In this video, we explore the streets of the vibrant Indian Community living in Dar es Salaam. Tanzanians of Indian origins are part and parcel of the Tanzanian culture. #tanzania #indian #daresalam

I am also a Tanzanian. Lived in W. UPANGA, OPP. BUDDHIST TEMPLE. I still dream about Dar and all we did as teenagers. Dar has changed Drastically for GOOD.

Thanks for the recommendation, I tried to do it but faced some challenges most of the owners of the "China Town" declined their business to be filmed.......I will still try to do it from a distance and also a language barrier is big.
I don’t recall a Chinatown during the 1960s. Mostly farmers then. I went to St Joseph’s and we owned the only Chinese restaurant called Canton Restaurant. We emigrated to Canada in 1970. Looking forward to your video!!
😅😅😅😅 1940 building in the city today! Most Indians built the buildings in 1950 onwards and those which stand today they're written in big numbers. eg 1958. You probably don't know why Indians built so much at this period. What you saw on this video is simply one or two streets. There are hundreds of such streets with modern buildings coming up and owned by young Tanzanians. In fact a friend of mine has a 14 storey building at city centre and he is much younger than me.
It seems in every African country there is a china town, India town, Lebanese town, white only places. But in other countries there is no Africa only places. Why are we so pathetic
Every major city in Tanzania there is influencial Indian ( as a businessman) ...some of writings apart from native 120 tribes , the bantu ethnicities have added Indians as part of Tribes now the count around 150 + tribes ...There is Murji and Prashant in Mtwara very successful wholesalers and businessmen...but you guys live at the heart of City Centers and dont like to mix well with the rest of communities ...tthats your shortcoming 😂
In the state of Karnataka in india, Indian africans are treated like trash. They are discriminated against in all aspects of life while every foreigner takes advantage of the generosity and politeness of african people in africa .it is time we woke up .
@@homefrontsai i have been there and saw it in my own eyes. Indians are are known to the whole world for their racism towards black people even though white people class indians as black. It is self hating, sadly.
Long back, many Iranian Persians faced persecution and moved to Gujarat and Maharashtra (Mumbai). Dewji is of Indian origin, even though his ancestors were originally Iranians.
Take note Mr.. The British colonial administration created 3 classes of citizens. Europians Indians Africans. The Europians ran the civil administration and some were settler farmers The Indians railway builders were facilitated by loans to start business in urban centres The African were made to work for the Europians and Indians. So to say Indians are better in business is just wrong and a misnomer. Go to Moshi, Arusha, Mbeya, Iringa Mwanza and other towns. Indian bissinessmen are very few . Check for yourself even in Dar particularly Kariakoo . Gone are the Indian Dukawallas. Study more for yourself.

Ignore this comment as this is a personal msg for someone For Mel I wont mind if you have female friends. I understand that for most people, social life is important, so who am I to complain about that. As long as you're happy. Freedom in our relationship wont be a problem as long as Im the only one you want romantically and sexually.
