Wow!!!🤯Compton Acres really blew me away with its lush greenery and winding paths, making every turn a new adventur🚶♂️
From the moment, I stepped through the gates, I knew I was in for a treat!😍
I started my visit in the Italian Garden, and it really did feel like a little slice of Italy!🍕😋😁
The perfectly, mowed lawns, beautiful statues and fountains were a sight to behold. It was a peaceful and picturesque way to start the day.📸
The Rock and Water Garden has vibrant plants and waterfalls, creating a hidden oasis type of feel. The scattered, ornamental hares and rabbits gave me Watership Down vibes. 🐇🐰
Loved it!!🤍
Probably, one of the most popular area is the Japanese Garden. The ponds, elegant bridges, and bonzai trees, as well as another waterfall created a peaceful environment. I could have spent hours sitting there, listening to the calming sound of the water.🧘♂️
The Gardens started in 1920 by Thomas Simpson, and it's clear he had a vision for a beautiful, tranquil escape. The purchase included the mansion and he immediately, set about creating a series of themed gardens to reflect his overseas travels.✈️🌱🌲🪴🌷🌼🌴
It opened to the public just before WW2 and again afterwards. Mr Simpson sold the site to J. Stanley Beard in 1950. Several owners followed until Mr & Mrs Merna bought it in 2003 who lovingly maintain the gardens today.💚
Have an amazing week!💫🤍💫
