Hope soon Bill will need a separate 20 minutes video just to name all his patrons on Patreon. You really deserve this, man! you are a real inspiration for so much of us! And that flow is really good also!
Bill! Thanks so much for these videos! You put skating in another light for me.You Inspired me skate tonight for the first time in 17ish years, it was amazing. It was like riding a bike. I can't wait to cruise faster and further in the coming months. Now I gotta figure out how to deal with these blisters, war wounds!
Something was very different about this beautiful video... New camera? New lens? The great light? All of the above? Whatever it is, this video was so sharp and crisp, it looked 3-dimensional, and it made the city look even more amazing than ever.
I used to ride a bmx before, but now I can't roll it like before due to injury on a car crash.. good thing i saw your video, i was so inspired.. I want to try but I dont know how to skate, Im planning to get one,and watch tutorials on youtube
Thanks Bill! How about a video on how long it takes you to get from point A to point B, stats like average speed, time, a map etc tips for people who use inline skates as their main form of transport to and from work.
Great stuff, really! Such an inspiration and getting better at it, too. Thank you. Fyi, ships/boats @6:25, I've read that any vessel that can be taken out of the water and placed on another vessel is a boat, not a ship. Hope that helps. Love your channel.
sincerely a big thank you I was looking for a long time for a video showing a skating ride well mastered technically but being disabled now more possible then this video is perfect no unthinkable jump .. double two thumbs up 😉👍😆👍
Hey man I love your videos and content. I had a question. I used to skate for years as a kid, now I'm 28 and I started skating again. I went to a roller rink and I didnt do anything crazy. I skated hard but never crashed or injured myself. Hours later I noticed a burning/bruising feeling right where my shin and foot meet. Like, right where the tongue of the boot would be. I was wondering what I could do to fix/avoid this issue? Thank you so much for making these videos. It is truly a unique and special experience every time I watch your videos. So I appreciate you for that.
Skating should be peaceful. We don't need action skating all the time. Some times it is just nice to soak up the outdoors and be at peace with yourself. Keep Skating and be Free!!!
Just wanted to let you know I watch all your videos and and becoming a better skater just because you post and I am able to get some guidance to speed up my learning curve. I appreciate you. How long do your wheels last for you with all the stopping and what not you do? I ditched my brake the moment I bought my skates to learn with only wheels.
I'm amazed at how you slow down that ramp at 3:57. Do you think you could do a full T stop there? I'm very heavy, and I quickly build too much momentum down slopes. I don't think I could fully stop with a T stop even on such a gentle slope downhill.
Thank you for the tips. I feel I can't exert more pressure, but I'll keep trying. And yes, I have to switch a lot from one foot to the other, so as not to create irregularities on the wheels. I was already using carves whenever I could, ie almost never, as I l live in Paris. ^^ Actually, some spots I have to regularly skate through are only man-wide (and downhill), because of ongoing random engineering work for years and cars parked where they shouldn't be. I sometimes don't even have the necessary width for T stop, so I have a heel brake on free ride skates. That's a shame, but what with Paris' moronic driving and motor scooter riding, and the countless times I had to emergency brake/carve/crossover to avoid being run over, though I had priority, I feel that break is a matter of life and death.
I agree with you about the heel brake! Most of the time I don't have my brake on, and do T-stops when skating San Francisco's easy, level waterfront. However, if I go on a skate up & down the hills, through the tunnels, or in the busy financial district, I like having the heel brake for extra stopping power.
@Derek Simmons They do but not as much as the constant danger of being run over at every crossroad, because cars and motor scooters turn on you without signaling or cross when you have priority. Also in France you are supposed to stay on the sidewalk while skating and skate slow. Why do you consider heel brakes are dangerous?
i think you made a lot of people interested in rollerblades during this video, you had alot of people looking past as they saw you zooming by while they were most likely waiting on a car or a way of transport
Hey Bill 😎. How did you know that you would make that intersection (at before 10 min) going balls out speed? How long does it take you to stop going that fast? Have you ever been hit by a car? I have the fear of cars, I know they don’t see people, i broke all my ribs in jet ski accident & now loathe the idea that I could be hit. I actually wear neon orange shirt & wear some armor, no helmet though.
Bill, hello my man. Its me again. Yesterday I hit Brighton and flew 12 miles/18km. I think i am becoming freak. That said i need better skates. And i would like to buy one from you. Can you advise some crazy skates?
I'm planning to buy these skates that he's riding with but the flying eagle drift which I see in Amazon has four wheel. Can the wheel frame be exchanged for Three wheels or was the flying eagle drift 2018 model discontinued?
Seen a buch of your videos. You remind me so much of Nathan Drake. You videos even got an adventuristic kinda style. Im a noobie but aiming to get as good as you. Epic inspiration dose, check!
I think the clumsy moments are useful for people like me because it shows how you handle them, sometimes I'm clumsy and wondering what I'm doing wrong, or why I'm so sweaty and out of breath and it's because I'm not skating right. So seeing how somebody like you do it, means I get to learn those hidden tricks and things that other videos where you cut it out would hide. So please, don't cut so much. I want to see if you stumble or fall. Not because I enjoy it, but because I learn how you handle them and that helps me a lot more than fast empty roads with lots of speed. Sometimes the devil is in the details, right?
Hi Bill. Just wondered what GoPro settings you use? I'm guessing 1080p with Superview? I just got back from a 4 day skate trip to Paris. Done a little video if you wanna check out: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1YL4jaFDMtg.html
I’m on a 125 set up. I think 253mm. It’s a ultrasonic flying eagle frame. I was just curious about a speed dedication with Bills abrupt stops. Not speeds achieved while skating.
I appreciate your insight, but i’m honestly asking for Bills reply. I’ve seen the vast majority of the vlogs. I was attempting to solicit a response from Mr.Stoppard himself, due to the precision you speak of. I have a good feel of speed to where i feel comfortable doing parallel slides and i’m curious if his exceeds mine.
I recognized that beautiful city right away! Love the video, editing, music. I know you’re a pro but I wish you would wear a helmet, you never know what will happen and it encourages others to be safe too.
It doesnt have to be a interior design channel to make a comment of this kind like i did. No such stict rules afaik. You are trying so hard to get the love of the Inline Skate channel creators. You are such a good dog.
@@freshasadaisy4782 DS does have the love of Skate channel creators because he's sharp AF! A clean space allows me to treat my flat like a studio. I do love art; feel free to send me some postmodern masterpieces, preferably originals.
I guess you got used to get sponsored but no i wont send you anything, of course not. If you like art why there isnt any on you walls? No money no art right. And no DS isnt sharp at all, he just loves to comment and yt channels love to get comments, as simple as that.
