What a fantastic interview & walk around

I have loved the SL Pagoda but always too expensive so was looking at sl300 due to running costs and galvinised chassis. I visited the SL Shpp in 2011 and a very friendly young chap with wavey hair called Sam said I could have a test drive. He gave me the keys to a red SL ..I think it was a 1983 I drove it up the road and it was horrible....a wandering ponderous creature.....not driving but helming! I was so disappointed but on returning to the yard another customer who had tried the red car suggested I try the dark blue sl300 he had just driven. I took this car out and was smitten ...I 100k miles and £14k seemed pricey at the time but it had the pale blue checked seats and dark blue paint and low ownership....could have..should have ....but...didn't buy it. Now in 2023 may have to reassess the situation. Glad Sam and his company has gone from strength to strength its pleasing to see good people do well.

I'd be in heaven looking around this amazing shop. That green/green 190 made me make an untranslatable car guy sound. I'm with Mr. Bailey, the 107 is my era... a 500SL silver/red would be my dream spec.

I had a Red R107,great car,then 2002,2005,2007 SL55's.All Black,& the last,an SL55 I bought from Mercedes Newbury,Phillip Nolsen,we took to Affalterbach,and derestricted,Pulley upgrade & it did 330 kph! Now,here in Palm Beach Qld Australia,have a SL63 5.5 V8 BiTurbo,and two other C200 Benzes,One Wagon,(Most useful tool I own) and an Avantgarde AMG C200. I've owned 'Benzes since 1978, 450SE,and 1986 a 300E,2000 E240 then 2004 500E. "Engineered like No Other Car",indeed. But, I have a 2008 997 911 Manual and a new Supercharged 5 L V8 Mustang Manual,to compare.🤣

Good to see these lovely old cars being restored. My uncle in France had an SL190 in 1970. Drove me from Paris to LeHavre. A drive to remember. I've just bought a low mileage Sl500 R231. Hyacinth red & cream. Amazed at the performance. Loving it

As I just purchased a 77 450 SL, Im only starting to immerse myself in the history and culture of SL’s. This video helps me understand what I’ve become part of and how the SL’s have a special place within Mercedes. I’ve always been drawn to these cars, happy to have finally joined the club. By the way, what an amazing business !!

From America - this informational video (as other ones I’ve watched on the SL Shop) were very eye opening to me to say the least! Awesome information on the SL’s as I own a ‘91 Black R129 5.0 and in keeping it road fun worthy I now have a new outlet for parts with your facility. Thank you for taking the time and sharing with us SL owners worldwide of the professional abilities that your business and facility can provide for us with regards to our “family member” SL’s.
