that shits got to be really traumatic to see houses you used to play in turn into bandos and see your memories fade around you. i've watched developers knock all mine down, but this is the opposite direction on the spectrum. when i was younger, i grew up on section 8 in a cul d sac full of abandoned apartments that we all used to play in, and that shit definitely still effects me to this day.

The Michigan rap scene is the one of the best right now. Rio, Mike, Tee, Babyface Ray, Veeze, Peezy etc is putting the whole state on.

the casual friendliness and love of the Midwest does not discriminate. Michigan and Indiana are the only places that random people I've never met have just casually ASKED how I was doing. As a rural east coaster that freaked me out for a while until I learned it was all out of love and not someone trying to ask me for money or sus me out.

I'm from Flint. Northeast side to be exact. Beecher was literally in my backyard. I remember riding my bike to Beecher to run up and down the stairs at the football field. I got out in 2008 a month after I graduated. I recognized a lot in this video. I still got family up there too. I hate seeing it like that, but I know that there are still good people there. I grew up in Flint, dort hwy and carpenter road. Went to Flint northwestern. Saw the neighborhood fall apart. When I want a reminder of my home, I go back and visit my dad. Every house on his block is condemned or abandoned. Sad, but I always have a fun time at the bars with him.

I grew up in Flint, Michigan. As soon as I seen your channel I just knew Flint would be on here. I scrolled and yup, you went to Flint Town. I’m so thankful I grew up & survived here. It taught me SO much! I was one fortunate person to live to be 36! We went through so much, I lost so many close friends and Family. But chose to get the f out. I’m still too close. Too much poverty & too many drug’s. All because of corrupt Politicians!

I'm late but watching from Flints sister city. Muskegon. Flint's light shines brighter and brighter with each day. It's been a rough decade and more for them. Nobody that lives there should have to sue. They all should be compensated highly for the bad water and the hassle they've gone through. Not to mention the money they've spent having to buy water. I moved to Flint Michigan 8 years ago. Have worked on every side of town, and met hundreds of people. I’ve delt with plenty of crime when I lived in another neighborhood, but have found a nice pocket on the southside. For the most part, people here are just trying to make it by. I know every person in my neighborhood, talk to my neighbors every day. Even regularly have them over for holidays and football games. Can leave my doors unlocked and my car running. We look out for eachother like it’s the early 90’s. Especially the community events, this city comes together like no other. I’m white btw, 30yrs old with a son and a girl.

I stayed in Fenton for a few years and drove through Flint a couple of times seeing all the boarded up places was crazy

I own 4 properties in Detroit. Paid $650-1100 for each one. Had to pay the owing water bill which was just as much as they house. It’s wild

It's just crazy how Tommy has went to so many hoods in different states and the thing is they all have that struggle and gang banging going on in their environment I hope they all make it out 💯

Growing up you hear horror stories about the hood and the people in it but as I've grown up I have come to realize that good people are put in bad situations and that doesn't make them bad people. I was born in Flint and lived in mid-Michigan my whole life. Moved to Vegas in 2010 and never looked back, 100x better life. Sad to see so many still living there decades after the opportunities left. When you drive down the two main streets, Dort Highway and Saginaw Street, all you see is liquor stores and pawn shops.

If the right people would get their hands into flint and work with people in the community to improve it for them not, how some rich developer wants it, not running people out, flint could do amazing things. I might not be from Flint but, being born and raised in Michigan I have love for my state and those in it. I would love to get my hands in some property out that way and organize parts of the community to do the same and fix the city up. The music scene is jumping so, that alone could help with tourism once the streets are cleaned up.

Being from the west side of the state, spent a lot of time out there trying to help with water. Flint issues isn’t those who live there, it’s those running it. We had a stand off with the cops because they were ordered not to allow anyone to go door to door handing out water. Screw that, we’re out there making sure the elders get clean water, making sure mama with 4 kids and no car gets some water etc. out numbered and stood our ground, they finally fell back. Been place in cuffs twice, seen good friends cuffed All because the city wanted to control who got water. F that!! We made sure the water we brought in made it to those who needed it. Not to an empty wear house to just sit and go bad. Many thought we were crazy, but years later they are still finding warehouses full of water the government hid and never got handed out
