Gatorland loves their animals and treats them so well. Chester is in great hands.

Is this in Florida? Because I remember as a kid a couple years ago going to this zoo like place, and they had apparently the worlds biggest alligator there. He was kept in a place kinda like the one in the video. I just remember the place where it was was very small and it looked like he could barely move. The place where I went to had like this big picture of a alligator face on the front entrance.
